Yeah... I made it a point a while back to get one of each Safari Festival Pokemon. Never really finished doing that, but I got more than a fair chunk of them.
My two best Scythers weren't really good, either:
Relaxed #123 Scyther: 21 - 24 / 13 - 15 / 19 - 22 / 26 / 19 - 22 / 5 - 7
Lonely #123 Scyther: 13 - 16 / 11 - 14 / 6 - 9 / 4 - 7 / 1 - 5 / 26
If I have any say in the matter, I am against trading.
The whole point of this "festival" was to catch your own Pokemon, then use them in the tournament. If someone caught a max speed/attack Scyther and traded it to everyone, it would make it less interesting.
The contest is trying to make people creative. I just think trading defeats the purpose.

holy shit I just a caught a safari pokemon with 22+ in everything. I'll definately be using this :D

Related note, no doing things like trading a Pokemon over, evolving to a Pokemon with a new fourth-gen ability, and using a Platinum tutor for the punches when the previous form couldn't get them. I don't want third-gen tutors mixed with fourth-gen abilities if the third-gen Pokemon can't learn the moves before the Pal Parking.

This. I'd love to have some people more familiar with metagame balance help out for the second Festival. This first one is more of a test of how the concerns that came up in the first thread work out.
And, of course, for having fun. :V

Soooo just theorymoning...that means, no plat tutored (that already existed 3rd gen) moves on let's say a quick feet Ursaring? But it would be okay on a Guts Ursaring.
Out of curiosity, would something like technician Ambipom be banned? It'd have to be evolved in Pearl and would have a chance of changing to tech.
