If I was to build a Fighting type mono team (I can use two pokemon that arent fighting type, as long as one has a fighting move) and the rules are these:
Level 100
Double Battle
No Legendaries

what advice would be given towards the two pokemon I should add?

Well, that's a bit tough...what's the rest of your team, anyway? Well, you'd probably want to add something with good defenses, probably an Explosion resist or something since most fighting types have suck defense nor the speed to take down an Exploder, so maybe something with Damp or maybe a good Steel type that can set up a Screen like Bronzong or something. I dunno; I really can't tell without knowing the rest of your team.

On a separate note, does Mew get Role Play? I had heard something to that effect somewhere but Serebii and the Smogon movedex aren't saying anything to support that.

Gengar? Laughs at Explosions even more than Steels do, and learns Focus Blast, so the fighting move criteria is met there. Then again, Steel does resist Fighting's weaknesses, and Gengar would add another Psychic weakness. Just trying to help.

Tyranitar hits Rotom pretty hard with STAB Pursuit so long as it doesn't get burned (which is rare with Trick Rotom-H), and it doesn't mind getting stuck with a Choice Scarf either. It also has a handy resist to both Overheat and Shadow Ball. Lanturn resists/absorbs two of Rotom-H's usual attacks as well (Overheat and Thunderbolt/Discharge), doesn't care about burn, and has the special bulkiness to take repeated Shadow Balls. Houndoom also resists two of Rotom-H's attacks and is immune to WoW, but I don't know how well it can take Thunderbolts, and I don't know how much Lanturn or Houndoom will like being Scarf'd.

So there's no perfect counter?

Does Serene Grace affect the chances of Thunder hitting through Protect in the rain?

No. That depends entirely on accuracy and isn't really a "secondary effect" like Serene Grace effects. And this mechanic was changed in Platinum, so Thunder won't hit through at all in that game (not sure if Shoddy has updated for that yet).

Just to confirm that shoddy has not been udpated. My vaporeon was hit through protect by a thunder in the rain. This happened 2 days ago.

this is for WIFI-Pal-battles^^:

have a question

nite99c5.gif

nat: impish (+Def/-SpAtk)

EVs: 248HP | 32SpD | 188Def | 44Spe | 0 Atk

~DragonDance
~Lightscreen
~Roost
~DC/Outrage

this is a SupportNite which gets Dragondance instead of Twave.
is this usable with this nature? or should i change the EVs??

Quick question:
is it possible to EV train a lv 50 azelf all the way before it gets to lv 51, and accumulate all the stats it should've gained by using the box trick?

Just stick to low-level Pokemon for EV training, and give something an Exp. Share while you do it or something so it doesn't level up.

Not sure about the box trick, though.

Thunder always has a chance of hitting through Protect in rain.

My Question:
- What counters Suicune?

Vaporeon is good but can't do anything back... My PP's always get stalled out by RestCune. After 6 Calm Minds I can't even switch or else I get pwned. HP Electric does merely nothing to CM Cune.

From the Smogon analysis:

Vaporeon and Lapras take no damage from Suicune's Surf due to Water Absorb, though they are still vulnerable to Hidden Power Electric, and can be PP stalled with Suicune's Pressure. Electivire can score super effective Electric hits on the physical side, bypassing any Calm Mind boosts, and Torterra can nail Suicune with Wood Hammer if it does not have Ice Beam. Celebi can Leech Seed and Recover away damage if Suicune do not have boosted Ice Beams to scare it away. Gyarados with Taunt will thoroughly trounce any Suicune that does not have Hidden Power Electric, and Blissey beats it if it lacks Rest. Venusaur can put Suicune to Sleep and wail away with Leaf Storm, or Leech Seed you, as can Sceptile (minus the Sleep part), and obviously Raikou, Zapdos, and Jolteon should be avoided at all costs. Latias can switch in to any set which does not run Roar and Calm Mind alongside Suicune; even the offensive Calm Mind set must hope for a critical hit or freeze, as Latias will likely take zero net damage from Timid Life Orb Suicune, factoring in Leftovers, while Suicune wears itself down with Life Orb.

For the in-game trades (Chatot, Haunter with Everstone, and Magikarp are the ones I know of in D/P), do the Trainer IDs change from save file to save file, or are they always the same? Same question for the ADV games as well.

Electivire can't easily switch-in, plus it can be worn down. It has Ice Beam so Torterra doesn't work. Gyarados loses to Ice Beam after 2 CM. It has Rest so Blissey doesn't work. Venusaur/Sceptile/Latias/Celebi are all weak to Ice Beam.
________

By the way, how is this Azelf? IV: 31/30/18/31/23/31 (Naive). Is it good or should I get one with better defenses since I'm afraid of Fake Out / Pursuit. It has a Sash & Explosion. Is it legit?
