Ask a simple question, get a simple answer (CAP Edition)

How long does it generaly take for the next CaP to start? Just until the PR threads die down, or is there a fixed time?
To my knowledge, there is no "fixed time", but there is usually a gap between the completion of one CAP and the beginning of the next. This is to allow sufficient time for the community to be focused exclusively on playtesting and other things (Like Policy Review), but if I were to make an approximation of how long this lasts, I would say 2-3 weeks.

I have updated the OP of this thread to clarify a few rules. I've noticed this thread has been off-track quite a bit, so I added the following to the OP:

  • Do not start discussions in this thread. This is for simple questions that are expected to have a simple answer. If your question is an open-ended discussion-starter, it will be moderated.

  • Do not continue discussions in this thread. Provide a simple answer to a posted simple question, or do not post at all.

  • This is not a place to post your ideas/concerns/problems/issues with the CAP project, simply because you "can't find any other place to post". If that is your reason for posting here, your post is almost certainly inappropriate here and will be moderated.

I've noticed that experienced project members have been responding to posted simple answers, and turning this thread into a mini-discussion thread. It's fine to respond, if someone else's answer is incorrect, or requires modification. But, do not use a posted answer as a launching point for a discussion. The OP rule about "continuing discussions" is not aimed at newcomers, it is aimed at experienced project members.

Lately, this thread has often veered from the basic SQSA format. Please stay on-topic in the future.

Air Cutter appears in the Analysis work shop for Stratagem, but not on the server. Is this just a shoddy problem or was it actually taken out of the movepool?

Which topic has all the final details on Stratagem (his stats, his movepool, etc.)?
I'm assuming there isn't one. If not, can someone tell me whether Paleo Wave has a secondary effect?

Thanks.

IMHO, useful topics should be stickied so they don't wind up on page 2 where nobody can find them. Then again, I suppose this board is already cluttered up with loads of stickies. :P

Anyways, I just came up with a second question, so here it is: Are all of the CAP pokies considered OU-quality?

Any word on the start date for CAP6? I am away this weekend and don't want to miss out on the chance to submit a concept.
If you are worried that you will not be around to submit it one option would be to ask around on the server if there is anyone who would be willing to submit it for you, it would probably mean them forfeiting their own submission under the currant rules but if its any good you should find someone.

And we will have to pick the Committee then they will pick the TL before Concept so you should have enough warning.

Kharozz, I don't know the specifics but I doubt that the mods are going to go dig it up. There are many eligible concepts now, if you can adjust your previous submission, I'm sure it won't be deleted unless it still breaks a rule. You can also ask Bass or Darkie beforehand if the submission is eligible and they can help you out.

the rules said:
Specific stat bias, base stats, or base stat ratings are not allowed. It is acceptable to use descriptive phrases like "fast", "bulky", "strong attacker", etc -- since there are a variety of ways a pokemon can fit those descriptions without specifically requiring certain stats. But, do not use overly-specific descriptions that would narrowly constrain the pokemon's base stat spread.

I believe that your special attack Rampardos pretty much required a high special attack stat, and low defensive stats.

Hey, did the CAP forum ditch the whole create a new evolution thing? Last time I checked the process wasn't going smoothly and Gorm had some issue with the direction it was going, and felt responsible. Did it subsequently fall apart?
