Back when I was an SS Natdex AG merchant trolling people with Sleep Talk Last Resort Komala I remember getting high level gameplay like Freezai World Cup videos in my YouTube recommended and thinking "Oh my god this is sick, if only I could play in tournaments and be as good as these guys"; I think it was only around a year ago when I first got a taste of the tournament scene when I double crit Giannis with Draco in the SV OU Live Smogtours and got the oppportunity to play some great players. So to even be typing a winpost like this is just surreal to me, if you had asked me where I thought i would go out half a year ago I wouldve said round 2 :sob:
This OST has been such a journey for me, I've played so many amazing opponents, met so many amazing people and played so many games on ladder. It just feels so rewarding and relieving to have pulled this off, like holy shit I'm basically the pokemon world champion what the hell!!! I've learned so much from this experience and am just grateful for everything, I couldn't be more fulfilled.

I have a lot of people I'd love to mention in this post, I couldn't have got here without any of them. The support I got in iron gender was I think the best I could ask for, ridiculous huge gigantic gargantuan shoutouts to waffle04 sire clod Ghoulish Champ LB paternozzo Pokemh AquiIo sequoia cala_aa quacc Heatranator Pinecoishot Quackborg glass shadows CrispyFries Fusien umbre duckycrater blooclipse vk (sorry if I missed anyone theres so many of yall LOL)
These guys helped me scout (shoutout to cala_goat in particular), find teams to use (waffle tysm), provide advice, and most of all give me all the confidence I needed to get me through the games. Seriously I couldnt have done it without yall, and you already know 2027 were going for the OST 3peat (provided no kerb).

Zoyotte was super instrumental in my run, he scouted my opponents for QF and SF even looking at sidetours that I wouldve never found, and gave me great guidance on what my opponents and my own strengths and weaknesses were, as you can see two Africa members made finals so clearly his efforts succeeded with flying colors :bellipog: On the topic of team africa, shoutout to all my africa bros for supporting me and waltz all the way here, Silent Waltz you had probably the most impressive run i've seen in the whole of this OST, its only up from here for us

Shoutouts to blunder lax for covering my games on youtube, been fans for a bit now so to see myself on the big stage like that is crazy lol. Ty to all the agency members in comments supporting me, hopefully i did yall proud

SupaGmoney Stallcord was I think one of the first times where I was able to interact and talk to high players, shoutouts to supa to creating this server theres so many people I've met here that have made me improve in playing and building so much

Gotta shoutout 35 pokes community such as mmtaccos Ea-Nasir NotGerald Ember Celica presi Kizaco this tier was the whole reason I made a smogon account in the first place, super cool metagame with great people yall should check it out when you can

Well, it is what it is. Losing in the finals has a special kind of bitterness, but fuck it I’ll climb back up and perform again, I’m definitely not done here. Congrats to SirPeanutCronch for his win tho, I’m glad I met you that day in that random ahh ladder game. You’ve improved very impressively since then.

I also want to give props to Silent Waltz; losing def feels bad but it was a really tough schedule, and that makes the reaching finals even more impressive. Great run and I hope you keep it up.

I hope yall keep the momentum from this ost and use it to fuel ur performance in other tours u play. I want to finish by congratulating SPC on the win again, enjoy the trophy as a testament to the hard work and endurance that it takes to win this tour

From 35 to the world my man. I cant speak for the entire community, but i am sure we all feel so proud you got to do this. I remember the good old days when NotGerald and Ryu09 were the ones running the operation and Lanistas were the best you had in terms of mod duty, you were already one of them. Youd pop out here and there, but your main thing was the youtube. I remember in November 23, i think it was our first contact in dms, when you asked me to help you make a script for a video on the critdra suspect (sorry, i never delivered anything. Turns out, making a youtube script is harder than it seems). In March, when we started blowing up and me and typhon were already taking care of stuff, i remember when me, Zcarlett and i think it was vic (i dont know their smogon) covered the entire feb tour semis and finals, which never got released (and are now lost media...), we had to do wverything through you and send you every recording via email. And the podcast with Just A Dreemurr and vic, the interview with AReallyShiftyGuy and bigshoota and just so much more we had to go through you for. And you were always a great guy to hang out with. And look at the 35 youtube guy now! The guy who gave friend a way to tell us dugtrio is mid in october23 has now gotten a trophy. Its insane to see someone that came from 35 get to the very top of the game like this. I feel some kind of immense pride with this. Congratulations dude, youre an incredible player and person and many more trophies will follow this one. The 35 community is lucky to have you as one of its most esteemed members

Not the result we were hoping for you must be disappointed but know that you had us on the edge of our seats throughout your run. I remember back in Round 3 when you told me that this would be your tournament for sure, the trophy isn’t here, but the run was incredible. You’ve inspired us in the French and African (or Franco-African) community to follow your example and do our very best. we’ve always helped each other and I still have just as much fun building and testing with you. Beyond being a Smogon mate, you’re a true friend, so take care of yourself and keep giving it your all without listening to the haters because we’re new, now’s the time to prove to them that the new generation of players is promising.

SPC, well done for ur trophy the fact that a Team Africa player won it makes me happy, so keep giving it your all. I hope you’ll carry Team Africa. enjoy et take care.

It was a pleasure to help you til the finals, unfortunately things went in a way you didn't plan, but it makes you stronger for the next one :)

Also, congrats SirPeanutCronch for winning this trophy. You guys are the future of Africa, you both made it to the finals so I expect an amazing performance from our African friends in the wcop to come.

As a final word, I've seen things and takes during that OST that were weird as fuck and I believe this must definitively change : Stop hating on players that arent on the level "you" expect. You won't have new players reaching the top level if you never encourage them to do. Stop hating on people. Encourage people. This mindset is ass and is def a huge problem in Smogon overall.

Everyone was a nobody once, and I think some of you guys wouldnt appreciate the things you said about X or Y player if you were at their place. Encourage people to get better, dont hate on them.
