Couple of noob questions for a competitive beginner:

If you use something like swords dance, switch out and then back in at a later time, do you keep the stat change? No

If pokemon "a" uses mean look on pokemon "b" but pokemon "a" uses baton pass to bring out pokemon "c", is pokemon "b" still unable to switch out?No it can not switch out

Does baton pass give the new poke negative stat changes if the passer had them?Yes.

How exactly do things like swords dance and nasty plot effect your stats? If lets say I had an attack of 300 and I used swords dance, how much higher does it get? What about dragon dance?
swords dance is +2 stages, Dragon dance is +1 stage for speed and attack. 300+ (300 X 1.5) + (300 X 1.5) = 600.
Each stage is 1.5 times the original amount.

Never happened eh? On the file bin on Pokesav.org [under legit shinies] there's a 31/31/31/31/31/31 Shiny modest Bagon with Hydro Pump. Just wondering if it's a possible IV combination.

You do realise that the Pokesav file bin is full of hacked pokes, right? It is possible to breed a Shiny Pokemon with any combination of IVs, so the only "legit" thing about the Modest Bagon is that it is remotely possible. And by remotely I mean a 1 in 500 million kind of chance.

Sure it COULD be Legit but do you have any idea the odds? I mean just look at the odds of breeding a 31/31/31/31/31/31 with 2 parrents having the same IV's (perfect all the way down), the odds are already a staggering: 1:59,916 THEN you have that 1:8,192, so your final odds of getting a 31/31/31/31/31/31 SHINY pokemon WITH 2 parrents with 31/31/31/31/31/31 IV's is:

1:490,831,872

Statisticly, it IS impossible. Technically, possible...but the odds are so severely against you I wouldn't believe it to ever be true unless I witnessed it myself (and somehow KNEW there was NO ar involved).

Not quite 500 million :pimp:

I'm curious to know exactly how the Metronome item works.

How much does it increase the power of consecutive attacks per use?

Not entirely sure this is the right place for this, but I really need it answered and the ShoddyBattle site forum is dead.

I can't launch Shoddy at college. Java is always "unable to launch application," and I think it has something to do with the Network Authentication page our school uses to validate users. If anyone has experience with Java, here's the error:

"Error: The following required field is missing from the launch field: </jnlp>

I've tried reinstalling shoddy and updating Java to no avail.

Is there a way to find out a Pokemon's PID? I'm having trouble computing all the numbers. Is there a working calculator?

I'm curious to know exactly how the Metronome item works.

How much does it increase the power of consecutive attacks per use?

Starts at 1.0x and increases by .1x per turn (1.0, 1.1, 1.2... ) up to 2.0.

I believe a link is included in the very same guide you're looking at.

Heh, y'know I can't download Shoddy in some places and I get a very similar message. Although I cannot really explain the cause for it.
Why can't you register right now?

Would A Beautifly Swarm Set Be Viable?

After looking at the Mothim analysis I realized that Beautifly could accomplish a similar swarm set. Even though Beautifly has a little bit lower stats than Mothim it does have stun powder in it's arsenal, but is that enough to incorporate the same effectiveness as Mothim's swarm set? This is the right place to ask this right?

What happened to my post count? I had over 500 a few months ago, I just noticed now I have 284.
you likely had many posts in the previous simple q&a thread(s), and it got deleted.
My post count dropped by about 160.... so I'm quite pissed myself.

Guys, post count really doesn't matter, ha ha.

@Al_Alchemist: Yes, Beautifly could pull off that Swarm set, replacing its lack of Air Slash with Stun Spore or something like Energy Ball/Psychic.

Does Focus Sash activate once per pokemon or only once? If you Trick a Focus Sash after it has activated, will it still activate for the new owner or be a dead item?

But there is a glitch in Shoddy Battle that allows you to use Trick even if you are not holding an item.
e.g.
Heatran uses Fire Blast on Celebi,
Celebi's Occa Berry activates,
Celebi uses Trick,
Celebi gets Choice Scarf, Heatran gets nothing

This is not how it happens in-game, where Trick fails if you are no longer holding an item.

I thought Trick worked like Thief if you're holding no item?
