Pokemon Platinum - The definitive thread: Mach 2 (In-Game Discussion)

Let's just wait till 13th and then test Skymin more.
Note to Syberia: Have you tested if land Shymin can keep the Skymin's moves like Air Slash?

It's possible that this is how Game Freak is dealing with the type change problem. D/P can shift a Pokemon's stats, but can't shift a Pokemon's type (otherwise hackers'd be doing it all over the place), so it's incompatible and therefore banned.

That would suck, but it sounds logical. :/

I'm not sure that it matters whether or not Sky Form Shaymin can be used on WiFi, since it still exists as a Pokemon in-game and can easily be input into Shoddy/any other battle simulator.

it does matter because everyone will want to simulate the game 100%, sort of like how arceus is banned in ubers, which is the stupidest thing ever. Who the fuck cares if Arceus hasn't been released? Is having it released going to change anything about it's stats, movepool, or ability?

Same thing will probably happen with sky shaymin, unfortunately. Hopefully there will be a way for it to be used on wifi.

On a different topic, I just hit Eterna City and met Cynthia, and I didn't get an egg.

What gives?
Have an open slot in your party?

Shoddy tries to simulate the game. In the game you can't battle with Arceus, and right now you can't battle with Skymin either.

would it be possible to see what you've got so far? the new level-up moves and tutor moves are what interests me the most.

also freakin' SWEET Scizor gets Bullet Punch!

I'm almost done, I'm on magnezone...

and i hate the word feint

There will probably be a way; remember, we saw it being used in a battle with the bars in the corner for signal strength. At the very least, it should be included in extended game on Shoddy.

I had a grand total of two Pokemon in my party (Staravia and Grotle), and nothing.

Maybe you get it from the Hiker in Hearthome instead?

well you can't get perfect IVs or shinies at the click of a mouse ingame either. And yes you can battle with Arceus, it's in the game's coding, I just don't understand why we should wait for Nintendo to host some half assed Arceus event in NYC in order to use a pokemon that we've known existed for years and have made movesets and counters for. I don't want to turn this thread into an Arceus debate so I'll stop now.

Does anyone know if there are elemental punches? Or do we know any of the move tutors? I think read that outrage and hydro pump could be some.

The only reason that anyone thinks that those are tutors is because the movesets of the alternate forms have seemingly not been decoded correctly yet.
Ex: None of the new Rotoms show any new moves, same with Origin Giratina. So people thought the only other way to get the move was via move tutor.

IMO the elemental 120/140 BP moves as tutors would be insane. right now all that's proven (I think) is Seed Bomb. I'm way out of the loop though (been having downtime with my pc in the shop)

Shoddy simulates every possibility within the games mechanics, not "what's probable"

And no tutors have been confirmed yet, and neither have the movesets completely (for the new forms anyways)

I'm seriously loving LO BP Scizor
here begins the endless confusion of BP meaning Baton Pass or Bullet Punch...
punches would be win.
I wouldn't go for that. The Elemental fangs I'd like to see as tutors. then again, my only reason for not wanting the punches would be that it'd devalue Emerald almost completely.
Ok Here it is
