Project Monotype Teambuilding Workshop

I would like a team built around hydreigon for dragon monotype,I would like it to be more offense based(But of course have arch and hisuian goodra). :hydreigon:

requesting a bulky poison team preferably with Glimmora and toxapex.

:glimmora::Toxapex::weezing-galar::Amoonguss::Muk-alola::Sneasler:

Went with the bulky theme you requested with Glimmora and Toxapex added on. Wanted Sneasler to be a part of it with the Unburden set that’s just fast enough for Ogerpon and a better chance to live a Moonblast from Choice Specs Flutter Mane. Shadow Ball from Flutter never kills as well so you can SD on it and proc Unburden. Glimmora wants to play hazards down and clear the opponent’s hazards and Toxapex is going to help take out mons 1v1. If you’re against a Toxapex that doesn’t have Infestation, you’ll win that 1v1.

Looking for a mono psychic Latias team. That's my only requirement, actually. Everyone else on the team should make Latias look cool... I just wanna flex a Latias. That's all I look for in life.

Can I get a half and half team? For example: 2 mons that beat stall and 2 mons that beat HO, and 2 mons that fit with both. I am fine with any type. If this is too difficult I will be happy with a mono fairy team with scarf :Ribombee: and :Iron Valiant:

Hey this is a team that will make Latias shine, not necessarily in every game but the most possible. Double dance make it very hard to knock off. Draining kiss is to heal back but you can also go for aura sphere to deal more damages (it can sweep steel if hoodra is too low life to take a hit avoiding a possible dragon tail and if skarm sturdy is broken for whirlwind).
Hatterene is mandatory to have a tiny chance against dark and Gallade helps both.
Indeedee deals with possible priorities and can heal back a mon or stop 1 stall mon with trick. (but realistically if you play draining kiss it won't be Latias)

Generally psychic is a bad type so screens is the best way to use the tools it has especially in a dark / steel economy and best set to use Latias in this kind of comp is either scarf giving it the Healing wish role or being a screen abuser with double dance.

Monotype Teambuilding Workshop

- Have a one paragraph description with the core / Pokemon you want us to build around and a slight idea of what kind of team you want the end result to be.
- Do not post asking us to make use of unviable Pokemon (a.k.a. not on the Monotype Viability Rankings). This is not a competition to see how good we are at teambuilding; this is us trying to educate people on what is good and how to build effective teams.
- Do not flame people for asking for a certain Pokemon or that they can't build one themselves.
- Each user is allowed one request per week and any user found requesting multiple will have their post deleted
- Please remember that these teams are first drafts and as such will not be perfect. Edit them as you please.
- On that note, you are free (and highly encouraged) to suggest and post changes / critiques you've made to already posted teams that you feel improve them.
- Please refrain from posting teams unless you are an "employee," but if you feel that you would be a valuable asset to the construction of a certain team, PM me.
- Do note that requests for teams built around mons that are below C rank (and unranked) are not allowed as they are generally less viable mons in the tier (C rank is still allowed)
- Please do not make specific requests such as doubles, ubers, no legendary, no paradox.

1. Be knowledgeable regarding the Monotype tier and the current metagame
2. Provide evidence demonstrating your skills as a builder (RMT Team Showcase, examples of successful teams, etc.)
3. ~A paragraph in length describing how you build / what playstyle you are best at building (offense, stall, or balance, to be precise)
You must clearly demonstrate to the hosts that you deserve consideration as a builder. If you do not provide enough useful information to successfully enable us to judge your suitability for the position, your application will be declined.

Note: If you wish to become a member of the Workshop staff, please send the hosts a forum (or discord @ royal264) PM containing an application that follows the format below. Bear in mind that demand for builders will fluctuate based on the volume of requests and the activity level of the Workshop's current staff.

You're also welcome to include exact sets that you would want.

Announcements:
  • The Workshop does not accept requests including Pokemon undergoing suspect testing.
  • ACCEPTING BUILDER APPLICATIONS!!!

I'm looking to make a water type rain team centered around Choice Scarf Urshifu. I have a pretty terrible draft that I'll attach here, but on average my teambuilding could use some work. If you could explain your choices with the team that would be awesome so I can follow the same train of thought for other teams. Thanks so much!!

This is the sample team I have made.

Basically rain archetype is weather setter (Pelipper is the best since pivoting + grass neutrality + heal), rain abuser (here we have Barraskewda which will have water moves boosted and its speed doubled) , an electric immunity (Swampert offers pivoting with flip turn which helps to bring Barraskewda in and kinda give an option vs mons like Raging Bolt but don't be fooled that's not the best comp to deal with it).
Once you have your main core, Barraskewda offers only physical damages so we want to have a special breaker and Greninja is awesome with Protean offering a lot of interesting coverage. It's a nice offensive duo.
Tentacruel is your spinner allowing to clean hazards and helping your breakers to enter the field more easily. You also have flip turn to bring your breaker. You could switch this mon for Toxapex full defense with eject button. Tentacruel helps also against Ogerpon, especially the water one.
Urshifu-R the last mon is here to have some speed control outside of rain which can be nice.

Other swift swimmers can be chosen like Kingdra allowing to play mons like Ogerpon-W instead of Greninja. Basculegion-F hits hard but is slower than scarf Meowscarada so you'll have to play another swift swimmer / abuse of priorities and hazards so Barraskewda / Hamurott and Keldeo can be nice fits.
You can also go for Assault Vest Primarina instead of poison mon in some cases (Moonblast, Surf, Flip Turn, Psychic Noise and be sure to tank specs kyurem or raging bolt +1).

This is rain in a nutshell.
