5* Raids for Shiny Treasures of Ruin

Been soloing with Hisuian Samurott that was suggested by some content creators but might give Araquanid a go solely because shutting down Beads and not having to care for burn rng sounds like a massive plus in exchange for being vulnerable to Dark Pulse flinch hax. Hope you all are having fun with this fish!
I've been running Covert Cloak on Max HP Araquanid to dodge the flinch hax.

I also experimented with 236 Speed EVs to be faster than lvl 75 Chi-Yu. You get the initial Entrainment off before it attacks, so you take less damage from that first move. Getting Skitter Smack and Rain Dance off before Chi-Yu acts has been nice, too. I think Shell Bell is the best item for fast Araquanid in case you're hit by Ruination, since you're not as tanky. I've also tried Ability Shield to always have Water Bubble. Either or works.

The Shiny Ting-Lu ended up with 3,556,583 victories, and you can claim its mystery gift now along with 100x Ground/Rock/Steel/Ghost Tera Shards. Remember to sell if you're near the cap.

Meanwhile, English Pokemon twitter went with a nerd pointing meme for shiny Chi-Yu for some reason.
I guess the joke is the beads look like nerdy glasses?

it's a stretch but when you run a social media account you gotta do something, i guess

it’s just this lol

Huh, Steel and Ghost. Steel makes sense being part of the "mineral trio" along with Ground and Rock, but Ghost really feels like the oddball.

So for Chi-Yu that leaves Normal, Fighting, Electric, & Psychic (obviously will have Fire, and Dark knows what it did).

I guess Electric sorta pairs with Fire, Fighting also in a meta sesne, and Psychic would fit along with the "Fairy, Dragon, & Ghost" random fourth Type.

Maybe they'll pull a small surprise: "Since everyone got all the rewards, here's a small bonus: 100x Normal Tera Shards & 100x Dark Tera Shards!"

Got my pair of shinies (I am one of those mad people who bought both games on release day). Ting Lu might be the first of the treasures of ruin I add to my online team.

Malamar @ Shell Bell
Ability: Contrary
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Rain Dance
- Superpower
- Light Screen
- Liquidation

Malamar is pretty good against Chi-Yu. Contrary Superpower boosts your Attack, allowing Liquidation to get stronger. Rain Dance further boosts Liquidation and weakens incoming Fire moves, and with Light Screen providing even more special bulk, you and your team will be impenetrable.

Been having lots of fun with my favorite bread doggo as a support!

:SV/dachsbun:
Dachsbun @ Ability Shield
Ability: Well-Baked Body
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Careful Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Howl
- Helping Hand
- Snarl
- Wish

At level 100 he's actually faster than chi yu without investment, which allowed me to go all in on sp def investment. Considering all the azumarills, araquanids and hamurotts floating around, howl and helping hand ensure that they have the best damage output they could have. I admittedly only had wish as to not have to waste heal cheers, but in practice that didn't end up coming into play...

SO Azumarill but with less HP & Resistances and instead of spending one turn (and half HP) on a Belly Drum (that usually prompts a stat reset) you spend several turns on Superpower (that'll likely prompt a stat reset, possibly even before you do Liquidation).

At this point if your not using Azumarill you're either using a Kyogre for auto rain and raw power or Araquanid cause your tired of Burns. I've of course seen a few other Water-types (mostly Starters and the uncommon Wellspring Ogerpon). Very rarely would I see someone bring a Ground-type, infact three recent Raids come to mind. In one someone used regular Ursaluna, don't remember how well it did though we still won the raid eitherway. Second someone brought a Groudon and third a Koraidon, with everyone else bringing in a Water-type (none being a rain setter). It was no problem, for both I just set rain up on turn 1 and we won, but like if this was real life I feel everyone would be giving these guys the "Really?" stare. Oddly I don't recall any Rock-types, I guess their usual lack of Special Defense (and everyone using rain instead of sandstorm) kind of deters using them.

Yes, I know, "My Friend Malamar". Just cause it's a meme doesn't mean my point doesn't stand. If anything I'm also playing into the meme by treating it as a non-meme suggestion.

Though, this does bring to mind an interesting series of Raids they can do after they're done with the Pseudo Legendaries: Mega Pokemon (that they haven't previously done). You'd be surprised but of the existing Mega Pokemon just 16 are in SV: Gyarados, Ampharos, Scizor, Heracross, Houndoom, Gardevoir, Medicham, Banette, Lucario, Abomasnow, Slowbro, Sableye, Camerupt, Alraria, Glalie, Gallade; counting Victreebel & Hawlucha (and now likely Malamar) that's 19. Okay, maybe still a lot for a series of Raid events, though they could either do version exclusive ones or just pick a select few and have increased spawns/breakouts of the others (which they then can include the Starters and Psuedos that way). If they wanted to really push things, they could program it so if these Pokemon are transferred to Z-A they could unlock something (probably not the Mega Stones directly, but maybe come with a bonus of Mega Shards); THOUGH I could also see something like a version exclusive 7* Latios & Latias Raids where transferring them to Z-A would reward you with their Mega Stones.

I think it’d actually be pretty cool if some of the “Mega raids” leaned into their actual Mega Evolutions, like Tera Dark Gyarados, Tera Dragon Ampharos, Tera Fairy Altaria, etc. hell, we already had Tera Dragon Charizard, may as well do a Tera Fire Charizard that starts the battle with Sunny Day.

They could even go all out one time with a Tera Fighting physical Mewtwo if they wanted to lol

Wanted to mention that Dachsbun has been a fun support and a nice change of pace from Araquanid, although I now use the latter when Kyogre is on the field to give it Water Bubble.

Instead of Wish, I slotted in Rain Dance in the event no one else brought Rain. My usual plan is to Snarl turn 1 to not only weaken Chi-Yu, but to see what everyone else uses turn 1. I found myself only using Helping Hand with BD Azumarill. Otherwise, I just spam Howl.

Can say that about pretty much all of them.

Though, to be fair, they were 5*, who knows if they would have been a major pain if they were actually 7*. Well 7* and maybe a more challenging Tera Type (Poison Wo-Chien, Electric Chien-Pao, Fairy Ting-Lu, & Psychic Chi-Yu?).

7* for those raids would have been terrifying and probably ender of random partys.

The jump in stats between 75 and 100 is not to be underestimated (HP and speed expecially), and 7* raids also tend to have much more aggressive scripts than their 5* variants, with more attacks than "just stabs". (Even though the double stab from tera on its own is already scary as is honestly)
Can you imagine Chi You / Chien Pao with scripted sword dances and nasty plots going with debuff clears?
