Has anyone thought of a poisonous mole. I could imagine one (with rocky spikes dripping with poison on its back) coming out with poison-tipped claws to screw your team. And I would seriosly think it would use snatch (huge claws) spikes, toxic spikes and stealth rock to boot. And it would be fast underground.
About two other people, the first quite a while ago.

Hey, since this thread is moving amazingly fast, I was wondering: Anyone know of any animals that have eletrical discharges besides fish (and, well, the Mongolian Death Worm). I'm just trying to give my design more basis in reality, besides y'know only the purported Death Wurm to go off of XD

And yes, I'mma call it a Death Wurm from now on. Because 2-5 ft long is NOT a simple creepy-crawly worm.

(Mostly I'm looking for more basis in reality, to give excuses to how it can use its spikes to do shit like let it learn Gravity.)

lorak, i didnt see them, what pages? 0-o

Hey guys sorry for the long time but i was able to scan some new pictures. As some requested i decided to make my pokemon just a little more badass(but not too much), enough to make him look like he wants to fuk someone up. If enough people like him then ill color it.
p.s. i know some people might think the worm thing is more interesting but i think this pokemon has some possiblites that the worm doesnt

diamondust and houndoom look, i drew this like 7 pages back

Sorry, but I said Mole. Not wierd hedgehog on a drill. And I had another idea, a ground PKMN with rabies.

Here's the colored version:

armadillocopymw6.jpg

I got the red, yellow, black idea from coral snakes ("Red touches yellow, you're a dead fellow. Red touches black, you're ok jack.") I thought about making its skin purple, but then it reminded me way too much of Arbok.

Basically, I don't imagine this guy being very aggressive. Obviously, the bright colors are his warning to others that he's poisonous. If he still feels threatened, he spreads out his fan tail fully and starts waving it around to shoo you away and to create a cloud of dust (Tailwind). While you're distracted by the dust getting in your eyes, he curls into a ball and quickly rolls away.

Alternatively, if he does feel like being more aggressive for whatever reason, he can skip the tail waving/escaping and go directly into ball form and spin quickly (Rapid Spin) while shooting out its poisonous spikes (Spikes/Toxic Spikes).

And lastly, I imagine its pokedex entry saying something about how it's endangered because people like to hunt it for its magical gems. The gems allow it to use moves like Wish, Reflect, Safeguard, etc. I suppose Rock Polish is also a possibility.

I tried to find electric animals and all I got were fish. I couldn't even find the deathworm. Why are you looking for electricity anyway?

now i present The mongloian Worm!

I decided to finish this in regards to people thought, hoping that in return this poke would begin to grow on people. When i created this you can clearly see that i pokemonitized the real worm and gave it some poison and ground attributes. I was at first questioned with the trouble of how i would show his body, that fact is i drew it so that when he moves he tunnels under the ground as showed, kind of like serpents swim. those lines on him are connected to spikes on his back from which you cant see.The only problem with this version of the worm is that he obviously wont have access to moves like encore

Expressing support for Absolution's imp thing, Elagune's whatever-it-is, and Sanglunaria's armadillo. Kizo's worm-like submission, while very impressive, looks a little too "Attack!!" oriented for what we're doing, imo.

That's one helluva fart for such a little fellow. With the addition of green mixed into its smog cloud, it give off even more of a toxic/poisonous feel. Not to sound negative or anything but I kinda wondered how those same pictures would look if he had a tan body.
I was waiting for someone to start making fart jokes about him. Oh well. lol

I really don't have much interest in recoloring him tan anymore. When I asked which color people preferred, only two said Tan over Purple.

Though if you, or anyone else, wants to take that picture and switch the colors, feel free.

Tailwind Smogimp FTW! Perfect coloring, all the things I liked about the original without the nagging "Is it ground enough?" question. Go Smogimp!!!

Well, as the death worm did influence quite a bit of my concept, I thought if I could find some kind of excuse for how it was exactly doing what it is; I guess I'm thinking far too ahead in this in trying to explain the pokemon's abilitys huh? lol

Anyways, here's my concept, kinda hybrid mix between many suggestions thus far; I originally thought of some kind of flying evil little poisonous thing, but when I realized that wasn't going to fly with a ground type (lol) that I should try to think otherwise. A flying, self-coiled snake came to mind with being pretty fast, and pretty utility in things. But since I decided against the flying-snake, I grounded it. Now, meet my Mongolian Death Worm/Arbok crossbred monster whose uncle is Drapion.

Snakelike, I figured a fast enough snake could spin itself to do a rapid spin, as well as, well being a fast poke (if the stats polls are any indication.) Snatch, Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Haze, and even with that (horribly angular incorrect) tail it could use Tailwind. The spines... I'm actually not sure what they CAN do, that's why I was looking for more information on real animals, see what electricity can do; as I see it, they're "sensors", which can affect the air around them slightly. Basically, a tool to get it to use this energy in the air which would allow it the use of the more spiritual moves; IE Safeguard, Wish, Gravity, etc. (magnetism for gravity BTW). Encore by clicking its mandibles (I can make them more mandible-like) and by clapping its legs together? :P

More on its design; it is very bug-like, yes I know that. But I have made it as non-bug as I could. I imagine it being the cousin of Drapion, this guy's pre-evo being like bug/ground or bug/poison; Bug group and Field/Ground group would be the egg groups. The foreclaws, legs, w/e have a shovel-like design to them because it IS ground; it uses them to dig. And I think I don't need to say how this thing is clearly venomous...

After feedback I'll change it or if it's good as it is I can clean it up better, unfortunately I do not have the means to color it though... (dunno about which should be which, between the top and bottom of the main body purple or brown; purple on top brown on bottom LOOKS best, but brown top purple bottom makes more sense, since the brown would be disguising into the ground more... oh and the legs/forearms are tan as well.)

Electric eels have electric organs that contain many cells called electrocytes. I don't really know how the cells produce electricity but they do. Also, I really like your artwork and it doesn't necessarily have to be the Bug type to be bug-looking.

I really liked this design, Salamenceslasher. I believe it captures the posion/ground typing nicely. It doesn't appear overly powerful, which would imply a sweeper style Pokemon. It appears to fit the role of a supporting Pokemon well. I could easily see it setting up stealth rocks, a barrier, or spikes. The most important thing is that your drawing, I feel, captured the "cartoonish/simplistic" Pokemon style. Nice submission. Way to put a good effort into this endeavor.

P.S. Maybe if you color it, it will attract some more attention.

Speaking of which, I made two colour variations on my picture.

I'm not sure which one to stay with, however. Although I'm more fond of the colour scheme on the first one, the body designs look better on the second. I'll leave it up to you guys to help.

It is so......... amazing!!!! I think I am going to cry.

Elagune, my two cents: Keep the body design of the second, but reverse the colors to make it look more like the first; purple mass body, with the secondary designs and hair/whatever the tan/ground-color.

I've caught myself up on the CAP project, and I really think this matches all the criteria that's been set forth. Rapid Spin is obvious, I can see him pulling spikes out of his little chair thing, Tail Wind with that crazy hair do, high defenses by hiding in that basket, with no hint of any offensive power whatsoever. Just add a pair of rocket boosters on the sides to give it speed, and it matches perfectly.

Plus it's so darned cute!

BTW, has anyone done a porcupine design?

He's got a bit of mole in there somewhere.

I believe that is supposed to be some kind of mole/porcupine. /Hedgehog.

Yeah, pretty much.

This is my entry. He's kind of a porcupine-rat-mole-draftsman.

The poison type is covered by not only the poisonous spurs on his legs (and noxious-colored coat), but also the poison-coated stylus he draws with.

The ground type is covered by what animals he is primarily comprised of, as they are natural burrowers. He has a very naturalistic apron-like fur pattern as well.

I wanted to make a pokemon that looked like he could draw walls, pull anything out of his pouch to help his team (he's a marsupial, that's no pocket), and spin at will. I wanted to make a pokemon who truly fit the utility concept.

thankyou, at least 3 people like it, maybe if i get 1 more person i might actually color it

I'd vote for this. I think that you should swap the 2 pictures, so 2nd has the first's main color, and the markings are in brown I would guess.

that was why i created it because it met all the cretia, but no one liked it

I like this creature quite a bit myself. Actually, to be honest, I like all the ideas on this thread.

I'll probably sketch up a design myself, though it won't come 'til tomorrow. I don't know how well it will stand up to the talent oozing out of this board, but I'll try my best.
