Go tell it on the mountain, over the hill...Bah. (UU RMT)

This team is a team I just thought of because Shoddy ain't working for me today, and I was thinking how great UU Rain-Dance teams are. Whatever, here it is, a mono Rain Dance team. Heh, I felt like putting in the record, so here it is: 11-4. Clever.

electrode.png

Electrode@Damp Rock
Static
252 Att/28 SpA/228 Spe
Hasty
(1)Rain Dance
(2)Explosion
(3)Thunder
(4)Taunt

Standard Rain Dance Electrode lead, Focus Sash could be better, but the extra turns of Rain are very helpful, so treat this as a suicide lead, Rain Dance style. Takes care of Swellow, which is a major problem. Taunts Venemoth/Butterfree, so they get ruined.

gorebyss.png

Gorebyss@Life Orb
Swift Swim
252 SpA/26 HP/232 Spe
Timid
(1)Surf
(2)Ice Beam
(3)HP Grass
(4)Psychic

1st Rain Dance Sweeper, the extra speed is for outspeeding pretty much everything holding a Scarf. Psychic over Shadow Ball for Poliwrath, HP Grass for Quagsire.

kabutops.png

Kabutops@Life Orb
Swift Swim
252 Att/200 HP/56 Spe
Adamant
(1)Waterfall
(2)Night Slash
(3)X-Scissor
(4)Rock Slide

2nd Rain Sweeper, physical this time. Aerial Ace would give me more coverage for things like Poliwrath, but Night Slash is really helpful for Rotom and Froslass.

venusaur.png

Venusaur@Specs
Overgrow
252 SpA/236 HP/22 Spe
Modest
(1)Leaf Storm
(2)HP Fire
(3)Sludge Bomb
(4)Sleep Powder

Overkill power. Helps with Lanturn, and bulldozes stuff. Also takes care of many UU threats/walls, like Claydol/Steelix/Poliwrath. Can really help with some threats late game.

steelix.png

Steelix@Leftovers
Sturdy
252 HP/120 Att/136 SpD
Impish
(1)Stealth Rock
(2)Earthquake
(3)Gyro Ball
(4)Roar

Sets up my Stealth Rocks, and walls just about every physical attacker. Gyro Ball > Stone Edge. Scyther/Clefable Counter.

manectric.png

Manectric@Petaya Berry
Static
252 SpA/6 HP/252 Spe
Timid
(1)Substitute
(2)Rain Dance
(3)Thunderbolt
(4)HP Grass

Weird set, huh. Well, this thing helps a freaking ton, and is very unexpected. It can also sweep a bit, and Electric-Grass provide decent coverage. I normally switch it in on Choiced Electrics or something, and then re-set up my Chocolate Rain.

Threat List:

Glaceon: Kabutops
Swellow: Steelix/Gorebyss/Electrode

Rotom: Another pain, but Kabutops can Night Slash and other can KO.
Ninetales: Kabutops/Gorebyss
Hitmontop: Steelix/Gorebyss
Absol: Steelix
Froslass: Major pain. Gorebyss.

Manectric: Hopefully Gorebyss
Articuno: Stealth Rocks/Kabutops
Scyther: Stealth Rocks/Kabutops
Drapion: Steelix
Jynx: Not a threat to this team.
Nidos: Not a threat.
Clefable: Hopefully Kabutops

Linoone: Doesn't ever get to set up. Ever.
Leafeon: Steelix/Manectric
Lapras: Not a threat.

Well, I edited it again, with more correct info, so this should get more rates.

Can't think of anything to say. Except that Manectric wants Thunder instead of Thunderbolt, considering this IS a Rain Dance team.

In case you didn't know, in Rain, Thunder has 100% accuracy. And after STAB, has 37 1/2 higher base power.

I can't think of anything else to say. Good luck with the team.

Yes...I know that. D'oh. But what I'm saying is that because I only have 1 Rain Dance, I might be my downfall.

You type Venesaur while it is Venusaur :( You may also consider Clamperl over Gorebyss for those supersurfs with rain dance. It's a shame that he hasn't got enough speed or defenses. I'd also suggest using another rain dancer (like Claydol) Good luck with your team

All I can really say is that you might need another rain dancer. Electrode might not last long and then your rain strategy won't work. I'm not to experienced with it, but you definately want another if you want the rain to keep coming.

Rofl, fixed. Clamperl just sucks without TR support...D'oh. 32 base speed, no Swift Swim? I don't think Claydol is really needed, and opens me up to abuse from physical sweepers like Absol. Thanks!

The thing is, I really don't need the rain to keep coming. 6 turns is normally enough to sweep with Gorebyss/Kabutops. And, Electrode isn't meant to last long. It will probably get OHKO'd on this first turn. The point is to set up Rain Dance, and Explode. Then I sweep with my RD sweepers, and use the others as well.

Yea i ran rain team, its pretty hard to win w/only 8 turns of rain when your team depends on it. If Venasuar learns throw it in over Sludge Bomb since HP Fire fire hits grass anyway; losing a reliable STAB but if you really want to keep sleep powder isnt really neccisary so you can drop it.

Sleep Powder is mostly filler. And it turns out that Venusaur doesn't learn Rain Dance. Ugh.

Claydol was only an example, like other people said, you could use another rain dancer in a rain dance team. @donovantx8 Venusaur doesn't learn rain dance and you used VenAsaur:(

After reading some of these, I decided I pretty much need another RD user, so...which one can I use? Lanturn is the obvious choice, but maybe I could get crazy. Or just keep Manectric, and go with this set:

Manectric@Petaya Berry
Static
252 SpA/ Defence/Speed
Timid
Substitute
Rain Dance
Thunder
HP Grass

What do you think?

Gastrodon over Steelix could work as a second Rain Dancer. It can absorb electric moves for the team and set up Rocks too. Recover is nice but you only have 4 moveslots!

HP Fire on Venusaur is a bit silly in the rain :S Venusaur altogether doesn't look like it fits in the team. Something like Drifblim or a substitute passer could help you open up sweeps faster. I'd definately recommend another Rain Dancer in that case as you'll need the extra turns.

Hmm...Gastrodon might work, but I like the defensive pressure Steelix puts into the team. (Worded that wrong -.-)

Venusaur how been working wonders so far, countering the Rain Dance counters, and just destroying stuffs. And, I already have Manectric. Having many Rain Dancers is overrated.
