How is it possible that wailord is in the same tier as luvdisc?
Because no one uses him. OU, UU, and NU are based on usage, whereas Ubers and BL are banlists for Pokemon that are found too strong for OU/UU respectively.

In other words, Wailord is NU because no one uses him. There are better options (Swampert, Suicune, Milotic, Starmie, etc etc).

Edit: asdfkjasdj stupid other posts Q.Q
Because he's not used enough. There's bigger shocks in the NU crowd than Wailord though.
lol like what slaking and furret roflmao

That doesnt make sense though, why are OU and BL based on power, and everything else based on usage? Wouldnt it make sense to base everything on either usage or power or maybe even both?

Nizik, if you are talking about a baton pass chain than:

"One Pokémon on your team should be your finisher, also known as a receiver. When this Pokémon gets +6 in the attack stat it chooses to use (or some mixed sweeper equivalent), it should be able to OHKO every single Pokémon with 100% accuracy moves in the format you choose to play in. Your receiver should not be 4x weak to any priority move. It might be helpful for your receiver to also have Baton Pass, but trying to OHKO every single Pokémon you need to can be difficult with only three moves. If your team is pretty offensive, then this might not be as big of an issue. Immunity to Toxic Spikes is a plus, and if said Pokémon needs a Life Orb to get the KOs it needs, it should be immune to Sandstream as well."
from the Baton Pass Chain guide

If you switch a Shedninja holding a Focus Sash into Stealth Rocks, then do you die or does the focus sash save you?

OU UU and NU are based on usage. Ubers bans pokemon from OU, BL bans pokemon from UU. Focus Sash saves you from battle damage only.

What's the best BP reciever? I'm almost positive it's Metagross, but I need other opinions, reasoning needed.

Yeah, Metagross. Some baton Pass chains use Mr. Mime to prevent perish song/roar from ending it, Octillery and Cradily are immune to phazing too.

OU is based on usage. BL is what is too strong for UU (just like Ubers are too strong for OU).

Sash doesn't protect against secondary effects (Rocks, Status, Weather).

Lucario is best, metagross might miss with meteor mash, which could ruin the whole chain. Lucario can mix sweep better and has 100% accurate moves.

Another question -_-

The IV's of the pokemon at the Battle Frontier, how exactly are they determined? Are they all flawless, or are they chosen at random?

I really need to make sure, I am working on something that's why.

Some Simple Questions

~ Light Ball

I understand Light Ball doubles Pikachu's Attack and Sp. Attack. However, is this just his base stat, or the actual stat that you see in the summary panel, after IV's EV's and nature boosts have been taken into account?

~ Reflect

How much does it raise your teams defence by? Like 1 stage or what?

~ Life Orb

How much does it boost your damage by? What % recoil do you take?

Easier for me to find your answers if you pm me.
Thanks!

Can a Garchomp with a neutral nature and a 31 SpA iv and 0 SpA Evs OHKO a Kingdra with a 31 Hp & SpD iv and 92 Hp Evs? Can someone give me a damage calculation please?

The attack is Draco Meteor and its item does not alter either attacking stat.

It doubles the actual stat.

Physical damage is halved. So like a +2 defense boost.

~ Life Orb

How much does it boost your damage by? What % recoil do you take?

1.3x, 10% recoil.

I'm starting to wonder why people use Celebi > Tangrowth..

General Bulkyness = The closer the stats are, correct?
-Max HP/DEF-
Celebi's Stats: 404 / 328
Tangrowths Stats: 404 / 383

Tangrowth has 60 more Defense in stats, but celebi has a 50 base speed higher than Tangrowth.

Tangrowth cannot outun Jolly T-Tar, yet is not weak to any moves besides Fire Punch. CB T-Tar almost never runs Fire Punch, and only DD T-Tar would use it in fear or Scizor:

+1 DD T-Tar 252 ATK Jolly Fire Punch vs 252/252 Tangrowth:
550 Atk vs 383 Def & 404 HP (75 Base Power): 202 - 238 (50.00% - 58.91%)

Always a 2HKO in Sandstorm, however Celebi is in the same position but worse: Crunch / Pursuit kills it. Is Tangrowth a viable counter for CB T-Tar? I think so.

Also, Tangrowth gets Sleep Powder, a base 120 STAB move, and Knock off. It still has Leech Seed, Stun Spore, and an even higher special attack stat. Why is Celebi so much better than tangrowth?

Oh, im sorry. I meant with Draco Meteor and a non-attack altering item.

196 Atk vs 226 Def & 314 HP (140 Base Power): 260 - 308 (82.80% - 98.09%)

You have a 2 in 3 chance of OHKOing with Stealth Rock up.

Also, Tangrowth gets Sleep Powder, a base 120 STAB move, and Knock off. It still has Leech Seed, Stun Spore, and an even higher special attack stat. Why is Celebi so much better than tangrowth?

Celebi's speed advantage is a big one over Tangrowth. It allows it to outspeed a whole lot more and Recover up (another thing Tangrowth lacks; Synthesis/Morning Sun is hardly reliable with sand flying everywhere) before some Pokemon can hit it. Tangrowth has abysmal speed and similarly abysmal Special Defense. Celebi doesn't get mowed over by surprise random unSTABbed Super Effective special moves like Flamethrower and Ice Beam.

Scyther to Scizor

I was wondering since most of the time when a pokemon evolve, it gains stats.

If I train a scyther to lvl 50 and then evolve it to scizor. Does he LOSE speed? I'm thinking he does as when you evolve the stats only get adjusted to those of the pokemon (but most of the time the spreadsheet stay the same so it is a pure increase but give the "illusion" that it simply gained stats).

Just want to be sure hehe.

Lucario can't take a hit though. XXX used Baton Pass. YYY switched in Lucario. ZZZ used ABC. Lucario Fainted! Metagross doesn't have to use Meteor Mash if that's a concern, but bulk is a huge plus in using him over Lucario.

Another question -_-

Carl said they appear somewhat random. I take it that it hasn't been figured out yet.

Well, Celebi isn't used to counter Tyranitar, so you can't really compare them in that regard. Outside of that, while it's true that Tangrowth is more physically defensive, Tangrowth's Special Defense stat is abysmal. Celebi doesn't need investment to take most blows on the special side while Tangrowth just gets destroyed, making her overall more bulky. Tangrowth can go slightly more offensive, but Celebi has really nice support options that make her superior, like Thunder Wave > Stun Spore (ground types are NOT coming in on Celebi), Screens, Aromatherapy, and Recover. Her speed is a lot more useful for using Leech Seed as well.

Yes, he'll lose speed.

I'm a little unclear how NFEs work in the tier system. Would it be legal to use a Dusclops on my UU team?

Yes, NFE's are permitted in any tier.
