The lines on the chest are just representative..to show the buggy parts ...
Oh yeah and since its part fire..its gonna have a flaming bottom and possibly small flames on the antennae with maybe flame engulfed claws..

You might want to fix that neck line before you finish. There are several smaller things that need to be fixed, too, but I trust you to get them. Decent outline and it will stay decent as long as you don't give it that mouth that's in the sketch. Seriously.

Cute, isn't he? This is certainly not my best work; it isn't terrible either. As I said earlier, I don't prefer working with smaller subjects, but I suppose I'm capable enough. Tweaking the lineart to my liking wasn't an easy task, and even now, I know it's not perfect. Even some smaller official sprites ended up "squashed up", for lack of a better term, like this too. After the lineart was done, I was somewhat burned out on this project, so I decided to use Zangoose's palette instead of creating my own. Sue me (though some Pokémon use the same palette even after evolution such as Corphish and Crawdaunt; and Sandshrew and Sandslash). Hope you guys like it. Oh, and did I mention that his name is Monzing?

Its a Koala baby type thing. I have no idea if this looks good or bad since I have vista. Vista=low res=fuzzy

@headpunch, line art looks good, but its shading looks a little flat. I would put more of the lighter shade on the tail to make it look more 3-D and I would shade the head a little more. It looks nice though.
 
Unfortunately, what you're saying it looks like is correct; however, I emulated the same shading on Zangoose's head (the shading is a barely visible light gray) and body. Monzing isn't as large, though, so it's less noticeable (part of the reason I don't like smaller scratches). Also, any more of the lighter shade on the tail would almost make it too light imo. Good eye for details, though. I like that kind of criticism.

I apologize for not telling you this earlier, but you need to learn how to do Pokémon style flames. You can't do much about their actual color, but the lineart itself could be better. Also of note, you still didn't fix that neck line; it should be curved more to the left instead of simply being the bottom of a circle. I'll show you what I mean if you still don't understand. Its four bottom legs are unnaturally straight; you might want to try curving them. The fire ball on its left antennae looks like it's barely connected. I suppose all in all, it looks decent. The design never struck me as a roach, though. It looks like a mantis with mantis eyes, head, neck, and arms. It also appears to be wearing a turtle shell.
 
I understand what you mean..I am very bad at drawing flames..
Not my best one...I liked Igniworm much more....
Is it just me or does it look uncomfortably like Kricketune without the flames??

Thanks. I'll look at the legs next time I get the chance, but I think Absir'd may be the best sprite I have done.

At one point I was trying to make an evo for some pokemon that deserved it, but I only did 8 before I lost interest.
 
Lanturn evo looks kinda..weird near the tail...it should really be an alternate evo to chinchou
What happened faze? Why are you in trouble?

Woah, hold up there. You used 6 colors total in that sprite. Try using 9 more. You put shadow along the front of its body, none on the head or arms, and it possesses no highlights whatsoever. You also colored over one of its outline pixels. I have to admit, though, the lineart isn't half bad. :B
 
Just posting to say that if the scratching craze continues the thread will most likely die down to: MetalGar, HeadPunch, GOO, and DarthVader.

But how can we get more people to join? Faze has stopped for some reason(so it seems) and is in trouble. So I dont think anyone has a link to this in their sig and in other forums. Its not like I am doing stuff to make this die...
I already got a mascot thanks to Lorak(who is amazing) and have almost reached #100 ( although I have done more than that).

Maybe Ill post the whole dex till now with voltorb and link it to my sig?

I said if the scratching craze continues the thread will die down. That implies that people are leaving because of said craze.

Of course I don't have any proof that the craze is causing people to leave. However I know for a fact that Faze left for that reason, and that DiamondDust was also unhappy with the state of the thread.
 
I can still post, and I'm still doing the mewdex, but until this spriting craze dies down, my sprites will stay to serebii eyes only
