Metagame Almost Any Ability

Hello I'm testing out this AAA team and haven't lost with it yet after about 10 games, but I also don't know the tier very well. So can people who know the tier more intimately please point out any major holes in the team? Or cool mons and abilities that might fit certain roles better? The main goal is to double to chien as much as possible on wall breakers trying to take advantage of the otherwise sedentary team. I specifically wanted to use CB chien pao cause I remember having a lot of fun with it before it was banned in OU haha. The alternative play style is to gas the opponents team out to the point where nothing comes in on chien anymore. Either way he is the main focus

I know I can use slow u-turn on corv, but it is more fun for me to double switch, and also requires me to use my brain more, and it also lets me run idef on corv which feels safer. The main thing I've noticed is that pex needs to be careful around knock or it can't heal anymore, so if there are any more reliable heal ability methods you know of for staying in and 1v1ing another mon, please let me know

Moon is there for opposing fat passive chip teams to punish all that crap with magic guard and then force progress with knock and taunt. Heatran is cool so far as well, since it can find many opportunities to fish with plume or just up rocks and help chien get calcs (such as 2hko fluffy corv after rocks with crash). And rest allows me to bring it in more aggressively during longer games

Here is the team again if you read to the bottom. Any feedback is good feedback x

Respectfully, this team gets its shit pushed in by any half-decent Zamazenta, Scream Tail, Latios, Offensive Gholdengo, Zapdos team. If you want to build around Chien-Pao's breaking power, you need a team designed to bring the leopard's frail ass in constantly as relying on doubling to get Chien-Pao in is pure prediction and terrible. The team is also ridiculously passive outside of your primary breakers: if you see a RegenVest pivot like Swampert or Manaphy, you are forfeiting free turns to them because passive damage doesn't punish them from brainlessly clicking Flip-turn or U-turn.

Doubling is unreliable and is not an excuse for forgoing pivot moves, especially when both Moon and Pao benefit greatly from them. Imo, consider dropping your more passive walls like Heatran and Toxapex for more immediately threatening pivots like an Assault Vest Hadron Engine Iron Crown, Fluffy Gliscor/Landorus, Moltres or Primarina. Corviknight isn't actually all that great at keeping hazards off long term, which is why the passivity of the team needs to be lessened because less passivity means your opponent is punished more for giving up a turn to click Rocks or Spikes.

Ty this is very useful. I didn't realise regen vest Lu was apparently so frail haha. I'm going to school now but you're right about the passivity thing. I'll amend it in my free time and post again after testing some more with some better offensive pivots! Also, do you have any other suggestions if corv isn't good long term? He has been really instrumental thus far for coming in on the majority of physical guys, so I'm struggling to think of anyone who could do a similar compression rn

I think you get cooked by Primarina. Both RegenVest and Specs Primordial Sea.
I'm not sure how to fix that though. because all my teams get cooked by Prim too

The issue isn't necessarily that Ting-Lu does not check them short term or even long (because he does, easily lol), but its more of the fact that your initial team had no way to pressure the special breakers and/or RegenPivot that every other passive wall on your team lets in, forcing you to go in on Ting-Lu every time these mons free entry, or pivots into breakers free of charge. Latios, Ghold, and even Weather Ball Zapdos don't 2-hit KO Ting-Lu, but if Ting-Lu is your only reliable answer for these threats that can keep coming in on your passive mons, you will lose to them in the long-run.

Banded Pao needs a team that can remove Rocks consistently, but also on a team that does not let Rocks go up easily. Chien-Pao is great at pressuring Rocks setters by itself, its just that the rest of the members need some way to keep up the pressure. Pao's biggest headaches are bulky Waters, like Prim and Manaphy who can stuff your Icicle Crashes and force you to guess between hitting them with contact moves or Crashing the Fluffy Mon, and Zamazenta, who outspeeds and murks you + doesn't take shit from Ice Shard.

Some recommendations for the Zama and Bulky Water problems include Desolate Land users that stuff Flip-Turn (Moltres is my favorite here), secondary breakers that can also pressure said Waters (a fun option here is SFLO Moth), and Scarfers that outspeed Zama (I like Scarf Ghold, Latios and PrimSea Zapdos here because they are Scarfers that scare the shit out of common Rockers).
