When are there usually users on the CAP server? I come on sometimes in the afternoon looking for a fast battle but I usually see no one and log off.

It usually has about 15-20 regulars on at about 5 EST as tennis said, and now that the metaserver is back on it should be much busier.
Now for my question: With all the crashes and the server being down, is there anything being done, or anything that any of the regulars can do that can help?

I can't speak for Doug about anything being done, but I know there's nothing you can do.

It sure would help if the server mods would tell me when the server goes down. I hate hearing that the server has been down for 22 hours, only after reading this in the SQSA thread. The server is up now.

For now, we have created Persistent, Mountaineer and "Ancient Beam". They're exclusive for some of the CAP pokémon, but could it be that, in the future, we'll add them to other already-existing pokémon? Say, will we ever have a "project" to discuss who could get Ancient Beam?

This was discussed at some point (I don't remember exactly when, I think X-Act brought up an issue that is linked: Changing Garchomp's movepool to not have fire moves.) and the general consensus was no.

Here is an extract from the CaP mission statement:
  • We are NOT interested in changing existing ingame Pokémon. This includes their typing, movepools, abilities, breeding characteristics, etc.
So unless that was changed the answer is no.
No other Pokemon will get the new move other than possibly a future CaP.

OK, I have a qyuick question: What the fuck is going on with the EVO project? (sorry for my un-needed rude language, I'm just so confused)

It's been postponed due to the "gorm storm", which showed us the process needs some tweaking.

I believe the solution was to tweak the process and try again after CAP 6.

After Cap 6 ???!!?! thats such a long way away! So we have to create another pokemon after Stratagem before we can start up the EVO project?

Actually Doug said that he would consider remaking the PROCESS after CAP 6, so you've got quite a ways to go there. For all intents and purposes, EVO is dead.

After we have playtested Stratagem, and I believe after we've finished its analysis.

If you're so excited for the next CAP, I suggest you go to CAP's Server and play a little (I mean, a lot) there; people can only get so far with just theorymon. Take your time to playtest Stratagem, it wants some e-love.

Wait, so Stratagem's in the CAP server already? Or do I have to download that thing againthat puts the CAP pokes into shoddy?

Not yet. Doug is going to implement it when he has time, but you will have to update sprites if you don't want it to be represented by the standard Missingno. sprite once it's online.

I know this sounds stupid, but it's late. What would you guys think about a small create-an-item mini-project? It doesn't even have to be executed, but perhaps some sort of way to see if things like items will have an effect on the meta-game. Before Fidgit came about, I had hoped that maybe Platinum would have brought something like a Dimension Box, which would extend Trick Room from 5 to 8 turns or something, and wondering if that would have raised the usage of TR teams.

Granted, items would have to be very carefully balanced, but other ideas included a Shock Orb, which would paralyze the holder (for Quick Feet users).

So yup, just wondering about other's thoughts on this...

why's that ?_?

edit:
i reread doug's post on why he closed evo, and mostly what he said that "EVO damaged the community heaviy and we should forget about it for while". I personally am at odds with such reasoning. I think if we are in complete dissarray about what to do with evo, we should get those thoughts out now and start figuring stuff out now while the problems are still fresh in our heads. I have alot of stuff i want to submit as far as a new process and i know I'm not alone.

i promise not to be a dick about this ~__~

edit edit:
discussed with people on the server, apparently alot of PR threads are coming out so i guess ill post in the relevant ones.

Don't start proposing items in the SQSA thread. And certainly don't try to start a discussion with "just wondering about other's thoughts on this". This is a thread for answering basic questions.

At best, your post is a proposal regarding the CAP project policy. There is a process for proposing stuff like this, it's called Policy Review. See the sticky threads for more information about Policy Reviews.

Where can I get the sprites for the new Pokemon so that I can see them on Shoddy? (I haven't played on the CAP server since Skylant)
