Name: Vipux
Type: Dragon/Grass
Stats: 80 / 138 / 84 / 122 / 100 / 100 [626]
Ability: Equal Share / Swindling / Pickpocket

Equal Share - For every hazard set on the field against the user’s team, this Pokémon’s offensive stats are increased by 10%. Maxes out at 50%. If screens are on the opponent’s side of the field, this raises the Pokémon’s defensive stats by 50%. Does not stack per screen.

Swindling - If a pokemon is holding the same item as the user on the field, It is stolen, and given to the user as a secondary item. If knock off, covet, or similar item removing moves, it will only remove one, with the stolen item being affected first.

Edit: Added Glare and Sucker Punch. Gotta be true to (almost) all snake pokemon.

Make It Rain

Description: According to legend, Vipux bring something important to those who follow it, yet only the right people. Some, who said to hear it snarl at them, have said they have been given old, bronze tokens they were compelled to throw away. Those however, that it deems unworthy are lured into deepest parts of forests and never seen of again. Others who have followed it returned empty handed, but grew happier nonetheless.

Vipux are rare to see in the wild, yet when they are, it is the one who approaches. It will watch the person in front of them and assess them, before slithering on their way. It is recommended to not risk chasing. They’re a better judge of character than you may think.

Appearance: A giant, giant serpentine creature. Its mostly black dorsal side has a thick covering of leaves around it, and it mostly remains coiled. On its ventral side, it’s mostly white, except for one spot near the center where there’s still more black pigmentation, some splotched off, giving the appearance of a suit and tie.

Note: One of the worst gifts to give is just money. It feels less personal, and doesn’t exactly have the spirit of giving. I wanted to think of a Pokémon that could give you wealth, but one who also could potentially give you something more meaningful, so long as your heart is ready to accept it. I thought the most ironic way of it being a snake in a businessman outfit, two things stereotyped of not being the most true of heart, which is why its abilities still reflect this. Its grass type mainly for thematics of money.

Pokémon: Picktreebel (and Mega, not pictured)
Type:
GrassIC_Big.png
RockIC_Big.png

Base Stats:
80 HP / 105 Atk / 65 Def / 100 SpAtk / 70 SpDef / 80 Spe / 500 BST
Base Stats (Mega): 80 HP / 135 Atk / 85 Def / 125 SpAtk / 95 SpDef / 80 Spe / 600 BST
Abilities: Chlorophyll, Quick Draw, (Hidden) Crystalize, (Mega) Crystalize
Crystalize: If this Pokémon uses a rock type move before the opponent attacks, return 1.5x damage received to attackers for the rest of this turn (think like Metal Burst).
Pokédex Entries:
  • Santa Red Edition: Lures prey with the prospect of the first Christmas present. Swallowed whole, the prey is dissolved in a day, bones and all.
  • Pine Green Edition: Said to live in huge colonies deep within Christmas trees, although no one has ever returned from there.
Moves:
  • SpecialIC_HGSS.png
Meteor Beam, Power Gem, Ancient Power
  • PhysicalIC_HGSS.png
Ivy Cudgel*, Stone Edge, Rock Slide, Rock Blast, Accelerock
  • StatusIC_HGSS.png
    Rock Polish, Stealth Rock, Sandstorm
Additionally receives all moves which Victreebel learns.
*Ivy Cudgel will be a rock type move when used by Picktreebel with the Crystalize ability. Will be grass type otherwise.

Description:
Thematically, Picktreebel is all about moving first, and that has to do with the really odd Christmas tradition surrounding them! There's even a Wikipedia article about it, which states that "The Christmas pickle is a German-American Christmas tradition. A decoration in the shape of a pickle is hidden on a Christmas tree, with the finder receiving either a reward or good fortune for the next year." In my house, whoever found the pickle was the first to pick out a Christmas present, and I've heard this to be the case for other families as well. Traditionally the pickle ornament is made from glass, though the one that my family uses is not. The grass typing is meant to represent pickles, while the rock typing is meant to represent the glass nature of these pickle ornaments. I haven't seen many rock type submissions, so I figure this adds a unique type combination to the metagame. Picktreebel's abilties all have to do with moving first, with Chlorophyll functioning best on sun teams, Quick Draw being more luck based or working with Quick Claw, and Crystalize being a really strong signature ability that makes up for the fact that this Pokémon is essentially Victreebel, a mid-tier mon at best even with their new mega evolution.

Pokemon: Caneine
Type: Rock / Fairy (May be changed to pure rock if current selection features an excess of fairy types)
Base Stats: 111 HP / 112 Atk / 93 Def / 74 Spa / 65 Spd / 86 Spe - 541 BST
Abilities: Guard dog / Stamina / Tough Claws

Dex entry:
In the wild, Caneine have been known to hibernate through rainy seasons by entering a statuesque form of hibernation from which they are almost impossible to rouse. You will know when rainy season is over when you hear the hearty barking of Caneine and their pups foraging for the berries needed to regain their rainwashed red coloring. They are fiercely loyal, and a skilled trainer can rouse Caneine in and out of hibernation at will with the temptation of sugary sweets.

Moves:
1766100368413.png
: Play rough, Stone Swipe (95BP, 90%, Rock, 30% speed drop), Earthquake, Rollout, Metal claw, Crush Claw, Bulldoze, Body press, Horn Leech, Crunch, Ice fang, Thunder fang, Jaw Lock, U-turn
1766100382251.png
: Sugar Rush (Fairy, +2 Atk, +1 Atk +1 Spe instead if below 75% hp [can be ditched if OP]), Pain split, Stealth Rocks, Guard split, Curse, Rock polish, Howl, Helping hand, Roar

Pretty standard ddance sweeper with the option of going for curse + horn leech if it wants, or a rocks support set. I wanted this to be based on the advent calenders my family always buys December first, but had to settle for the candy cane theming those advent calendars always came in. More a memory than a tradition, but I hope you all can appreciate this design anyhow.

Oh, I already have ideas for a redesign that's gonna look more like a rock type statue (while still keeping the candy cane vibes) so vote for this to see that!

Description:
Physical setup/pivot. Is both able to set-up, via IDBP, which also allows it to use its ability in a more active way by fishing for Fire-type attacks to hit it, which includes Will-O-Wisp, so this mon is able to go mostly unburned through a game- or can set up via Bulk Up to make better use of its Normal STAB, as well as coverage. Can also be an offensive pivot w U-Turn, with its decent physdef and good STABs. Though it does run into some problems, like its extremely low SpDef, and a Spe that it really wishes could be a bit higher.

Crustini-The Scavenger Pokemon
Crustini are small creatures that scuttle along various water environments. They are often seen as the weakest in their ecosystems due to their rather small stature. As a result these pokemon will use anything they can get their hands on as a way to enhance itself.

Design wise this is like the generic crustacean. I'd like to take elements from shrimp, crabs, and hermit crabs specifically. In case it wasn't obvious yet this is a sort of Eevee-esque pokemon except it's keeping that water typing. Color scheme wise I'm imagining a brown-ish grey by default and then more of an orange-ish pink for the shiny, akin to raw and cooked shrimps.
Pokemon: Scamportli (Scampi and Portly)
Type: Water/Fairy
133 HP / 63 Atk / 63 Def / 112 SpAtk / 98 SpDef / 56 Spe / 525 BST
Ability: Gluttony/Thick Fat

+ Crustini's moveset
Scamportli-The Decadant Pokemon
Scamportli are large shrimp-like pokemon that are known for their thick fat and chitin acting as a powerful defense. It is said that when Crustini find themselves with a whipped dream they awaken their inner gourmand allowing them to become Scamportli. Rather than dealing with predators Scamportli find themselves to be too big to be taken down. It is slow eater that likes to enjoy the taste of its food, making a brutal experience for its prey.

Design wise this is a jumbo shrimp but with elements of shrimp scampi involved. Part of the reason it's so fat is because of my family's recipe for the sauce using a few sticks of butter, some oil, and I want to say half a cup of heavy cream. I figured it made sense to add that in. Color wise it is the same as the sauce in question with its shiny being closer to actual cooked shrimp.

Pokemon: Hermush (Hermit and Mushroom)
Type: Water/Grass
63 HP / 63 Atk / 133 Def / 98 SpAtk / 112 SpDef / 56 Spe / 525 BST
Ability: Effect Spore/Regenerator

+ Crustini's movepool

Hermush-The Nomad Pokemon
Hermush are crab-like pokemon known for its usage of a severed mushroom cap as a shell. When crustini find the discarded cap they evolve into Hermush. Due to its appearance and similar fungal abilities, it is often compared to the pokemon Parasect, however the relationship between Hermush and its mushroom is more symbiotic. The two entities work as a team to effective be one pokemon as one cannot survive as well without the other. It is said that the mushroom on Hermush's back as immense medicinal properties.

Design wise this is pretty much a hermit crab with a mushroom shell, but the real inspiration is stuffed mushrooms. These portobellos are stuffed with juicy crabmeat along with some herbs and seasonings, some parmesan, and with my family a touch of hot sauce is added. As a result the shells are also portobellos as opposed to the cartoony mushroom Parasect has. Color wise I imagine the crab being the color of the crabmeat in this photo and the mushroom shell to be the color of a regular portobello. Shiny wise the hermit crab gains the more traditional rust red while the mushroom shell becomes white, to represent a younger portobello mushroom.
1766115242589.png

Pokemon: Muschell (Muscle + Shell + The german word for mussels which I did not know about initially)
Type: Water/Fighting
63 HP / 133 Atk / 112 Def / 56 SpAtk / 63 SpDef / 98 Spe / 525 BST
Ability: Iron Fist/Compound Eyes
1765675552847.png
: Close Combat, Upper Hand, Dynamic Punch, Power Up Punch, Hammer Arm, Mach Punch, Drain Punch, Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Fire Punch, Bullet Punch, Sucker Punch, Poison Jab, Counter, Fake Out

: Vacuum Wave
1765675563433.png
: Bulk Up, Coaching,
+ Crustini's movepool

Muschell-The Club Fist pokemon
Muschell are larger vibrant creatures infamous for their thick club like fists. These fists are actually discarded shells from another pokemon, and if crustini finds a pair of them, they cling to their claws a they evolve into Muschell. Muschell are known as the boxers of the sea due to their devastating punches. It is said a single punch from a Muschell can destroy an entire building with ease.

Design wise it's a mantis shrimp with the twist being the mussel shells that form the club fists for the pokemon. Fun fact people do cook up and eat mantis shrimp. I'll be honest for some of my families dishes for this feast, I had to get a bit creative this being one example. Color wise I feel as though any color can work because mantis shrimps are some of the most vibrant animals on the planet. The one caveat to this is that for the base form its claws are black because mussels and the shiny form the claws are a more orange-ish hue to represent the insides of mussels.

1766115288606.png
1766115305328.png

Pokemon: Acciuglaive (Acciuga and Glaive)
Type: Water/Poison
112 HP / 133 Atk / 98 Def / 56 SpAtk / 63 SpDef / 63 Spe / 525 BST
Ability: Stench/Long Reach
1765675552847.png
: Poison Jab, Gunk Shot, Cross Poison, Mortal Spin, Bone Rush, Shadow Bone, Counter
1765675573522.png
: Sludge Bomb
1765675563433.png
: Swords Dance, Toxic, Toxic Spikes
+ Crustini's movepool

Acciuglaive-The Spear Fisher Pokemon
Acciuglaive are crustaceous pokemon infamous for using the skeleton of another pokemon as a spear. It is said that when Crustini are desperate enough they pick of the spine and head of the pokemon, Canchovi, and fashion it into a spear. This is how they evolve into Acciuglaive. The pungent smell of the spear is often enough to keep its predators at bay, however its prey often barely get a whiff before the spear strikes them. It is speculated that Acciuglaive taught humans how to spear fish

Design wise much like how Flareon most resembles Eevee so to does Acciuglaive most resemble Crustini. Really it's a bigger Crustini with the main difference being the fish skeleton it now wields as a spear. I went between a few different types before ultimately settling on poison since anchovies smell pretty bad along with how in cartoons fish skeletons often appear in dumpsters. Color wise though I imagine it being a dark-ish blue or grey to contrast the white skeleton it has. In the shiny form I imagine it being a more vibrant blue and its skeleton being a bit dirtier.
1766115519373.png

Pokemon: Calamimi (Crustacean and Teeny)
Type: Water/Dark
56 HP / 98 Atk / 63 Def / 112 SpAtk / 63 SpDef / 133 Spe / 525 BST
Ability: Swift Swim/Infiltrator
1765675552847.png
: Sucker Punch, Psycho Cut, Superpower
1765675573522.png
: Dark Pulse, Psychic, Psyshock, Dazzling Gleam
1765675563433.png
: Nasty Plot, Calm Mind, Swords Dance, Parting Shot, Agility, Hypnosis
+ Crustini's movepool

Calamimi-The duplicitous Pokemon
Calamimi are crustaceous pokemon that use the severed caps of Malamar as shells. It is said that when Crustini find these served caps they instantly grow into them becoming Calamimi. Through this strange evolution they seem to gain the strange powers that Malamar are infamous for, including hypnosis. They use these powers to manipulate predator and prey alike. The only pokemon that seem to be completely immune to this are Malamar themselves. It is said Malamar's hatred for Calamimi is so strong that when a Malamar sees one, nothing can stop it from hunting it down.

Design wise this is probably one of the most morbid ideas for the advent calendar but there is a reason why a hermit crab shrimp thing wearing malamar's severed cap exists. See when it comes to calamari there's the more common fried calamari and the less common stuffed calamari and my family makes em stuffed. While this one lacks crab I figured to kind of roll with it. Color wise instead of the vibrant purple of malamar for the "shell" perhaps it's more of a white-ish red to indicate that someone else is now occupying it and then the shiny has it be that purple with the patterns of malar showing up more vibrantly of course.
1766115342862.png

Pokemon: Capaspada (Capasanta and Spada)
Type: Water/Rock
98 HP / 112 Atk / 63 Def / 56 SpAtk / 63 SpDef / 133 Spe / 525 BST
Ability: Technician/Sharpness
1765675552847.png
: Accelerock, Razor Shell, Fury Cutter, Aerial Ace, Sacred Sword
1765675573522.png
:
1765675563433.png
: Swords Dance
+ Crustini's movepool

Capaspada-The Dual Wielding Pokemon
Capaspada are crab-like pokemon who seem to wield discarded scalchops. When Crustini manage to find two discarded scalchops they begin to master fighting with them and evolve into Capaspada. Capaspada are swift and graceful fighters who use their speed to outmatch their predators and easily strike down their prey. It is said that if they encounter a Samurott the two will battle for hours to see who comes on top.

Design wise while the dish in mind for this was my family's bacon wrapped scallops, the inspiration behind the mon comes from two different crabs. The first being the pompom crab which actually does use dual wielding by having anemones attach to its claws. The second one being the Heikegani which is the crab that has the samurai's face on it. I figure having the stripes and dual weilding of the pompom crab combined with the legs and body of the heikegani could result in one cool customer. Color wise I think the regular colors of the pompom crab work great, and the shiny can have the colors of bacon because bacon wrapped scallops.

1766115366427.png
1766115383485.png

Pokemon: Araviogosta (Ravioli and Aragosta)
Type: Water/Ground
63 HP / 56 Atk / 112 Def / 133 SpAtk / 98 SpDef / 63 Spe / 336 BST
Ability: Water Compaction/Gooey
1765675552847.png
: Earthquake
1765675573522.png
: Earth Power, Scorching Sands, Scald
1765675563433.png
: Wish, Shore Up
+ Crustini's movepool

Araviogosta-The Dough Shelled Pokemon
Araviogosta are lobster like creatures with a doughy like shell comprised of wet sand and a mucus it secretes from its body. It is said that only the most desperate of Crustini are able to utilize soft sand and its mucus to construct a pillowy protective shell to evolve into Araviogosta. Despite it being made of sand and mucus, it allows for some rather protective padding to keep Araviogosta out of harm's way.

Design wise this is a literal lobster ravioli. It's a lobster that makes its own ravioli like shell with the mucus representing the eggs commonly used in pasta dough making. Color wise make it a standard rust colored lobster with a shell that is somewhere between the color of sand and pasta dough. For the shiny red lobster with a black sand shell because squid ink pasta is a thing.
s-l1600.webp

In case the seven seafood inspired pokemon didn't make it obvious it's based on The Feast of the Seven Fishes, more specifically what dishes my family does for The Feast of the Seven Fishes. It's a rather big deal in my family seeing as my mom is the one who hosts and cooks the dinner. I wanted to make all this as a symbol of what the holiday and her hard work means to me, even if she will probably never see this post.

Also this is why the base stat totals and the base stats are all multiples of seven

Overview: A representation of a tradition of sorts where, on Christmas Eve, one is allowed to open exactly one present early. It’s basically a little kid dragon positively brimming with excitement, with a minor gymnastics and ribbon theme due to “bouncing off the walls” and also gift wrap. Hyper Heralding would presumably make it function like Focus Energy Kingdra, where it can drop Dracos at boosted power without worrying about the drops. Electro Ball might also maybe work if you double up with Agility, but you’ll need to go all in for that. Otherwise, you could run fast Specs like Dragapult.

my winter break always includes reading whatever gay fluff i can find on ao3 (this is basically tradition), so i made a pokemon based on that…… it’s based on the corculum cardissa which is a bivalve with a heart shaped shell along with madeleines since they resemble shells, as well as the painting of the birth of venus :p (also wanted it to look inviting and cozy too)

i think i did pretty well balancing its competitive side, it can be a magic bounce utility pokemon to set hazards with or a calm mind attacker to boost its lower defensive stat, which probably won’t be too overwhelming because of its relatively low speed and offensive stats… fairy ground is a really strong type combination both offensively and defensively so i think it’s better to be safe :p

Q: is that ground incandele
A: ……yes

Appearance: A tall tree leaned to its left side like a willow, but structurally resembling a fir tree. The curve makes it almost look as though it is shaping itself into a hand. Overall, Petrias are rocky, made of a purplish, cracking petrified wood through trunk and branches. Their leaves look more crystalline, and have the appearance of dangling, triangular eyes. Some of its roots are visible, and have a somewhat veiny appearance.

Description: Petrias are thought to be some of the first trees to have ever been around. In the wild, they are never spotted twice. The moment your eyes are taken off of them, they vanish.

When a sunset hits their rocky bodies right, they produce a menacing purple light show. At sunrise however, they seem more orange and warm.

In the past, many of scientists have taken samples of the stony bodies of Petria. Each time they ran tests, the structure seemed to be more in line with bone however than stone.

Note: My mom has had a habit of using the same tree…every year. Parts of it have completely fallen apart and yet she still uses it. It is a fake tree, but still. The lights are still pretty though. I thought about a tree well beyond the stage of decay, one that has been petrified through time as the symbolization of this ‘tradition’.
Post it now and I'll add it, but if it's much later many people will have voted!

Neurotoxin
Poison Type (Or maybe dark. Or maybe even psychic idk)
Status

95 Accuracy
Badly Poisons and confuses the target. If the opponent is already poisoned then they are also confused, if they are confused then they are also poisoned, and if they are both confused and poisoned then pick a pokemon to force the opponent to switch into, then lower that pokemon's attack and special attack by 1 stage. If this goes first and the opponent's pokemon was going to use a move but got switched out, the opponent's move doesn't work.

Flavor Description: ChristmADs as a future paradox pokemon. It has now changed methods. Instead of being an aggressive christmas ad, it now uses underhanded tactics to trick others into allowing it to infect the brains of opponents, allowing it to control them with their powerful poison. Originally I was gonna make this pokemon poison/psychic, and I'm still not sure if it should be poison/dark or poison/psychic. Also sorry that the art is really bad I can't draw.

Description: Tanky mon, with good special attack and a good movepool. It has a pretty decent typing, with a few alright resistances, grass resistance is especially nice as there are a decent amount of grass type submissions. Also, it only has 1 weakness - to ground, although it doesn't really have any coverage to deal with ground types. It's also very slow, which is unfortunate. It does have some great status moves, like recover and strength sap for healing, taunt, disable, trick and thunder wave are all pretty good utility, and also it has nastly plot for setup. Plus its signature move can be very powerful, as getting to switch out the opponent to a pokemon of your choice and also lower their attack is good. Plus it essentially acts as a better version of toxic, but minus the perfect accuracy.

Note: I don't fully understand the prompt, and I assumed it meant like another person's submission but I don't fully know if that's correct or if it's exclusively one of your own submissions. Super sorry if I have it wrong, but I decided to do another person's submission. If I need to change my submission please tell me!

You can do either another person's or your own. I'd personally recommend doing another person's!

Kittemitt Large.png
Kittemitt Snowballed Large.png

I just saw Snaq's message after I made the sprite for this D:
I still want to do this mon justice though, since I wasn't too happy with how it came out prior and because I uploaded the sprite for the original form a long while after I posted. For those who didn't see it before, I hope you enjoy both sprites!

Refer to this post to see how Kittemitt's base form functions!
Pokémon: Kittemitt-Snowballed
Type:
GhostIC_Big.png
IceIC_Big.png

Base Stats:
75 HP / 65 Atk / 105 Def / 107 SpAtk / 80 SpDef / 113 Spe / 545 BST
Base form ability change: Ballistic (new effect)
Ballistic: Boosts the power of ball and bomb moves by 1.3x, while halving the damage taken from them. Transforms into Snowballed form upon knocking out an opponent with a ball or bomb move, or if the user's held Snowball item is consumed. (Functionally a bit worse defensively than Bulletproof while offering some offense, and enabling the form change)
Snowballed form ability: Snowball
Selecting ball or bomb attacking moves will lock the user into the move for five turns or until interrupted. These moves will double in power for each consecutive hit (similar to Rollout or Ice Ball).
Pokédex Entries:
  • Santa Red Edition: Kittemitt has become absorbed by their own snowball from excessive predation. Their snowy powers are unchecked.
  • Pine Green Edition: Having lost control of their snowball, Kittemitt has become one with it. Surprisingly, this makes Kittemitt even more dangerous.
Description:
This humorous form change results in Kittemitt being absorbed by their own snowball. Their new form ties into their signature ability, which now triggers the form change upon knocking out an opponent with a ball or bomb move, as well as through the niche Snowball item as an easter egg. The Snowball ability replaces Ballistic upon transforming, with much greater risk and reward. While being locked into a move can be devastating, doubling in power each turn makes Kittemitt, quite literally, snowball. The form change also bolsters Kittemitt's defenses a little, which makes up for their poor defensive typing.

Pokemon: Iron Twilight
Type: Steel/Dark
Base Stats:
96 HP / 76 Atk / 66 Def / 138 Spa / 92 Spd / 122 Spe - 590 BST (same as Iron Valiant)
Ability: Quark Drive

Dex entry: tbd its really late

Moves:
  • 1766186644463.png
    :
Waning moon, Psychic, Dark Pulse, Moonblast, Thunderbolt, Icy wind, Psyshock, Flash Cannon, Focus Blast, Aura Sphere, Steel beam
  • 1766186967379.png
: Lunar Dance, Calm mind, Guard split, Ally switch
Waning moon: Heals 1/4 hp. Two turns after being used, deals damage to the opponent. (100BP, 16PP, Dark type, Special, 100% Acc, Goes through protect) [Note: this move will fail if used before a previous iteration has taken effect, thus not granting the heal]

This is the counterpart pokemon to Twinkling Shade by n.kazuya, loved their cresselia darkrai fusion idea, tried swapping the halves of the mons. I tried my best to make it strong but not overbearing, while still feeling like a noticable upgrade in power compared to Darkrai. If too strong we can even out its attacking stats a bit more.

Flavor Description: It is now a bigger christmas tree! It's head becomes a christmas star, gets really really tall, and has some giftwrapper arms!
Description:
Stallbreaker. Has insane stats and an ability with amazing utility. It's able to block both Boots and Magic Guard from activating, making it great on hazard-stacking teams, as well as block any damage-boosting abilities and items that would be crucial to their user like Sharpness, Guts, Sheer Force, Choice items, Life Orb, etc, as well as defensive ones like Regenerator, or Leftovers. This utility comes at the price of its speed, paired with its bad defensive type, making it vulnerable to most offensive threats, and as any mega/primal mon, it's item slot is taken, so it can't run Leftovers, or any items to fix up any of the problem's its got.
