My question is why are evolutions not considered as a valid creation for a new CAP project? I'm not saying there should be a CAP project dedicated to evolutions, but rather; I think it should be fine if someone draws a new Pokemon as an evolution to a previous Pokemon which seems appropriate and people vote for it. What would be the actual problems with including this from now on into the CAP projects?

Why is there no gender poll in the CAP process?

Something like:

-Male and Female
-Male only
-Female only
-No Gender

Because it doesn't really matter and takes up time. The only time it would matter competitively is when using Attract/Rivalry. The difference with this CAP is that there is a "female only" artwork in the poll. If there's enough support I could run one as a side bold poll.

Yes, TL's can nominate themselves as often as they want. Perhaps we should institute some rules for consecutive terms or something, but it hasn't been necessary so far.

Most past TL's have been content to remain active on the project, serve on the TL Selection Panel, and let others take a leadership role in the project. But, I don't necessarily expect them to do that forever. I know of at least one past TL who has expressed vague interest in running again sometime in the future. I won't stand in their way at all. However, as the rules state, no nominee for TL can serve on the TL Selection Panel, even though past TL's are considered "permanent" panelists.

Personally, I like seeing the mantle of leadership passed around the community. I think every TL has learned a lot during their time running a CAP project, as it affords a unique perspective on the process and the community. So, I'd really like to see many other prominent community members step up to the plate and serve as TL, before we begin looking to past TL's to run again. But, that's just a preference of mine. It is not a rule.

Anyone can nominate themselves for TL -- even past TL's.

Can the winner of an art poll have different colors in the spriting phase than the art has in the art phase?

Like Fidgit for example, if it was like... black and red in the Art phase, by whoever drew it, is it allowed to be changed in the sprite phase?

It still has to keep the same general color scheme for the main sprite. Shiny sprite is the spriters choice however.

I have a question about the Ability selection process. Right now we have a choice of 6 abilities, but what will happen once all the votes have come in?
Will the top two abilities become CAP5's two abilities? Will there be another poll between the two top abilities, and the second place discounted? Or will there be an entirely new poll, e.g. 'Secondary Ability Poll'?

I am new to CAP but I am highly interested in the entire process.
Thanks for your help.

There will be a Secondary Ability poll with the other 5 in the top 6.

Is there any way/anywhere I can make sprites (moving party ones) and also, do I have to draw my own Pokemon because I have one in mind that I want to submit but it's really poorly drawn

If you're talking about a Pokemon you made up then don't bother submitting anything about it. We go through a process to make a Pokemon, which can be found here, and everyone in the community essentially makes it. We're currently in the middle of a Pokemon right now so you'll have to wait until the next one to submit any concepts. And I have no idea where a good place to make sprites is.

I'm not sure what you're asking. You can draw scratch sprites and submit them, and you can draw artwork, but it has to fit the project. You can't just make your own Pokemon and submit the full stats, movepool, types, and everything though.

Can you clarify what are competitive and non-competitive attacks or support moves?
Thanks

Competitive attacks, are attacks worth using in a a competitive battle (Close Combat, Ice Beam, thing like that)
Non-competitive attacks ara things like Mud Slap, Snore...attacks that nobody would use in a competitive battle but are needed in a Pokemon movepool.
Support moves are not designed for attack, they are for "support" the team or the Pokemon: Stealth Rock, Taunt, Swords Dance are examples of that.

I hope you understand it a bit better now :toast:

No, i know what these are, but aren't some moves debatable? There are some attacks like Snatch which can be worth/not worth using in battle as appropriate.
Would it be up to the movepool creators to discern then?

Both the creators and me.

Can X-Act (or someone else) open a new CAP Metagame thread?

One which is not derailed by a Certain Badgeholder but which stays on topic and is both very useful for experienced CAP players who want to review the CAP metagame and new users who are daunted by the CAP pokes and want to know what changes in usages/threats to expect as they build their first team.

I already asked, Doug said to wait.
