Top two will advance? Does that mean there will be two evo's at the same time? Or will there be another poll? Anyway, I'm SO reminded of the US election campaign!
 
aaah, I really don't want to vote for Farfetch'd. I feel like we will tarnish Farfetch'd awesomeness. I mean what will we even call a Farfetch'd evo?

I guess Houndoom, since he's such a G.
 
Voted for Farfetch'd since everyone provided good reasoning, plus I just think it'd be an interesting experiment.
 
voted Girafarig since it would be sweet to make an evolution for, but I think farfetch'd had this won before the project started. Well, farfetch'd is cool too.
 
I'm voting Girafarig. Farfy is fun and all, but as brought up before, he would prolly be either too fanoybish (olol Close Combat), or a Staraptor clone. I'd rather we worked on Girafarig, who has a unique type potential, an already interesting movepool, and the underpresented ability Early Bird to work with.

No, there will be a poll with the top two, unless one choice gets more than 50% of the vote in this poll. Voted Farfetch'd, for reasons in the other poll.
 
Farfetch'd and Pinsir, in my opinion, deserve an evolution more.
They've been around a lot longer, surviving on the stats they were given in the very first games.
I voted Pinsir because:

A) I like Pinsir
B) I like Bugs
C) Pinsir doesn't get the credit it deserves with Hera around.
D) A Farfetch'd evolution would be a bit like Probopass: Better in some ways than Nosepass but let down by similar shortcomings.
 
voted girafarig

out of all the choices i think girafarig since the most interesting to me.normal/psychic is interesting though never seen in standard play wich can be solve by evolving girefarig.It will be interestign with early bird and how much we will center around it.It also has a nice movepool,with improve stats it can become a beter pokemon and finally be used more
 
Cool. Thanks tennisace. But one problem I've had with CaP's in general is... there's virtually no one on the server. Seriously it's worse than the Uber ladder on Smogon. Anyway, voted for Farf(ftw). It has balanced stats, so it could be a mixed sweeper for all we know. Just don't be prejudiced by stuff like 'OMG! Brave Bird and Close Combat! Stick!', etc. I wouldn't mind if Houndoom wins too. Excellent (offensive) typing, good offenses, Houndoom+ could shake up OU nicely.

It usually picks up around 5 PM EST.

I wouldn't mind if Houndoom wins too. Excellent (offensive) typing, good offenses, Houndoom+ could shake up OU nicely.

Thats my whole problem. Its BL already. It has Nasty Plot, Fire Blast, Dark Pulse, and the hidden power of your choice. What more does it need, a stat increase? Focus Blast? Voting Houndoom for the cool factor is all well and good, just be aware it's not much more than a speed increase.

Thats not to say Farfetch'd is the best choice either. Sure, we all want it to be Fighting/Flying, since Normal is a throw-away STAB on Duel Type Pokemon. But will it win? Who knows?

Personally, I like the versatility a new Bulky Flying type would bring. So I voted Farfetch'd.
 
My vote just tipped it in Houndoom's favor looks like it will be between him and Farfetch'd, still wondering why shinx didnt get a dark typing, lol just saw one post

How do we improve on Farfetch'd's name?
 
Voting Girafarig. An evo of Farfetch'd would be too similar to Staraptor. Also Houndoom is powerful enough as is.
 
woot! my vote brings houndoom into the lead :)

For those who believe that Houndoom is good as it is, look at Electabuzz, Rhydon and Dusclops. They all have base stat totals similar to Houndooms, and before the evolutions from DPP, they were also UU/OU/BL. All three evolutions are not going to overpower the metagame like Skymin or Scizor, but they can very well make you pay when you're unprepared. I believe this is the type role that we would want our first EVO to be.
Electabuzz, Rhydon, and Dusclops can be effective in OU but not effective enough to make them pay for being unprepared. Houndoom CAN be effective, but it just needs a little more in order to make an impact on the metagame.
Electivire is famous for hitting 13 of 17 types for SE damage, alongside great attacking stats and a means to increase his good speed via Motor Drive. Rhyperior is a force to be reckoned with, especially with Sandstorm and specially defensive EVs and natures. It can take hits and hit you back with its amazing attack stat. Dusknoir replaces Dusclops as a rapid spin blocker, and the increased stats definitely help.
All of these evolutions aren't "necessary" for these Pokemon to be great, but it definitely helps.
 
Voted Banette, but now I want to vote for Houndoom :/ A physical ghost-type pokémon would be awesome (and Banette is one of my favorite pokémon), but we already have Revenankh, and a Houndoom v2.0 would be a even better addition to the metagame.

As long as Farfetch'd and Pinsir don't win, I'm fine.
