Pokemon Platinum - The definitive thread: Mach 3 (Competitive Discussion)

Can anyone tell me if Electrolevitate on Ampharos is any good? I mean, will it be used in one of its future movesets? I want to plan ahead and breed for it now! <3

It could possibly work like magnezone using substitute/magnet rise/thunderbolt/hidden power (grass, maybe ice, maybe ground?). It's bulky and has a good deal of spatk, at least for UU.

EvilMario - it has recover! hehe

Yeah... Recover > Synthesis, unless you're running a weird Sunny team. In which case, you shouldn't be using Cradily as your special wall.

Oooh cool. Could it work with Discharge and Signal Beam replacing Thunderbolt and HP?

I don't think I can wait a month for Shoddy to update with Platinum stuff. I want it now : [

Rotoms get nothing good iirc =[

Can someone remind me of all ampharos's tutor moves if they've been discovered? I can't find it...

Someone please check ARCANINE. He Should get Volt Tackle lol but seriously, he could do with something other than Flare Blitz (Superpower?!!!)

I can see the little Lawnmower Rotom cutting out (pun intended) a little niche for itself in UU as a good Choice Specs pokemon.

Grass, Ghost and Electric hits everything quite hard, even Steelix and Lanturn. With Trick or Hidden Power in the last slot, it could rape face!

I'm thinking:

Lawnmower Rotom @ Choice Specs
Modest
36 HP / 252 SpA / 220 Spe

Leaf Storm
Thunderbolt
Shadow Ball
Trick

Outruns positive bases 70s with 263 speed. Hits hard with 508 special attack. Leaf Storm does 91-108% to Special Sponge Lanturn, and 72-84% to standard Steelix. HELL YEAH!!

Shadow Ball rapes those Psychic special walls, and Thunderbolt kills everything else.

This is going to be the Rotom I'm using anyways.

iirc, it gets Thunderpunch and Seed Bomb.

It's not obsolete due to Skymin, due to the fact that it still has that kickass physical movepool.
Hm. That's all? I was really hoping for Earth Power, just to better hit steels.

Besides, Shaymin *might* turn uber, so he still might be a great Subseeder in OU.

Ampharos: Fire Punch, ThunderPunch, Outrage, Signal Beam and Magnet Rise.

I think there are more but these are what I found. First 4 are from Snowpoint.

Please someone check on shaymin?

well stellar you can't really blame people for not going back a few pages lol

can someone maybe nominate themself as "updater" guy? I know RB Golbat would appreciate just having to follow updater guy as opposed to going through ten pages at a time.

it would be much appreciated =)

Ya know, I used to experiment with SDance Cradily early DP. Being unphazable is cool, but with Waters being its prime enemy, its fun and all having that Earth/Rock tandem but it ain't gonna dent stuff like Suicune or Vaporeon or Swampert anytime soon. Now that it has Seed Bomb though, a bulky SDance set seems viable. Dance/Bomb/Edge/Recover seems pretty nifty. Ofcourse, steels wall you, as do Grassers, but they can't do a lot back either. Surprise DanceCradily in a SStorm team? Who knows...

Stellar and dbolt posted already lots of pokemon...Arael and other user too

you'll find Arcanine few pages back...

Maybe can anyone update the first page posting all the tutor moves discovered until no, so people can read it and stop to asking for pokemon that other user already posted?
