Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

It was already selected since there is only one, so you really don't have to even click on it. But what do you mean "you can't click on it"? Just click on it and hit OK. Don't overthink the directions, just follow them.

Eh, I get really paranoid. I type my current # of taps in Notepad for every 20 taps I get. Hopefully something will be designed to make this process easier. Or something.

I suppose an easier solution could be to stop a few taps early, and then just get the rest of the eggs and hatch them, that way you can't possibly miss the shiny egg, due to a miscalculation.

@ All above --

It does work like that. If you stop early you can just hatch the eggs between where the IRNG is an the shiny.

okay, so I'm trying to get a shiny Tangela with good IVs, but I can't get the shiny hatch thing to work for it. I'm basically following the guide word for word, and then when I go up to collect my egg and hatch it, it's not shiny, and this last time it wasn't even the correct nature.

does it matter that I'm saving right before I get the egg so I can reset for good IVs? I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong, I've hatched two shinies in the past, the only thing different this time is that I'm saving the game before getting the egg.

Are you tapping the correct number of times? D: I've saved before collecting my egg but only right after he has it already, and it hatches fine.

Okay so, I get the basic jist of this, but I still don't really comprehend it. Can someone explain it to me in english?

Post like this are annoying me. please look through the thread yourself, there are multiple explanations, guides and methods. Also, watch the video, it can't get easier than that to explain.

yeah, I know I've been tapping right, I write down how many I have and everything just so I don't mess up.

sigh

I guess I'll try some more later, I've hatched about four eggs already, each one like 450 HC taps. :(

Is there any way to specify in the time finder that a certain parent has a certain IV that must be passed on? This would make sorting through results a lot simpler when there are two parents in the daycare with a shortage of perfect IVs.

Also, is there any way to set a specified frame to zero? I've been getting shiny eggs and manually calculating how many taps until the next egg for a while now. If there was a way to set a highlighted frame to zero, and then select calculate Poketch taps, it would be helpful in preventing math mistakes. I always seem to wind up about one tap or flip too many eventually down the line.

Sorry, you're going to just have to just look for spreads that match what you have. If you're serious about doing IV breeding with this method it is strongly recommended that you research what spread you would like to get before even starting. That way you can breed a set of parents for the particular spread and have those in reserve.

I understand what you are asking about calculating to the next shiny spread and it is an interesting suggestion. I'll make a note of it. In the meantime, I would do the math and then skip a double tap or two so you can find your position and just hatch eggs or coin flip to the shiny. Remember, if you are early it can be salvaged, if it is late you can't.

I figured this would be the case. I was mainly looking for a way to speed the process up as I got started. Once I get a few Pokemon in multiple egg groups with 31 spreads, this should become more of a non-issue. Thanks for the quick reply.

Has anyone had this problem? I downloaded the new version 4 for the RNG Reporter but now when I press Find, after I type in the time that I press A on the continue screen, the nature of the just caught sixth pokemon and it's Iv's, it always says that no (initial) seed can be found.

When I filled in all of the blanks like the first post said with version 3 it would give me the delay starting with monster and then others. Now it doesn't show anything.

I would like to try this but if it doesn't give me the initial seed then I won't be able to get a shiny. What can I do? Am I doing something wrong according to the new version? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

So it says no initial seed and not no monster found? I ask because there are two error messages when it can't find anything. One change is that I don't search for delays past 3600 (are you waiting more than one minute between resetting and hitting A on the continue screen?) and an offset of 1000 (are you spending a lot of time in game before scenting?).

You might consider running both versions side by side (http://www.eggmove.com/rngreporter/rngreporter_301.zip) and letting me know what 3 is saying is good that 4.10 is not catching.

Well, I have a problem. For nicknaming purposes, I used a code to change my trainer ID. After nicknaming, I changed my ID back to my original one. Does this affect my inability to breed shinies, because I have tried doing it for seven times now? Does my SID change? Or..?

hey Erodent, maybe you should just try testing some simple, quick ones. I'm capable of breeding shinies (i've only gotten like 4 or 5, most were tests) but it's been taking me way more than 7 tries.
