Hi! Well my name's Metfan and I'm new to Competitive Pokemon. I've made a few teams and played them on Shoddy, and well... this is the first team that hasn't sucked. I'd like you guys to help me improve. Well without any more interuptions, heres my team!

The Team

dpmfb142.png

Aerodactyl (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
---
My Starter. He's usually fast enough to pull off a Taunt on opposing leads and the get in a Stealth Rock before being k0'd, and. Assuming he doesnt get k0'd, he can manage to pull a nice amount of damage on anything that doesn't resist Rock or Ground.
---
dpmfsb212.png

Scizor (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 32 HP/252 Atk/224 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- X-Scissor
- Swords Dance
- Brick Break
---
My Phys. Sweeper. He can OHKO any Blissey using Brick Break with Stealth Rock in play, and with a Sword Dance STAB Bullet Punch, almost nothing can stop him, other than Heatran and a few others.
---
dpmfsb094.png

Gengar (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Fire]
---
My Special Sweeper. Focus Blast can put a hole in Blissey, Shadow Ball puts a nice dent in opposing Gengar and Fighting types, Thunderbolt is hell to Gyarados and Waters not named Swampert. HP Fire is for Steels like Scizor and Metagross.
---
dpffsb461.png

Weavile (F) @ Choice Band
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 40 HP/252 Atk/216 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Pursuit
- Ice Shard
- Brick Break
- Night Slash
---
My Revenge Killer. Pink is hawt, k? Ice Shard is a OHKO on most Dragons and Brick Break destroys Blissey. Yes, I know, I hate Blissey. Night Slash and Pursuit are for some STAB, as well as anyone who attempts to flee. This seems to show up on all my sets...
---
dpffsb488.png

Cresselia (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/4 SAtk/252 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Moonlight
- Reflect
- Psychic
---
My Main Wall. Ice Beam is for any Dragons and Psychic for Heracross and other Fighters. Reflect is to improve her tanking abilities and Moonlight to regain health.
---
dpffb134.png

Vaporeon (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 188 HP/252 Def/68 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Aqua Ring/Acid Armor
- Wish
- Surf
- Baton Pass
---
Wish/BP Support. Helps against Heatran

Well thats my team. Thanks for viewing, and I'm open to all suggestions.

Clearly you haven't ever actually USED your Gengar, or you would know that Focus Blast does not come anywhere close to OHKOing Blissey.

Also, your team is incredibly SD Scizor weak, among other things. SD Scizor with 252 Attack, Adamant, Life Orb, and 1 Swords Dance can do the following:

X-Scissor versus Vaporeon: 82-99% - Good chance of OHKO with Rocks, huge chance with Rocks + Sandstorm. Vaporeon can't do much back anyways, besides a neutral, unboosted Surf.
X-Scissor versus Cresselia: 132-155% - Guaranteed OHKO
Bullet Punch versus Gengar: 99-116% - Insanely large chance of OHKO, guaranteed if any residual damage is up
Bullet Punch versus Weavile: 168-198% - Guaranteed OHKO
Bullet Punch versus Aerodactyl: 162-190% - Guaranteed OHKO if sash is broken, which is the same as saying Guaranteed OHKO with any residual/previous damage.
Superpower versus Scizor: 118-139% - Guaranteed OHKO. You can risk the speed tie here to hurt him with Brick break for 37-44%, which will put a damper on his sweep due to life orb, and forcing him to Superpower to lower his attack can allow Gengar or Vaporeon to survive a hit, but it's still not pretty for you.

So I would suggest changing Gengar to Rotom-H with a Choice Scarf. Rotom-H stops Scizor cold, and Trick gives him the power to actually do something about Blissey Switch-ins.

Just asome small things:

Vaporeon (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 188 HP/252 Def/68 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Acid Armor/Aqua Ring
- Wish
- Surf
- Baton Pass

I don't like protect on Vaporeon that much, since Heatran will switch rather than explode, and scouting is more a job for weavile and gengar, who tend to force some switches.
When using wish, it gives you 1 turn to set up something else, then baton pass the hell outa there, or BP emidiatly, I dont care. Might as well give Cresselia a second round of healing with Aqua Ring, and let her take out the dragons with ice beam, because she's sturdier.

problem lies in the question if you can pull of the Taunt/SR thingy with Aero. Think carefully, because your strategy is to sacrifice Aero. If you have him killed, and SR gets spinned, who takes over? No ideas here, up to you to keep it and gamble or take Aero out and replace him. I see no objection against keeping him.

Scizor (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 32 HP/252 Atk/224 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- X-Scissor
- Swords Dance
- Brick Break

Also, roost on Scizor is possible, but 9/10 times a waste of effort. You get pretty much nailed by bulky waters, because they resist Bullet Punch, and Brick Break is not their problem. Only Gengar can hit Bulky Waters anyway, with TB. I'dd scrap roost and go with X-Scissor, because it gives you 2 outs when facing Suicune, Tentacruel or Starmie(even super effective on Starmie!)

@wildfire
Gengar completely destroys most Scizors(and other Steels with no SpD EVs) with HP Fire, but thanks for the note about Focus Blast. I took word from a friend that it was a OHKO.
@Flamman
Thanks for the advice on Vaporeon and Scizor! I'm gonna make those changes now and test them out. I'm also thinking about *possibly* adding in a spiker or another SR.

Personally, I HATE life orb on Gengar. I'd put Expert Belt on him, considering that you can get Super effectives on nearly anything with that set. Also, what do you plan on doing to stop Skarmoy? I'm fairly certain that your gengar can't OHK him with HP Fire, and it seems like he can rape the rest of your team pretty hard. You can handle all of the rest of the Normal walls like Snorlax pretty well with brick break. Question though: Why brick break twice? Are you worried about one dying and being walled by Bliss?

Also, I would trade Focus Blast for, well, anything. It will barely even touch Blissey, and it's low Acc makes it (in my opinon) as close to uselss as an attack can be.

I like the team though (:

(even if my Bidoof rapes it :D)

PS: Get better! Stop being sick!

SD Scizor could rape this team.

After an SD nothing on your team is safe.

Maybe fitting swampert in somewhere could help.

It's not a good idea to be weak to the #1 used pokemon.

Most scizors, if not all, carry bullet punch, which has a very high chance of an OHKO on gengar.

Like flamman said, Rotom fixes it.

Yeh as others have stated Focus Blast on Gengar is not particularly good. Try going for a SubPunching Gengar and totally do over ur set. Because a Focus Punch will do a lot more than Focus Blast it will 2HKO Bliss comfortably doing roughly 60-70% on a standard bliss. Go with this moveset:

Gengar (M) @ Expert Belt Standard Smogon SubPunching Set
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 100Atk/156 Spd/252 SAtk
Hasty nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Focus Punch
- Shadow Ball
- Substitue
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Idea is Bliss is an AWESOME counter for gengar.
So Sub on the turn he switchs out and just fire off a Focus punch
for massive Damage on Bliss

Gengar may destroy most other steels, but Scizor has an incredibly powerful bullet punch that will do a large amount to him before he can act. Choice Band Scizor does a minimum of 94% with a Bullet Punch, meaning you only have a CHANCE to survive one hit if there is no Sandstorm or Stealth Rocks on the field. Swords Dance Scizor will do a minimum of 162% after 1 Swords Dance (ignore my earlier calculations, the calculator I was using didn't actually factor in Technician), and even after Superpower after Swords Dance it does a minimum of 122%. By my calculations, after one Swords Dance, Scizor can OHKO every single member of your team besides POSSIBLY vaporeon, even after 1 stage Attack fall from Superpowering your Scizor.

And 0 SpA EV Vaporeon's Surf versus 32 HP Scizor deals only about half his HP, leaving him enough Life Orb maneuvering space to still take down Vaporeon and 3 other Pokemon. The only way you can possibly deal with him is by switching your own Scizor in to force him to Superpower, pray you win the Speed Tie to Brick Break him, and then switch in Vaporeon. Even so, you're taking a 50% chance that you lose three of your Pokemon, and if you don't, you still lose Scizor and end up with vaporeon severely damaged.

Rule 3 said:
3. Have some actual words in your post beyond your six Pokemon and their moves. Not following this makes your post quite boring to read and rate. All Pokemon should have a good reason for being in your team anyway, so why not post that reason? If you are having trouble with this one, start by giving an explanation for each team member. Why are they there? What role do they serve? How do you get them in? Then, give an explanation of how you would open with the team and how you would go about using it. All of these things help people rate your team and allow us to offer more helpful advice.

This does not mean add one sentence saying "Standard x" or "all-around awesome" after each Pokemon. If you put thought into making the team, you can put thought into posting it.

Your descriptions are very lacking. "Wish/BP Support. Helps against Heatran" is definitely not enough. If you expand on the descriptions, PM me with the changes and I'll open your thread.
