Sufficiently-descriptive adjectives fail some people. I think he means Charmander : fire :: *Armordillo* : mini-cyclone. Like a tornado, only smaller, and the tip connected to its tail.

Ok, that's what I thought at first, but I was like, "How the hell do you draw something that's inherently invisible (i.e., wind) at the end of a tail???" I'll think about the fan-like tail, though.

Absolution has my vote. Possibly small little fangs out of it's mouth is the ONLY think I think of. It's just perfect.

Do we think this makes him look too much like a Dark type? I associate fangs with Bite and Crunch, and thus the Dark type. And since people are already complaining about that, I don't want to push it.

I really like the smog imp, but I still don't think it looks Ground enough for me. Otherwise it looks perfect, good job.
Ground's his secondary type. It shouldn't dominate the design, IMO. But thank you for the compliment.

Love the edit, man that thing is cool/cute/smoggy.
Thanks!

Absolution...it's perfect now. The earthy feel is there with those rocks there, and a lot more easier to see now.
Awesome. I'm glad. Thanks for the suggestion in the first place. It looks closer to the original concept I had in my head now.

I like Absolution's design the best.
Thanks!

Before I begin, I must say I loled at the Burger pokemon conversation going on. Also, this will be a pretty big post.

Okay, here are my sketches. I'll start off with the Death Worm...

I started off trying to make a cute wormy, but it just wasn't cutting it for me. They didn't strike me as defensive enough. So I decided to show it by giving it an armored look.

The armored segments look constrictive, but it's not actually connected to its flesh. In order to move through the earth, rather than using its jaws it spins the armor segments rapidly, drilling through the earth. Even on the surface, by rapidly spinning the armored segments it can travel incredibly fast. The crystals on its lower body look like eyes, but it is actually blind. It uses those crystals to sense any prey on the surface, and to protect itself.

This is the second design, my hybrid spider creature. As I said in a previous post, this is a combination of a Trap Door Spider, a Daddy Long Legs, and a Jumping Spider. The fore-claws are used for digging, which is a trait of Trap Door Spiders (technically Tunneler, but meh). The body has no abdomen, like a Daddy Long Legs. Finally, the hind legs are this creature's most powerful part of its body. This gives it the ability to jump, which is the Jumping Spider's trait.

This creature uses its large fore-claws to dig traps in the desert, in which it hides. Once some prey approach the trap, it quickly springs right out of the hole and tries to drag the prey down to poison it. The reason it doesn't strike the prey with those monstrous fore-claws is that the fore-claws are so large, it can't use them to attack prey. They're built for raking inwards, not lifting and striking. It can stay underground for a long period of time because it requires no water. Instead, it drinks oil found deep underground. The oil it drinks is visible on its body. If it is forced to surface, it goes into a defensive state instantly. It tries to spray the enemy with the oil, which has been in its body so long that it becomes poisonous, to startle them and stall so it can dig another hole to escape. If it feels the enemy has been sufficiently weakened by the poisonous oil, it springs out of its hole once more and drags the enemy down to feed on it.

Well, here they are. I personally like the worm better, but the spider has more development.

Edit: Also, they are not colored because I haven't yet decided what colors to give them. Meh.

Absolution: I have an idea that could help with the /Ground association for your imp thing ( which I love ) that is quick and easy to do. It won't dominate the drawing as I understand you're worried about.

Right now, its eyes are green. Change the colour to an earthy tone such as tan. You'll be suprised how just that can give off a totally different "aura" from the Pokemon. (:

EDIT: That spider Pokemon CyzirVisheen did reminds me a lot of that Spider Virus thing from two of the Digimon movies. I forgot what it was called.

CyzirVisheen, I think your concepts are very well drawn. However, they don't particularly scream "Pokemon" to me. I've pointed this out a few times before in past CAPs, but I feel like creatures that involve extraneous detail and ferocity resemble Digimon too much. In spite of this, I will that out of the two, the second looks more like a Pokemon than the first, but it still suffers from the same problem.

As for omgthatkid95's concept, I'd stick with the small teeth over pinsirs. Ariados already has pinsirs.

(Oh, and X_Presumtuous, I think you're talking about Diaboromon.)

This good? I was really fond of the bright green eyes, but if you think this hits the flavor better, I'm all for it.

A Pokemon responsible for the traumatic poisoning of many unprepared Trainers, who knew not of this species. Records show these Trainers stocked up on many varieties of Poke Balls and Repels, and had access to a device known as a "Poke Radar", before walking directly into the lure of this Pokemon.

... ahahahaha. XD

I like the green eyes, as well. However, the brown might fit the theme better. As an alternative, what if you tweaked the spikes in the rock features. Or brown hues in the smog. All are just ideas, so far you've got my vote 100%.

OH GOD I CAN SEE FOREVER

Jesus...it took me a while to realized what the hell was that. I'm seriously, I thought Lorak had draw a floating pile of shit with some spinach onto it.

Fixed a few things, rebumping for some more input.

This is my entry. He's kind of a porcupine-rat-mole-draftsman. I personally love how it turned out.

The poison type is covered by not only the poisonous spurs on his legs (and noxious-colored coat), but also the poison-coated stylus he draws with.

The ground type is covered by what animals he is primarily comprised of, as they are natural burrowers. He has a very naturalistic apron-like fur pattern as well.

I wanted to make a pokemon that looked like he could draw walls, pull anything out of his pouch to help his team (he's a marsupial, that's no pocket), and spin at will. I wanted to make a pokemon who truly fit the utility concept.
