[Gen 3] ADV+ Open

ADV+ (click the link for complete details) is a Gen 3 mechanics-based meta that adds related (in any capacity) Gen 4-9 Pokemon to the ADV metagame, and attempts to balance it to an OU power level. In this meta, you've got breakers like Heracross-Mega and Houndoom-Mega (Houndoom-Mega is tournament banned), walls like Great Tusk and Clodsire, and Spikers like Gliscor. This meta separates itself from Modern Gen 3 in that only Gen 3 moves, items, and Abilities can be used.

Important rules and information:
  • Matches will be best-of-three in the [Gen 3] ADV+ - BP (IMPORTANT: REMEMBER IT'S THE BP FORMAT. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED) format on The Yak Pen Showdown server/client (defined as the first player to win two games, i.e. ties are not counted). If you want more info on TYP, visit the official thread.
  • Mons in the Tour Ban tier cannot be used.
  • Downloaded replays of all tournament games must be posted.
  • The tournament will be single elimination, i.e. only the winners advance. There will be a third place match.
  • First place gets a $20 Amazon e-Gift card, only redeemable in the U.S. (unfortunately). We may be able to find a replacement form of reward, but it is not guaranteed.
  • Each round will last one week (or 10 days if a coach drops and a backup must be subbed in).
  • Backup coaches (participants) will be accepted as only 8 players will make the cut (Edit: Getting rid of this rule). Solomod tournaments are notorious for not getting matches done, and I want there to be clear communication in case somebody wants to drop mid-round. If you wish to be a backup coach, or want to opt out of becoming one, please specify. First 8 signups to not explicitly specify they want to only be a backup coach will make it in. Any coach drops before signups end results in the next earliest backup coach that posted making it in. Edit: Ignore those sentences, it'll be a normal tournament besides being able to signup as a backup coach.

So, the way ADV+ works is, Gen 4-9 related species make the cut, but unrelated species do not. You can check which mons are in using the Yak Pen server/client linked in the OP; basically, regional formes, later Gen evolutions, and biologically related (i.e. Paradox) formes to Gen 1-3 species are in, whereas lines completely unrelated to any Gen 1-3 species are excluded. So Palkia is banned because it doesn't "exist" in the meta. (If you're interested in playing a format where all Gen 4-9 species are added, that's Hoennification, my other Solomod).

Also, we are getting rid of the 8 signups rule. But backup coaches are still welcome. Just remember to specify if you'd rather be a sub.

Just noticed yall didn't play in the ADV+ BP format - please redo your games asap or I'll have to coinflip. The point of playing in this format is that stat boost is allowed; this is in contrast to the regular format where it uses Hoenn Gaiden "stats reset upon BP" clause.

They're marked with both "suspect" in parenthesis in the OP, and they like, have "Tour Ban" as their tier, in the builder

Didn't mean to come off as rude, sorry. TheBaker I'll give you the choice if you wanna replay or not. I'm down for either and I have the time to do so.
