A Platinum Team (Revised)

Ok, so after making revisions to the team I made, here it is:

dpmfa235.png
Smeargle@ Salac Berry
Trait: Own Tempo
Jolly Nature
EV’s: 252 HP/ 252 Spd/ 4 Def
- Spore
- Substitute
- Nasty Plot/ Calm Mind / Swords Dance
- Baton Pass
Spore for sleep, Substitute to wear down its’ own HP, activate Salac Berry, and take a good hit (maybe even pass it with a stat raise). Swords Dance to sharply raise attack and then pass, Nasty Plot or Calm Mind to pass as well. Yes, Smeargle has really crappy stats, but it would make a great BP.

dpmfa392.png
Infernape @ Life Orb/ Expert Belt
Trait: Blaze
Naïve Nature
EV’s: 128 Atk/ 128 Sp. Atk/ 252 Spd
- Close Combat
- Flamethrower
- Stone Edge
- Grass Knot / Nasty Plot
Just a basic Mixed Sweeper Infernape. Close Combat for STAB, and if I was to get a Swords Dance in from a baton passer, then it could do more, same goes for Stone Edge. Grass Knot for the water types etcetera and Flamethrower for STAB. The EV spread is split between Atk and Sp. Atk, making it even. With a 31 IV in Speed, 252 EV’s towards it would be great considering that Infernape’s Speed is very good along with both of its Attack Stats.

dpffa242.png
Blissey @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
Bold Nature
EV’s: 252 HP/ 252 Def/ 4 Sp. Def
- Softboiled
- Aromatherapy
- Thunder Wave
- Seismic Toss
A commonly used Blissey set. Softboiled to restore HP, and Aromatherapy to recover from any status move. Thunder Wave used to stall the opponent and cut their speed, this way Blissey can get in for a Seismic Toss.

dpmfa482.png
Azelf @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
Timid Nature
EV’s: 36 HP/ 252 Sp. Atk/ 220 Spd
- Nasty Plot
- Psychic
- Flamethrower
- Grass Knot

With a Nasty Plot passed by Smeargle to Azelf, this Pokemon can do wonders. Psychic for STAB, Flamethrower for the obnoxious Ice and Grass types, and of course, Grass Knot to take down heavy Water types.

dpffa350.png
Milotic @ Lefotvers
Trait: Marvel Scale
Bold Nature
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Sp. Atk
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Recover
- Hypnosis

A Hypnosis Milotic set. Of course, it would be nice if I could put in more Sp. Atk EV’s, but that would take away from it’s Defense or HP EV’s. Surf for STAB, Ice Beam to take down some weak Grass types. Hypnosis to put opponents to sleep and take them down. If Milotic has been damaged, it can also use Hypnosis to put the opponent to sleep and use Recover (even though the opponent would probably switch).

dpmfa445.png
Garchomp @ Leftovers/ Life Orb
Trait: Sand Stream
Adamant Nature
EV’s: 4 HP/ 252 Atk/ 252 Spd
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Fang
I’m not so sure if I should use this Swords Dancer Garchomp, or the ‘Chain-Comp’, please help with that.
Just a basic Swords Dancer Garchomp. Swords Dance to sharply raise attack, EQ for STAB and massive damage, Dragon Claw for STAB, and Fire Fang to rip through those annoying Ice types. If baton passed a Swords Dance, then I wouldn’t necessarily need to use Swords Dance, but I could.

And that’s my team! Please give suggestions, help and CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.

I saw a huge problem as soon as I opened this thread and scrolled down. Smeargle? Lead? No. You'll be getting consitently screwed by leads like Aerodactyl/Gyarados/Anything else with Taunt/Faster than you. Also Smeargle seems like a weak choice for this team otherwise. Speaking of Gyarados, that also gives you a lot of trouble so far. We need to fix this immediately. Fortunatly, there is something we can add to make a great lead and Gyarados counter - Bronzong. With HP Electric, Bronzong can counter Gyarados effectively while still maintaining it's support. I'd suggest you place this over Milotic first of all. Something like:

Bronzong @ Lum Berry
Relaxed - 252 HP/48 Attack/128 Def/80 Sp.Attack
- Hypnosis
- Gyro Ball
- Hidden Power [Electric]
- Earthquake / Explosion / Stealth Rock

It 2HKOs Gyarados with Stealth Rock up and still is a fine lead.

Another thing I noticed is your weakness to powerful Fighting type attacks, from the likes of Heracross/Lucario. Gliscor can handle both effectively and I think we should replace Smeargle with it:

Gliscor @ Leftovers
Impish - 252 HP/252 Defence/6 Speed
-Earthquake
-Ice Fang
-Roost
-Taunt

It's a great counter to the aforesaid Fighting types. We can go with Taunt since Bronzong already carries Stealth Rock.

Finally some of yout sets need work. Firstly Infernape. Go with Naive nature, 20 Attack/232 Sp.Attack/252 Speed, Flamethrower/Hidden Power [Ice]/Grass Knot/Close Combat with a Life Orb. Standard Mixape. Also your Blissey wants 20 HP/252 Defence/236 Sp.Defence.

I agree with the above poster in that Smeargle screws you as your lead. Pretty much everything is faster than it and will own you without a Focus Sash.

If you really want a baton passer, use ninjask. It can atleast kill a scarfcross from my experience.

And Weavile and Deoxys (providing it has a speed boost under its belt. Which isn't hard with the use of Protect or a Focus Sash).

However, I don't think he's looking to pass speed, which is all Ninjask is really good for. If you REALLY are set on using Smeargle you could use a Ninjask to pass to Smeargle who has a Focus Sash.

Ok, so I see that Smeargle shouldn't be the lead (I was dwelling on if I should or shouldn't for a while)...

The Blissey that you suggested IV's would look like:

HP: 656
Def: 130
Sp.Def: 365

Seems nice. I actually like having a Blissey with Max HP though, but that's just my opinon. With the EV's you gave me, it shows that it is pretty spread out.

I like having Milotic in there (unfortunately, I already had one in my Diamond set up XD), but Bronzong also seems good as well. Could you explain on how that would be better for me?

The Bronzong:

HP: 338
Atk: 226
Def: 330
Sp.Atk: 214

Shows nice stats, however, I have a problem with Hidden Power:

The Pokemon always must have the certain IV's to get it right? So the IV's for this Bronzong would have to be:

HP: 31
Atk: 30
Def: 30
Sp.Atk: 31
Sp.Def:31
Spd: 14

Of course, there are other IV's that can do it, but let's also remember that fire type Pokemon, such as Infernape, can take down Bronzong unless it has the ability heatproof which with it makes way for EQ. Then again, Stealth Rock can also make it in against strong fire types.

If I replace Nasty Plot on Azelf with T-Bolt, then there's the solution to the Gyardos problem.

So what IV's should the Bronzong have?

As for the Gliscor over Smeargle that's fine. Just why no Attack EV's?

And I'm debating once again on HP Ice on Infernape. It's stats with the EV's you gave me:

Atk: 249
Sp.atk: 302
Spd: 342
