I have a Scyther with right nature, pretty good IVs. Unfortunately it has Swarm. Is it possible for this to change into Technician during evolution?

Nope, the only time the nature of one specific Pokemon can change is if you transfer it from a 3rd generation game to a 4th generation game and evolve it there.

It still seems pretty salvageable, just abuse things like X-Scissor and U-turn (I once read a warstory where the person won because an accidental Swarm Scizor won with a boosted U-turn). A base 60 Bullet Punch is the only thing separating it from a normal Scizor. :/

Edit: You can always rebreed it with something else with good IVs and see if you get any luck there.

where are you platinum move tutors?

must your pokemon have 2 more speed points than the opponent in order to outrun it all the time?

House near the bodies of water in the swampy route West of Pastoria (number escapes me XD), a pretty useless one up in Snowpoint, and the beast one East of the Survival Area which requires Rock Climb to get to.

I'm pretty sure it's just 1 point.

What is the percentage that a pokemon will wake up in that given turn? Or, since sleep lasts 1-4 turns, what is the chance that the poke will wake up on the 1st turn? 2nd turn? 3rd turn?

I can't give you a definite answer, but I read in the Research thread that there is a number assigned to a counter when your Pokemon is put to sleep, and each turn the counter decreases by 1 until it wakes up. I'm guessing the numbers 2-5 have equal chances of being assigned. I don't think it's calculated like confusion hit rate or paralysis rate, where its a 50% or 25% chance each turn of occuring.

It's 20% for each of the 1-5 turns. Someone said that in a previous simple questions thread, so I'll have to go with that.

In a double battle, if two pokemon use the appropriate attacks against a pokemon using Counter, Mirror Coat, or Metal Burst, which pokemon is harmed by the counter?

I hope THIS is the appropriate place to ask...

Does anybody actually have any proof that the GTS cloning glitch doesn't work in Platinum? All I've been able to find is hearsay... :( And nobody seems to care to talk about this important glitch.

I recently caught a Regirock (and have not saved) in Sapphire with the following IV's: 15-17 / 23-24 / 13-14 / 5-7 / 28-29 / 10-12

Pretty good, right? However, it unfortunately had to have the nature of Naive. It is better to have a good nature than good IV's, correct?

If I have to reset, that is fine (going for a Sassy or Careful nature). I am not going to be too meticulous, but for what IV range should I shoot?

this should be posted in the "Discuss my Pokemon" thread in Wi-Fi.

:)

If you use Swallow after Stockpiling, do the defense boosts disappear along with the "Stockpile counters"?
I got this idea from planning to use Snorlax (learns them from Munchie level-up). Seemed like a good idea. :)

Yup. The "Stockpile counters" go away, as well as the defensive boosts associated with them.

How do IVs and EVs affect stats when the pokemon is at level 50 instead of 100?

They're half as much as they would be if they were lvl 100, so if you had 20 IVs in spd, you'd have only 10 points at lvl 50.

You choose which one to counter. The other one doesn't add towards the counter total.

I think it's best for you to use this website to help you, because it's not like the actual stat at level 50 will be exactly half of what it is at level 100 (i.e. it's not exactly a matter of rounding up or down): http://www.psypokes.com/dex/stats.php

Actually, I was pretty sure that counter/mirror coat/metal burst will attack the last opponent that attacked your pokemon. I.e. if your pokemon got attacked by surf twice in 1 turn and you mirror coat, you only mirror coat the pokemon that did the 2nd surf.

What are you IVs for pokes from an ingame trade, like the Meisers german magikarps for example. Are they random, or SRable, or set, or based off the poke you trade them??

Does 'Mist' stop the reduction of your stats, even by your own moves. ie;

Dragonite used Mist, and then can use Draco Meteor/Superpower without the negative side effects for five turns.

Or Mamoswime used Mist, and then Curse gives +1 Attack/Defense, but does not drop Speed?

It only prevents stat drops the opponent would cause you, and you cant be hazed. So no, you would still drop your own stats, it works just like the ability, clear body.
