Simple Question, Simple Answer Thread Advance

To turn them into Water Stones, go to Mossdeep City, and surf to the left/north and you will find a collector. He will ask if he can trade the Shards for Stones. Just trade with that guy every time you get Shards.

That to me is freakin' great.

yes, NetBattle is pretty much the only advance simulator as far as I know. I think Kirby's Casino is the server that is usually most populated, and it runs all the mods of added moves from XD/Box (same thing the smogon server ran i think), while many of the other servers don't have those mods, so I guess that's the best server.

It was only given out in Japan though. If an US version was used in a Japan event to get the Old Sea Map, would it work?

Is there a way to trigger rematches with gym leaders? I find them so much more interesting than the Elite Four over and over.

Eventually you cannot refight them after a certain number of re-battles, but this is only in Emerald. I do not think there is any particualr way to trigger the battle. In R/S, you cannot re-battle them at all.

are the stats different, in leafgreen/firered from R/B/Y?
what should i know about the change (if any)?

The "Special" stat is split into two separate stats: "Special Attack" and "Special Defense" which of course means there are two separate, varying stats that affect how much damage you take from a special attack, and how much you deal with one.

Along with DVs/IVs which carried over form RBY, there's an additional stat factor called EVs (Effort Values) which I'm too lazy to give you an overview of, much less find a guide that goes in depth with it.

Also, Base Speed is no longer a determining factor in critical hits.

Freeze is no longer permanent until Haze/Fire-type move/Ice Heal is used, though you can still use the latter two to cure it. Otherwise, you'll thaw out eventually after a number of turns.

Seismic Toss does not affect Ghosts without using Foresight/Odor Sleuth.

Blizzard's accuracy has dropped by 20 points.

Snorlax is still a beast.

Hyper Beam's recharge isn't negated by a KO anymore.

Toxic is actually useful now.

Substitute negates opposing status moves.

After waking up from Sleep status, you attack on the turn you wake up on.

Fire types resist Ice-type moves.

I'm looking at a type match up chart for RBY right now, and Bug is no longer super-effective against poison-types if this chart is right.

That's all I can think of.

Questions:
What is the likelihood of reverse-engineering the process by which Mystery Gift is activated through the wireless adapter?
How tough is the R/S Battle Tower compared to the one in Emerald?

You can fight them as many times as you want. I've battled each one 5 times and I have half on them wanting another battle on my Match Call list. There is no limit.

To get them ready for a rebattle, you need to do a lot of trainer battles. It has nothing to do with entering/leaving their gym's location, unlike activating trainer re-battles. I don't know whether wild battles are included. Go for the emblems in the battle frontier and check your Match Call list after you win/lose, or go battle all the other match call trainers 5 times.

The battle tower in R/S only allowed single battles either lv. 50 or 100. In Emerald, you can do linked, double, single, or partner battles. It also has the Open Lv. function, making the highest level on the team you enter the highest level your opponent has.

If I trade my Pokemon from LG to Diamond like Graveler or Kadabra, will they arrive and evolve? Note that I'm playing with one DS.

ok well i beat my emerald and on the tv they said something about a pokemon and the my mom said what color was the pokemon and i chose blue for latios and ever since then i have not found it in the hoen region (not the B.F.) is ther any tips to find it cause i have a master ball to catch it, its just i havent seen it.

It all depends on luck, really. It's random. The first time I played Sapphire I found Latias on one of the water routes, so it can be anywhere.

My advice to you is to forget about it and focus on something else, and eventually it will pop up.

Actually, the way I find it is, if you have seen it, you can see its location right? Just save on a route where it shows up (land works best), and then soft reset until it shows up.

the way i learned from some random web search a long time ago is this:

save your game at a grassy patch somewhere. then go into the patch and if its not latios, reset and try again. keep doing this, and eventually it WILL turn up.
