UU Nasty Plot Thundurus-Therian [QC 2/2] [GP 1/1]

[SET]
name: Nasty Plot
move 1: Thunderbolt
move 2: Nasty Plot
move 3: Agility
move 4: Tera Blast / Focus Blast
nature: Modest
item: Sitrus Berry
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 244 HP / 152 SpA / 12 SpD / 100 Spe
Tera Type: Flying / Steel

[SET COMMENTS]

Thundurus-T's extremely high Special Attack is elevated to terrifying levels using Nasty Plot, such as OHKOing offensive Heatran after Stealth Rock. Agility complements this by letting Thundurus-T outspeed the entire unboosted metagame. Tera Blast Flying allows Thundurus-T to break past Grass-types like Hydrapple and Zarude, whereas Focus Blast can be used to hit and remove Excadrill, as well as OHKO specially defensive Heatran and Tyranitar after a Nasty Plot. 100 Speed EVs allow Thundurus-T to avoid being revenge killed by threats like Choice Scarf Latios and Ogerpon-C after an Agility. The HP and Special Defense EVs let it survive Soul Dew Latios's Draco Meteor from full HP, with the remaining the EVs invested into Special Attack. Together with Sitrus Berry’s crucial recovery, the bulk investments also enhance Thundurus-T's survivability, ensuring it can safely reach the ideal sweeping position and begin breaking through the opponent’s team. Tera Steel is an alternative to Tera Flying that prevents threats such as Ogerpon-C and Latios from interrupting Thundurus-T's sweep.

Nasty Plot Thundurus-T is a staple of hyper offense teams, which specialize in pressuring the opponent's resources into opening an opportunity for Thundurus-T and other threats to wreak havoc on foes. Thundurus-T is greatly complemented by entry hazard setters, such as Excadrill, which help weaken foes that would tank a +2 Thunderbolt such as bulky Heatran and Fezandipiti. Excadrill and Donphan provide Rapid Spin support, which prevents Thundurus-T from taking Stealth Rock damage. Taunt users such as Heatran and Grimmsnarl pair well with Thundurus-T, as they can also prevent Stealth Rock. Additionally, Grimmsnarl can set up dual screens to provide easier boosting opportunities. Thundurus-T has excellent synergy with fast offensive threats such as Greninja, which can help overwhelm common checks like Latios, Clodsire, and Tinkaton while appreciating Thundurus-T’s ability to pressure bulky Water-type Pokemon like Toxapex. Physical attackers such as Azumarill, Ogerpon, and Ogerpon-C help overpower Ground-types such as Excadrill and Sandy Shocks as well as Unaware users such as Clodsire. Alternatively, setup sweepers like Take Heart Manaphy and Air Balloon Revavroom can capitalize on Clodsire.

Thundurus-T boasts the highest Special Attack stat in the tier, a wide variety of offensive moves and the ability to OHKO prevalent mainstays in the metagame after a diabolical Nasty Plot. Thundurus-T, with his extremely high Special Attack, elevates that to terrifying levels using Nasty Plot. (there was nothing wrong here, just rewriting it a bit). Focus Blast is used as coverage to counter the Ground-type immunity to Electric-type moves, and ensuring an OHKO on Excadrill, that otherwise can stay on Thundurus-T. Focus Blast is used to hit and remove Exacdrill, as well as cleaning OHKOing specially defensive Heatran and Tyranitar after a a Nasty Plot. Other alternatives are Sludge Bomb to hit Latios neutrally or damage Fairy-types and Tera Fairy users, (not really significant I feel like, the Fairy types in UU are either weak to Thunderbolt or get OHKOed after a Nasty Plot anyway. No Hydrapple mention either is strange) and Tera Blast Flying or Water to grant him amplified Flying STAB or another way to OHKO Ground-types with Tera Water. Tera Steel is to prevent threats such as Ogerpon-C and Latios from interrupting the offensive momentum. The EV spread is optimized as 188 Spe ensures Thundurus-T outspeeds every common threat in the metagame at +2 Speed. With Tera Water, Thundurus-T can tank Surf from Battle Bond Greninja, increase its speed to outspeed it, and OHKO back with Thunderbolt. 176 SpA are to guarantee an OHKO on Metagross, and the rest are invested into HP to ensure enough longevity to setup both Agility and Nasty Plot successfully and rampage through the opponent's team. Sitrus Berry amplifies said longevity, as the berry's recovery is crucial on ensuring Thundurus-T can reach the ideal sweeping position without fainting.

Nasty Plot Thundurus-T is a staple of Hyper Offensive teams, that specialize in pressuring the opponent's resources into opening an opportunity for Thundurus-T and other threats to wreck havoc on the foe. Thundurus-T is greatly complemented by hazard setters, such as Excadrill to help weaken foes that otherwise can tank a +2 Thunderbolt, and cause it to OHKO. for example against bulky Heatran and Fezandipiti sets. (You already mentioned hyper offense, i dont think you need this). Excadrill and other users of Rapid Spin help Thundurus-T not take 25% from Stealth Rock and stay healthy in the setup process. (You could mention Taunt leads as well). Thundurus-T has checks that boast high SpD or a Thunderbolt resistance, such as Latios and Tyranitar, (Both can be shaky checks depending on what coverage move you are running, so probably just remove this). they are greatly pressured by fast, offensive threats like Greninja and Lokix, (Expand on this point, Greninja and Thundy together overwhelm Tinkaton, and in general they punch holes for each other. Also I'm not sure if Lokix is the best example)that prove to be crucial partners for Thundurus-T. Physical threats such as Azumarill, Ogerpon and Ogerpon-C help at overpowering Ground-types such as Excadrill and Sandy Shocks, and Unaware users such as Clodsire and Skeledirge, that prove to be incredible counters to Nasty Plot Thundurus-T. (Clodsire is so extremely bad for Thundurus-T, I would probably mention something like Take Heart Manaphy or Air Balloon Revavroom that can freely switch into it)

AMQC again!
thanks again, will edit soon. added you as a credit again since i know those comments will help me a lot

Hello, im gonna add on to this since I think there's some good stuff in here

Since it's a lot cause there's like two people commenting and the set needs fixing, im gonna hold off on giving the check until this is completed so I can make a follow up. For future reference you don't add the AM QC as a credit, only add actual QC members

Additionally, when you talk about the EV spreads, just be aware despite the short hand on the sets themselves, we still call refer to them by their full name: Speed instead of Spe, Special Attack instead of SpA, etc.

for any changes I made, just look out for the parts in BOLD. Anything else regarding my own comments will be made with THIS COLOR

Nice work on the AM check Oceanic, just be careful with adding rewrites like at the beginning cause it is more of a GP thing, which is out of our jurisdiction. You are allowed to make comments regarding whether or not a sentence is clear and make suggestions on how to improve it, but we mostly do not actually mess with the sentence structure unless absolutely necessary.

Also you could be a little more specific regarding potential Pokemon when making suggestions
ie; you mentioned taunt users, such as what? Grimmsnarl? Tornadus-T?
also you mentioned Lokix might not being the best example, what are some alternatives? furthermore, Lokix does have some value as a revenge killer so you could make an additional point about that.

some points in your feedbacks that I wanted to fix include:
1. 100 Speed EVs allow Thundurus-T to avoid being revenge killed by threats like Choice Scarf Latios or Ogerpon after an Agility.
I changed ogerpon to Ogerpon-C, Ogerpon-C is a much bigger threat than Ogerpon Teal, so it's just more reasonable to put it instead.
2. 144 Special Attack EVs
The onsite spread has 152 SpA evs and thats the set i am required to include now, I changed 144 here to 152 although both OHKO after a nasty plot because thats what the set has:
+2 144+ SpA Thundurus-Therian Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Heatran: 309-364 (95.6 - 112.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
+2 152+ SpA Thundurus-Therian Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Heatran: 310-366 (95.9 - 113.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

thats all, now im ready for qc2 and further instructions.

2/2 seems good by this point.

If you see any specific parts of sentences you made that I put in uncolored bold, those are part I’m referring to in the comments.

As a couple bits of advice about writing, try to keep language more concise so you’re able to fit more information without making sentences longer than they should. You also don’t need to explain things like Thund taking 25 percent damage as that should be a fundamental thing readers should know by default.

Thundurus-T, with his extremely high Special Attack, elevates that to terrifying levels using Nasty Plot. Agility complements this by letting Thundurus-T outspeed the entire unboosted metagame. Focus Blast is used to hit and remove Exacdrill, as well as OHKOing specially defensive Heatran and Tyranitar after a Nasty Plot. Tera Blast Flying allows Thundurus-T to break past Grass-types like Hydrapple and Zarude, while Tera Steel is to prevent threats such as Ogerpon-C and Latios from interrupting the offensive momentum. 100 Speed EVs allow Thundurus-T to avoid being revenge killed by threats like Choice Scarf Latios or Ogerpon-C after an Agility. 152 Special Attack EVs secure OHKOs on offensive Heatran after Stealth Rock chip damage & Nasty Plot, and the rest are invested into HP to ensure enough longevity to setup both Agility and Nasty Plot successfully and rampage through the opponent's team. Sitrus Berry amplifies said longevity, as the berry's recovery is crucial on ensuring Thundurus-T can reach the ideal sweeping position without fainting. Make the defensive spread its own sentence and combine your sitrus berry alongside it mention as they together provide Thundurus’s longevity. Something like how the HP investment alongside sitrus berry helps Thund’s survivability to safely set up and start breaking the opponent’s defenses.

Nasty Plot Thundurus-T is a staple of Hyper Offensive teams, that specialize in pressuring the opponent's resources into opening an opportunity for Thundurus-T and other threats to wreck havoc on the foe.

Thundurus-T, with his Thundurus-T's extremely high Special Attack (RC) elevates that is elevated to terrifying levels using Nasty Plot which lets it do what?. Agility complements this by letting Thundurus-T outspeed the entire unboosted metagame Tera Flying allows Thundurus-T to break past Grass-types like Hydrapple and Zarude with Tera Blast, while Tera Steel prevents revenge killers such as Ogerpon-C and Latios from interrupting Thundurus-T's sweep. Reordered sentences to match set order 152 Special Attack EVs secure OHKOs an OHKO on offensive Heatran with +2 Thunderbolt after Stealth Rock chip damage & Nasty Plot Thundurus-T can OHKO offensive Heatran with 8 SpA EVs and a Modest nature, so this point is only valid with a Timid nature. The set has a Modest nature on-site, and a Timid nature would ruin the +2 Speed EV'ing, so I'd consult QC on the set and whether it needs changes., and the rest of the pointsare EVs are invested into HP and Special Defense to bolster longevity bulk Longevity has a different meaning., allowing Thundurus-T to set up both Agility and Nasty Plot reliably. Together with Sitrus Berry’s crucial recovery, the HP investment enhances Thundurus-T’s survivability, ensuring it can safely reach the ideal sweeping position and or begin breaking through the opponent’s defenses team.
Side note: What does the 244 HP do? Is the SpD a dump stat? Is the even HP stat so Thundurus-T can trigger Sitrus Berry on its' second switchin on Stealth Rock? I would consult QC on this, it's less of an obvious optimization than things like Gliscor's Poison Heal so I feel like it should be mentioned in the set. Might not be necessary though, wait for official GP to ask.

The defensive EVs helps Thundurus-T avoid getting OHKOed by soul dew latios Draco Meteor from full.

252 SpA Soul Dew Latios Draco Meteor vs. 244 HP / 12 SpD Thundurus-Therian: 303-357 (84.1 - 99.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Furthermore, yes the set is supposed to be modest nature. The points regarding Heatran being 2HKOed after a boost can be shifted to the initial sentence with Nasty Plot if the spread itself makes no difference.

The remaining SpA EVs are a dump to help thundurus KO Pokemon at higher health ranges.

Do you think it's necessary to add it to my analysis? or leave as is and wait for GP

Mentioning the Latios part is warranted and then try shifting that point regarding Heatran into the initial line and some other stalwart pokemon you could think of like metagross like you had before to drive the point home.
