not that I remember but close combat and superpower could have different animations and areas of effect, different properties in addition to their usual ones, giving you a reason to use one or the otherHave we seen Superpower anywhere? Swapping one 120 BP lowers 2 stat fighting move for the other would make sense if they just got rid of one of them. I feel like L:A (& BDSP) did it to a similar extent.
That's neat. It feels like a workaround for Superpower since without Contrary, that move will lower Malamar's Attack which feels sacrilegious. Hopefully it keeps it in Champions as another Contrary tool.View attachment 775988
It also just has Close Combat in its moveset in the full picture.

I suppose we can't actually tell from its moveset, but it implies that Mega Malamar's Attack and Sp. Attack will be the base stats primarily boosted when compared to base Malamar. I can't wait for the base stats to be datamined within the next couple of weeks!
It also did not have Superpower so I'm detective a themeLegends Arceus made Close Combat a tad more widespread didn't it? Scyther got it there.
has scyther ever been able to use superpower? it got CC for the first time in arceus and then in gen 9 learned it for realIt also did not have Superpower so I'm detective a theme
I'm sure if we dig around some pokemon in L:A got CC when they didn't get SP, but I imagie much like Ice Beam Gardevoir & Roost Lumineon that might have been pushed by them tweaking movesets in general alongside stuffl ike thishas scyther ever been able to use superpower? it got CC for the first time in arceus and then in gen 9 learned it for real
I mean Malamar getting CC and Superpower is a bit odd, as far as I can tell most pokemon get either or, but it isn't unheard of. Pinsir for example gets both.I'm sure if we dig around some pokemon in L:A got CC when they didn't get SP, but I imagie much like Ice Beam Gardevoir & Roost Lumineon that might have been pushed by them tweaking movesets in general alongside stuffl ike this
I’m imagining Gen 3 Superpower that just hurls an entire chunk of the ground at the opponent.
i just kinda assumed that move is phantom force or somethingMaybe it's because I haven't been scrutinizing trailers a lot so I didn't catch this before, but I like how it was implied that fighting enemy Megas would involve bespoke fights based on what the new trailer showed of Mega Banette. Lots of doppelgängers that wouldn't really fit with the system as is.
it is yeah, they designed the mega fights as actual raid bosses which is neati just kinda assumed that move is phantom force or something
Scizor however did.It also did not have Superpower so I'm detective a theme
"It" in this case meant "Legends Arceus"Scizor however did.
Trading was shown off, which might mean the game does not have the Link Cable evo item

that would be like romhack level but I think they should at least give malamar power tripliterally impossible but psycho boost malamar >>>>
And amongst all this, we still don't have actual voicing in pokemon games
*sighs*
Maybe in 2090 when gen 100 releases...
Or just the little vocalizations like zelda has (& still does! not every line is voiced). instead of just Unrelenting Silence despite the camera focusing on their fully modeled facial movements.I don't even want full voice acting, I'd be happy with those funny mumblings from Animal Crossing or Banjo-Kazooie.
