2. once i discovered this i immediatly got my smeargle to learn belly drum and aqua jet. i did the procces described in the first step in a double battle.

3. now ditto has both moves i bred ditto with a female marril and sure enough the hatched marril had both moves.

the reason why this is important is because in theory it could change the whole illegal movesets issue.

should this be considored a legitimate set. and im sorry if this is in the wrong section but it didnt seem to go anywhere else

This glitch (and the one you mentioned about Darkrai and Shaymin) were only found in early versions of the Japanese Diamond\Pearl. They are not found in any other language version or any Japanese DP produced after that. No, they are not considered legitimate movesets.
 
It's been a while since I last checked, but I believe Smogon does not consider Shaymin to be legitimate. But that is not a discussion for the Research Lab thread - take it to simple questions, simple answers.
 
no worry i'm actually recording a video soon. with the whole proccess. though i've been informed the ditto glitch can only be in JP games but same with shaymin so i think it deserves considoration

Got a question, does a Pokemon with Normalize have Hidden Power Normal?
 
I don't think it's HP Normal..., rather when you use HP it's considered Normal in the damage calculation... though that's just my guess
 
well phalanx it can only be japanese. i've seen a bunch of people running around with american shaymins. all i'm saying is it should be takin into considoration
 
I'd like to see more of this glitched Ditto from the American version, if you can post the vid and/or submit it for hack checking that would be appreciated.
 
ok well...i haveant tried it in american because...i dont have one in my american though i am about to narrate me doing it in japanese version of pearl witch was recently purchased directly from japan witch means the glitch isnt yet fixed
 
So what do I do here?I just go on, test something, and post it here?I think a partner would be of use, too...

The method of getting Shaymin and Darkrai in early DP has no relation to the completely different method of getting any egg-move combination (as well as any move on Pokemon that can Transform in any way).
 
Guy constantly talking about hack checking: Hack checking is not a 100% foolproof infallible way to prove something isn't hacked. I don't think you did, but don't act as if anything can ever be proven legit as this is VERY FALSE.
 
I was reading the abilities dex, and didn't see this. Does Clefable actually get fully paralyzed with Magic Guard? I've used one for a while and have been paralyzed many a time, but have never actually "felt" the paralysis outside of the speed drop. Has this issue been reviewed yet?

I think you just got really lucky... since Magic Guard should only prevent indirect damage (besides Pain Split or something), like Poison/Burn, Spikes, Sandstorm/Hail, even Life Orb Recoil...

They are completely different glitches. That's like saying "Pikachu is a Pokemon and it's not uber Deoxys-A is also a Pokemon why is it uber?".

And we did know you could use those Ditto to breed, thus removing all illegal egg move combinations.
 
Umm, how much of this research is completed. I saw that the first two posts were last updated in April and May, respectively.

Can somebody re-vamp those posts, because I'm really anxious to get some of this info.
 
what research. study has been done on the ditto thing. you can transfer the moves in any japanese copy of the game to ditto. the ditto can be traded into another version and breed to get the illegal combination.it cannot pass moves the poke couldent normally learn. and i am not sure if you can transfer moves via UK pokemon. i know it can't be done on american.

and obi if it you knew it could breed why has there been no videos on it. no discussion. i have actually seen posts saying ditto cant breed.
 
ok, I'm not sure if this has been answered yet, but I don't recall ever seeing it answered...
Imprison: If you get new moves, are the new moves Imprisoned? For example, if you use Imprison, then use Sketch or Mimic on Rock Throw, is Sketch / Mimic still imprisoned, and is Rock Throw now imprisoned?

I believe Imprison only seals moves that you know at the time your opponent tries to pick an attack/after you Imprison. I found this out while I was trying to build another team for the Qualifiers in which I use Bronzong and Smeargle, Bronzong Blocks one opponent and Smeargle Imprisons, next turn Smeargle Transforms into the Blocked opponent and completely seals them. I tested this having Smeargle Imprison, then Transform into a Buizel on my brother's game. On my brother's game it had said Buizel has no more moves and Buizel Struggled on that turn.
Though I wish to know if Imprison is Baton Passable...
