Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Awesoooome. You guys are the best. Though I can't do any trading until the weekend, the computer my Wifi is installed to isnt working.

A couple of questions:
1. If the first pkmn you Sweet Scent dies (...cough...Pinsir...) should you just restart?
2. How many taps would you go for a good Nature? 1000+? 1999+? 2999+?
3. If you don't need Coin flips, you just switch to another app, correct?
4. If you screw and deposit before doing of the tapping or flipping, are you screwed?

1. no
2. less than 500. When you are also going for ability and gender, 1000 max.
3. yes, just move off the happiness one.
4. no, just make sure an egg isn't produced before you finish tapping and flipping.

Hey, I've been trying this and I have no problems obtaining a shiny egg, but when I am trying to calibrate for IVs the number for seconds I get tends to vary between 14 and 16, with very consistent delays and offsets. Does anyone have advice on how to get a consistent number of seconds?

I don't do the same method as jonny does, but make sure you SR at the same second every time and make sure the clocks you use are synched.

I am having a huge amount of trouble locking into a shiny egg for no apparent reason. When the hatched poke isn't shiny I try to find where I am on the list but can never do so. It's quite bewildering how I could be getting this wrong constantly, when I was doing it so easily before. The Nature and Ability don't match so it must be me making mistakes.

Is there any way to make it easier to get a specific shiny + nature? I finally had one under 1000 last night (first one in several weeks), but my dad called down and screwed up my counting >.<

Honestly, the game must hate me >.>

no there isn't, and people need to stop asking this.

oddosk - I don't know what to tell you, but it is probably a minor mistake somewhere thats repeatable. wrong date maybe.

Have a question about SRing for shiny spreads

Say I get 2 initial seeds that are ~600 in one reset (this happens for me occasionally). In this instance, one was about 630, and another was about 700. 630 didn't give me the nature/ability I wanted, so I re-entered the IVs and selected the seed around 700. This one gave me the preferred nature and ability. So my question is, will this give me a shiny even though it's not technically the seed closest to 600 (since seeds from 600-800 are supposed to work)?

Yes, why would the RNG reporter lie.

So the recent update for the RNG reporter includes Method J, for non-running legends. This means that I can SR for spreads in the same manner as for everything else, correct?

It's very hard to say. Either of those could be your initial seed and there' really no way of telling which one it is (that I know about.) It might give you a shiny but it might not. You're best to try one of them or just reset if you don't want to risk wasting you time.

Ok, so I did some testing and the nature/ability/shinyness were appearing as they were supposed to and I was able to hatch a shiny (although without anything usable) I've come to the conclusion that it just keep making mistakes.

Ok, I continue to get something other than what the RNG Reporter says. I had the Modest one I wanted. The game gave me something else instead. I was PISSED, so I recorded EVERYTHING:

Intended Target: Modest, Ability 1, M/M/M/F
334 Happiness Taps
8 Coin Flips

What I Got: Bold, Ability 1, F/M/F/F
333
5

PID of Caught Starly: BF15028E
Offset: 38
Seconds: 24
Delay: 645

My ID and SID:
ID-: 12756
SID: 09317

As you can tell, it couldn't have been taps because, even if I was one off with the Happiness Taps, well, I was on the dot for Coin Flips. I can only think of TWO things:

1) I went back to the coin flip by accident
2) Fast Hatch screwed me

To my knowledge, the Coin Flip doesn't do anything to the seed unless tapped, so it has to be number 2 or something else. I am using version 3.01

*is PRETTY ticked*

Ohhh. So the only reason you need ~600 is because that would be the lowest tap number? I thought it outright wouldn't work if it wasn't around 600. Thanks, I finally got my spread ;P

Not so fast, there. Only one of the seeds is correct. All I can make RNG Reporter do is list what the best looking candidates are. If you get two that both really look good write down the IVs of your first Pokemon and quickly catch another.

Use both Initial seeds to generate a frame list "Method 1" or "Method J" and try to find your second Pokemon. It will be on the list of what the correct seed was.

Would you like a refund? ;)

Seriously, what I suggest you do for kicks is to find your initial seed and run the "DPPt Breeding" (make sure if you DON'T have international parents you have not selected that) and then dont tap/flip or anything. Just throw some stuff in daycare and hatch it. Do your first 5 eggs match what's on the list in frames 1 through 5?

If not, you're fucking something up very early in the process. If they do match, then you're miscounting, most likely.

And I'd consider upgrading to 4.10. 3.01 gave WAY to many initial seed candidates out. You could be picking the wrong one.

Not really at this point. Unless you have the patience of Jonny. I am working on a timefinder for legends, though. Slow going as I am a little busy with work this week. It's close, though.

It seemed doable to me, until i got to "Exploitation Techniques For IV Breeding".

Also, I haven't got an AR, so could i check the IV's of stuff on wifi??
Or would that interfere with the RNG?

Wouldnt work, as when you go on wifi your game is saved >.<, im in the same boat (lols<<)

Well, it's not the saving that affects the IRNG, but entering WiFi reseeds the IRNG, so you can't do that.

I just watched the video so just found out =(

But do you (and any other non AR owners) still shiny breed??

And for anyone who knows this.. can we just soft reset the egg normally.. or do we have to do the callibrations??

Go to the resort area and catch a higher level poke and then enter all possible IV combinations. I know there are many out there that are doing this without and AR, all they needed was to get someone to check their SID.

You can SR normally, but obviously you won't get as good results.

@Shinymilotic: Toss. Gengar need max speed.
