I have a question...If I use 2 parents...and after check delay and offset

I see that I need to "jump" 5000 times to get a shiny egg...

If I SR my DS there will be an opportunity to find a situation with "only" (i.e.) 1000 jump?

Or it's better to change parents?

You do not need to change your parents. SRing will change what frames will get you a shiny pokemon, and thus different amount of jumps. Just make sure you have 6 pokemon in your party while doing this.

Ah ok...I knew about the 6 pokemon

I only wanted to know if I needed to change parents or only SR until I'll get some "possible" jump....5000 it's impossible :D

I hope to find a frame under 15000

Thanks dude ;)

Thanks for the help Mingot and Jonny. I stupidly had my DS clock one hour ahead of the clock on my computer because daylight savings just ended. I'm now getting better delays.

I don't know if it was asked before, but if you record the data (date time and stuff) for an initial seed, how easily can it be regenerated?

Not easily, but I guess it is just as hard as doing resetting for IVs. Your delay would have to be easily repeated, the low 600 range, and offset needs to be low, <10.

I'm getting fairly consistent with my tests. My results so far:

Seconds, Delay, Offset/Frame
13, 623, 2
13, 623, 2
13, 631, 3
13, 631, 2
13, 623, 3
13, 625, 3
12, 623, 2
13, 621, 2
13, 623, 2
13, 623, 3
13, 625, 3
12, 623, 2

I'll do a few more tests in an hour or so just to make sure I'm not going to get a difference over time, then I might go for a desired spread. I'll also test whether changing the egg in the daycare will affect my offset.

Those are very nice consistent results. You should be able to get perfect pokemon easily.

Would you have to take not of the second in which the game powers on or something? And what is the deal with the offsets? Delay is just the timing between the continue screen and you pressing a right.

You would have to find out what time the game started at continue screen, and then find out the delay, and then offset.

Would that be the time down to the whole seconds? Or a smaller interval like .001 seconds. And what is the offset, or how it is effected? Just by timing?

Just to the seconds.

Offset is how many frames in the pokemon is battle/received yet. Currently they only have a working one to get IVs for breeding, not wild pokemon and legendarys. It's not timing, it's walking and NPC movement which affects it.

Ok so i guess it needs to be researched more. But i guess its unreasonable for off screen NPC movement to affect the intial seed.
Wait how would the initial seed be affected by offset if you can not move until the seed is loaded.

YES!!!
I finally did it
Shiny Trapinch
31/31/31/19/31/31
Good job. Is that just from soft resting?

Dammit. Overshot my shiny frame by one. I lost count so I stopped early to check where I was and thought I was very accurate from there. It might take a while before I find another Jolly shiny ability 1 frame. ugh.

Oh and to make sure, you do add a zero to the front of your SID if it only had 4 digits right?

Hm...I'm practicing the IV abuse for perfect parents, but my Windows Time acts weird, and it is small, so (I don't practice anymore, it's too difficult, will do it on the old fashion way! I decided to search for a clock, and I found one, I added it to my website, heres the link: http://platinum.x-treem.nl/clock.php, the time doesn't really matter, because, when I want 20:40:00, I change my DS time to 20:39:00 and I synchronize the seconds with my website clock.

When you have to re-save your game because changing the DS date resulted in the journal popping up, it can mess up the average offset you get. For instance, I was getting mostly 8s, so I changed the date to target a good spread that had an offset of 8 and a delay of 599 (which I was also getting a lot).

But when I resaved to keep the journal from popping up, I started getting offsets of around 3-4, so my aim was now off.

What I think could help here is the ability to search for good spreads on a particular day, so if you have your offset range down you won't have to mess it up by resaving.
