Hey guys!
So I was breeding aipoms and I finally get a 30 attack 31 speed one but it has pickup. Do pickup aipoms evolve into pickup ambipoms? If so should I bother working for a technician one with payback instead of shadow claw?

Unless you're breeding it in a 3rd gen game, it will evolve into a Pickup Ambipom. As for Payback vs. Shadow Claw, it depends if you'd rather have 75 BP instead of 70, or a higher crit ratio. Also, Dark attack vs. Ghost attack, depends what kind of coverage you need.

I have a question (again).

>.> Damn

When you use a choice scarf and the speed gets Multiplied by 1.5, do you round the answer down? (x.5 would be x)

I believe so Heracross with 252 Speed EVs hits 403.5 Speed with Choice Scarf. And many Pokemon run to outspeed 403.

(Another example: Adamant scarf chomp, 31 Speed IV, 252 Speed EVs, give you 303 Speed before scarf, then after scarf 454.5 would round down to 454?)

Look up damnit!

EDIT: I'm trying to figure that out because I want Jolly Mence (using DD) to outspeed an Adamant Scarf Chomp.

Okay...

All Speed IVs are 31, Salamence is Jolly, Garchomp is Adamant with 252 Speed EVs.

Garchomp hits 303 Speed at Level 100

If Salamence has 152 Speed EVs, after scarf, it will reach 456 1.5 (well 2) points higher then the Garchomp, correct?

No you need 164 Speed EVs to hit 304. 152 Speed hits 301. Get you math right or in this case your EVs right.

@Mr. Darkai, Thanks. So, what should the spread on the Salamence look like? 252 Atk, 164 Speed....But where should the last 94 EVs go? I'm thinking Defense....

Technician would boost Payback's power to 90, not 75. Payback would be the better choice if you wanted more reliable damage, though I don't know how often you'd really expect an Ambipom to be outsped (thus making Payback really useful).

I'd say put it in HP because some walls are EVed to OHKO 4HP Salamence with Ice Beam and helps you on the both sides of defense. Intimidate already helps Defense. Or you can go for Special Defense.

50 * 1.5 = 75. So it would be 75 Base Power not 90.

Is there a thread that has a list of all trainers that IV Battle(possibly in the Wifi Section)?

If not, would it be wise to start one?

There's already a thread such as that except no FC's and names, so it would get locked. And most people IV battle, just not all the time, which is why there isn't much point to the FCs and names part..

Alright I got a better aipom with runaway anyways so the technician problem isn't there anymore. Now I'm probably gonna run Fakeout/Brickbreak/U-turn but for the 4th move I see people go for pursuit or payback. Which move do you think is more useful/safe?
Also from searching RMT's I see a lot of people put life orb instead of choice band on ambipom and I was wondering what you guys thought about it?

No stab move like double hit or return? Sounds really dumb to me.

Looks like you want to use a "Flich and Flee" set. A common set for that is...

Ambipom @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 6 HP
Jolly Nature (+Spe, -SpA)
- Fake Out
- Brick Break
- U-Turn
- Payback / Return

Although you can use Pursuit for those fleeing Gengar and Mismagius. This set would hit everything in the game. Return gives a good STAB attack but at the cost of losing coverage. Payback gets good base power and has great type coverage.

No it's not dumb. You should see the analysis they suggest using Payback too you know.

He does have Fake Out which does quite a lot. But he can go with Return or Double hit but at the cost of being walled by Gengar. Yeah you can U-Turn or switch out but Gengar's movepool is so diverse and unpredictable it's pretty hard to find a right switch in. The ScarfGar versions can outspeed you but if you can switch into a Shadow Ball you can Pursuit it.

ok heres the deal. i wanted to do a giveaway poke when i hit 1k posts a little while back but as a lot of people frowned upon giveaways, i decided against it. but i thought that if i did a pokemon no one breeds or has anyway maybe it wouldnt be such a big deal? so what is a pokemon that is very underused yet underrated at the same time? any opinions greatly appreciated. ^^
