The Ban on Event-Moves. Does it affect Wi-Fi? (Was it decided that they will be banned on Wi-Fi as well?)

EDIT: And where is a good damage calculator? I've heard MetalKid's overshoots a little...

No, but good luck getting the moves on wifi. If you do obtain them and use them you may be called out and might have to show your pokemon stats. If it happens that you have a event pokemon with flawless stats or something of the sort then you may be blacklisted IIRC.

coughsigcough

Thanks. I know WishBliss can only be Calm (or... Modest?) but are there any/are they know IV limitations on them?

And technically even perfect IVs are possible... But it would take forever...

And anything about the damage calcs? (I editted my original post)

I think Fanasty of TLF made one. Metalkids is the one I use though and I rarely have problems with it. It does overshoot but only a little bit so it still is a good calc.

Meh, I really wouldnt know about the legal wishbliss limitations. I ams ure some wifiers who play shoddy might call you out though in it if you do use a wishblissey. I do remember reading that calm blissey is the wishbliss though but I have no idea on ivs, (one of the reasons its banned from shoddy).

It's not like I'm TRYING to cheat. But I remember Calm -> Natrual Cure, Modest -> Serene Grace, I think... And yea, if I a called out on it, I am perfectly fine with showing my opponent my team

On Goodbar and Negato's trade thread, this Sceptile is up for trade.

IVs: 1/x/30/30/31/30
Available with: 20 Hp, 142 Defense, 132 Sp. Attack, 216 Speed

"The 1 IV in Hp is actually beneficial too, in that it allows it to recover a better percentage of Hp per turn!"

How exactly is a 1 HP IV beneficial at all. As far as I know, Leech Seed heals at a percentage of total HP. More total HP, increased by having a better HP IV, the more you're healed. That statement makes absolutely no sense to me, so could somebody explain it?

As far as I know, the 20 HP EV used gets Sceptile to a magic number or something, but is that actually better than having a maxed HP IV?

No. 31 HP > 1 HP. It's just something people say to sell their stuff. Same with life orb number 31 HP is better then 29. You'd need to stay in battle for something like 4 turns before you see any benefits of a 29 HP.

Thanks, so my personally bred Timid Treecko is indeed better.

29/30/31/30/31/30 with HP Fire 68 I believe. Though I bred this thing some time ago on Pearl before I quit playing a long time ago. Don't remember the exact IVs, I just remember my Treecko being perfect in everything but its HP IV, only slightly.

IIRC, the best HP Fire IV set is 31/30/31/30/31/30

Attack IV ended up being pretty good despite it not needing it, so... whatever.

That above quote is entirely untrue for subseeders so dont listen to that. Instead I wrote how it works below.

The percentage of HP will go up the lower your total HP is.

And the more HP the opponent has the more health he will lose from leech seed. Why?

Well Leech Seed heals you off how much HP your opponent loses. I believe it is 1/8 of their HP they lose so pokemon with Higher HP and that are seeded will lose more health. A pokemon with 80 total HP would lose 10 HP a turn, and a pokemon with 64 hp would lose 8 hp a turn. So why does it benefit you to run less HP? Well the ammount they lose you gain and percentage wise this is very important if you are trying to make substitutes. A Pokemon with lower HP recovering with leech seed will allow you to restore more health percentage wise then say a pokemon with higher HP.

Still doesnt make sense?

I have a Pokemon with 80/100 HP
I also have another subseeder with 160/200 HP

The opponent seeded pokemon has 160 HP so they are losing 20 hp a turn. Now my pokemon with 80 HP will gain this 20 HP giving him a perfect 100% full hp. Say he has 10 HP left. He wont be able to make a sub but thanks to restoring 20 HP he goes to 30/10 or 30% hp.

Now my other subseeder would also gain 20 HP but percentage wise that is barely anything. His total would go 180/200 which is still percentage wise the same as 16/20.

Now that pokemon is down to 10/200 HP. I restore 20 giving me 30/200. Now before the pokemon with 10/100 hp was abel to go to 30% allwoing another substitute. However I need 25% at least to make it. So basically 30/200 HP would need to be 25% or higher percentage wise. But it is only 15% hp meaning I cant make another substitute.

Would 1 > 31 in that case? And is 20 the magic number like he said? I'd like to know the "best" lowest number.

In this case of a subseeder 1>31 just for the lower HP. There really is nothing bad about a low HP subseeder. I think of it as a good thing. 20 I dont know about.

If I use Hidden Power Fire while Sunny Day is activated will it receive the weather bonus?

Certainly. Also an added bonus is that Solarbeam + Hidden Power Fire will both benefit in sun and hit a ton of pokemon (excluding dragons and heatran). But the answer to your main question is yes HP fire is powered up by sunny day.

Is Arcreus allowed in standard uber play?

Certainly not. 120 base stats for every stat and all his powerful moves actually has him banned from uber play. There would be no way he is ever allowed in Standard Play.

Would 1 > 31 in that case? And is 20 the magic number like he said? I'd like to know the "best" lowest number.

If its only purpose is for subseeding, then yeah. The "20" I would assume would be the lowest hp (for subseeding purposes) the sceptile could have in order to sub 4 times, and take advantage of leftover recovery over 4 times to sub a 5th turn.

Whether this is worth it...whatever floats your boat.

Oh, so basically the less HP I have, the less HP I have to sacrifice to make a substitute. Because of that, I can heal a slightly higher percentage of my HP with the Leech Seed's drain...

Alright so 1 HP IV + 20 HP EV = 256 HP Sceptile. So I guess 6 HP IV Sceptile would be the best to minimize wasted EV?

However, doesn't this mean that this is only ever useful if it ends up paying for one more substitute than the 31 IV Sceptile could pay for?

Can anyone do do some calculations to see exactly how many subs it would take for the 6 HP IV Sceptile to benefit from the ability to use one more Substitute than the 31 HP IV Sceptile? Something just leads me to believe that it would require an improbable amount of substitutes to make the 6 HP IV Sceptile to be even worth using.

Arceus is banned from Uber play because it cannot be legitimately obtained ingame. That's why Extended Game clause exists.

Thanks for the answer, but I didn't specify. I meant to say that once an Arcreus event is held and it is legally obtainable, will it be allowed in ubers? It is an uber, but it might be too strong to even be in ubers. Is there a definte answer as to whether it will ever be allowed in ubers?

edit: Kinlgerdude, do you mean that it will most likely never be allowed in ubers?

Well CotH is right that it isnt in Ubers because it doesnt technically exist until the event. However even when it comes out, I feel it will be too powerful for ubers, centralizing the metagame and will be banned from ubers. It would most likely stay on the extended clause even if it did become legally obtainable.

I don't know about that. Ubers isn't supposed to be a balanced metagame so it SHOULDN'T make a difference whether Arceus is too powerful for the tier or not.
