Team Dumbstruck (Semi-Gemmicky OU RMT)

Team Dumbstruck
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

after creating my Dragons In The Desert team and helping Wandering Soul create a team i wanted to go for something less serious and more fun! so this really isn't too much of an out "imma kill you all! >:D" team... much more of a "to piss the opponent off" (which will most likely be just my friends lol) kind of deal.

the basic concept is to have a seemingly normal team at first while (as the title suggests) in fact pulling off the Parafusion and Paraflinch strategies, which everyone hates, simultaniously.

In Depth

The Fallen Star
385.png

SadalSuud
Jirachi @ Leftovers
Serene Grace
-Jolly-
80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe
Iron Head
Ice Punch
Fire Punch
Stealth Rock

Info: her name means "Luckiest Of The Lucky" which i think fits pretty well, plus it's an actual Stars name. the idea is normally Jirachi is a Scarfer or does SR + U-Turn, however i deviate from that here :D! she SR's to appear to be of normal variety, but then she can do some wonderful countering as the game progresses.

Moves: STAB Iron Head is annoying for its' 60% Flinching which will play well with my main strategy, Ice Punch is here to give me an option against Dragons later on who i otherwise have no major counter to, and Fire Punch lets me Revenge threats like SD Luke and Scizor who i don't have a true counter for

Why Her: provides the team with SR, gives me a counter to Dragons and Scizor/Luke (and has increased Freeze/Burn rates) while she still Flinches the hell out of everyone with his increased 60% chance ;).

The DD King
230-m.png

Neptune
Kingdra @ Leftovers
Swift Swim
-Adamant-
24 HP / 252 Atk / 232 Spd
Dragon Dance
Substitute
Waterfall
Outrage

Info: obvious Nickname here: Neptune is the God Of The Sea. oh Kingdra how i love you. with only 1 weakness and pretty high Defs this guy can easily find a place to come in and set up.

Moves: the idea is to DD or Sub on the switch, do the other the next turn, then sweep! if all goes as planned he can get at least 2 KOs and possibly even dent his counter. Outrage + Waterfall gives unresisted coverage (excluding Empoleon) and works really well, especially with this set up.

Why Him: he's a nice sweeper and hard to take down with a Sub... not to mention Waterfall has a small Flinch rate ^_^. plus him/Lati and Scizor cover each others asses.

"I Am NOT useless! D:"
479-flying.png

Cyclone
Rotom-S @ Leftovers
Levitate
-Modest-
252 HP / 40 SpA / 216 Spe
Discharge
Confuse Ray
Air Slash
Shadow Ball

Info: he's a Fan so Cyclone suits him lol. this little bugger's the reason for the teams over all idea. hilarious and very fun to play.

Moves: Discharge and Shadow Ball give pretty good coverage and both get STAB, while Discharge > T-Bolt is for the Para chance. Confuse Ray just makes me lmao when my opponent flips out due to them killing themselves. Air Slash, Rotom-S's signature move, has a respectable 30% Flinch rate and makes him even more annoying to take down. his decent coverage and natural Bulk allow him to stand up to Breloom, Gyara, Bulky Waters, Gengar (IIRC he doesn't OHKO me), etc while annoying the piss out of everyone >.<

Why The Fan?!: probably the most Gimmicky poke here lol and is where the whole idea came from. looking through the all Rotom-A Analysis' i noticed the one "sucky" thing that set Rotom-S apart from all the others: ParaFlinch/Fusion. and it helps that all the Rotom-A are so unpredictable (my opponent: "is he running SleepTalk? or is it Charge Beam + Sub? why in the world else would that be Rotom-S?!").

The Obligation

212-m.png

BloodyEnd
Scizor @ Choice Band
Technician
-Adamant-
188 HP / 252 Atk / 68 Spe
Bullet Punch
Pursuit
U-Turn
Superpower

Info: it's easy to see why i picked this name: he kills most anything O.o. not truely required to be on every team, however him and Luke both prove to be MAJOR threats. Scizor and Lati/Kingdra cover each others weaknesses perfectly, which is very nice.

Moves: so we all pretty much know how this works... U-Turn lets me scout for counters and get in some free damage, Superpower takes out any Steels that would otherwise be free to come in, Pursuit wipes Ghosts and Psychics out of existance (whether they stay or attempt to leave), and Bullet Punch is just amazing on this guy and helps him become my Revenge Killer of sorts.

Why Him: he's a beast! nearly every team now-a-days has ether him or Luke. sure, he may not Flinch/Para/Confuse anyone, but man does everyone hate him now >.<.

The Wall Breakin' Beastie
392-m.png

Raze
Infernape @ Life Orb
Blaze
-Naive-
64 Atk / 252 SpA / 192 Spe
Fire Blast
Close Combat
Grass Knot
Stone Edge

Info: his name literally means "To Tear Down" which perectly describes what he does to Walls. this guy was the last added to the team. gave me some coverage i was missing, as well as hitting pretty hard

Moves: Stone Edge gives him a defense against Gyara, who likes to come in and set up. Fire Blast and CC give really good coverage together (taking on Steels, Grass, Bliss, etc) as well as getting STAB, while Grass Knot takes care of Waters/Grounds who'd love to OHKO me with Surf/EQ.

Why Him: this thing can pack a punch. he's here to blast some walls to pieces as well as to fill in some holes i was having: no Fire (Excluding Fire Punch now), Fighting (except Superpower), Rock, or Grass attacks. however he fits into the annoyance factor too by destroying most walls.

The Golden Support
dpffsa380.png

Aureate
Latias @ Leftovers
Levitate
-Calm-
252 HP / 116 Def / 112 SpD / 28 Spe
T-Wave
Reflect
Dragon Pulse
Recover

Info: Her name simply means "Golden." she's not just the color Gold and named after it, she gives the team its' coveted T-Wave Support! along with some nice Bulk proving to be a "Golden asset" to the team.

Moves: Lati is really sturdy on both sides of the spectrum and MEGA hard to take down with Reflect and Recover. she outruns some threats and can throw up a Reflect to make them manageable, while Recover provides nice instant healing. Dragon Pulse is a great STAB that's only hindered by Steels, and last but not least, T-Wave is the main draw to this set. she tosses status around like a champ and is a great team player.

Why Her: everyone <3's T-Wave :3. cutting opponents Speed really opens the way for this team to be a threat. also, her and Kingdra Cover Scizor's weaknesses as an added bonus.

well there you have it: my ParaFlinch/Fusion Team. honestly i know it's probably not the greatest team out there, but this is designed to be a fun way to come out on top and win rather than with sheer force :). i hope to see it improve and make Paralysis + Confusion + Flinching a large threat (at least with my friends lol). so if you would, hate/rate/steal!

seems like a fun team.
It might be an idea to replace t-bolt with t-punch, because most water types have better better sp defence than physical defence. It also means you can get a attack lowering nature, and focus more on his sp attack stat.
I also prefer flame thrower over fire blast on ape, but that's your choice.
Good luck with annoying your friends with it, as I know how much fun it is.

i feel stupid now >.<. i completely over looked T-Punch lol (course i was posting/fixing this up at midnight). made Jirachi Jolly with T-Punch > T-Bolt :). now he's got a bit more bulk to him. btw, i think you mean focus on Atk and lower his SpA

Flamethrower.... hmm. i was thinking that myself, however what (possibly important) OHKO's would i lose?

You are very weak to SD Lucario, after a SD it can easly OHKO every member of your team, and you can't revenge kill it: I'd give Jirachi fire punch over thunder punch, so you can outspeed and revenge kill it at least. Fire punch also allows you to revenge kill Scizor. Also, about the EVs on Jirachi: unless you need to tie with other base 100 Spe, a jolly nature and 176 EVs are usually enough, as you'll outspeed positive natured base 90 Spe, obviously move the 80 EVs in HP, Jirachi is a very bulky pokemon. Also, give it leftovers: remember, it's a very bulky pokemon.

Fake out on non-lead Infernape is pretty useless: you don't earn any coverage and it does very poor damage, replace it with hp electric or hp ice. I would probably go with hp electric though, because your team seems quite weak to Gyarados, and Gyara loves to set-up on Infernape. Dragons may be a problem, but Salamence and Dragonite are easly revege killed by Scizor while Gyarados isn't. Another option would be stone edge, though it only 2hkos both Gyarados and Salamence, so in most cases you'll need to predict a switch in.

Rotom seems pretty gimmick: air slash doesn't give type coverage along with shadow ball and discharge, I'd give it W-o-W in that spot to cripple the incoming TTars which, otherwise, will have free switches in.

You may have problems with TTar, but a lot of your pokemons can revenge kill it, so you should be able to play around it.

Good luck!

wow thanks Haunter! very nice ideas there. i really like your suggestion of Fire Punch > T-Punch and a EV change with Leftovers. as for Nape however i do not mess with HP (this team will be used in-game, not on Shoddy) so Stone Edge seems like the best choice and helps a little vs Gyara

as for Rotom-S i'm not sure. Gimmicky yes, but he was the inspiration for the team and is MEGA annoying. plus WoW kind of conflicts with my Para idea... also, i believe none of my friends have access to a TTar except through me so i don't think he'd be a major problem, plus i can Revenge Kill him easy enough as you said. i'm undecided atm

Minor nit-pick. Dragon and water are resisted by both Empoleon and Shedinja iirc?

Other than that, seems like a rather solid team. Good luck. :)

Don't have very many nitpicks but the fact that you use neptune instead of poseidon is fail, neptune is roman and therefore unoriginal :D
I love the kingdra-use one myself heh.
The only real nitpick I have is rotom, i've never been a fan of using them, it seems confuse-ray is hardly possible to depend on, albeit annoying, your two attacks don't do a thing to scizor who is generally why rotom is used on teams.

Rotom-S isn't for taking on Scizor like Rotom-H and -C, which is why i have Jirachi set up to handle Scizor/Luke. here he's just to purely annoy everyone. and as for Confuse Ray, it actually is reliable. sure they can switch out, but they get some SR damage everytime. plus, if they're already paralized i'll outrun and Confuse them again ;)
