Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Here's something I ran off the RNG Reporter for those seeking a perfect calm pokemon such as regice or whatever best benefits from its flawless stats:

delay = 734 in 2009
seed = 450b02e7
calm 0 31/31/31/31/31/31
frame = 728
PID = E9375A48

When using method J and a calm synchronizer, there are numerous frames to target for.

Just re-save in front of the old man and hope you get 6 again. It's ok if the journal comes up as long as it doesn't have caught/defeated a pokemon.

Really? Closing out the journal won't alter the frame if no Pokemon is listed? If so, then that's good to know, cause I've been really limited on which spreads seemed viable because of the Journal.

DON'T.

Don't re-save and hope you'll end up with the right offset. Use the Journal to your advantage. Since we know the Journal advances the offset by 2 if a page with caught\defeated Pokémon appear on it, look for dates\times that have your frame + 2 (in your case, 8).

You can even keep flipping your journal pages to target even higher offsets. Just search 8, 10, 12, and so on until you find another you like. There's lots of usable egg IV spreads.

This isn't always best because you may need x/x/A/B/x/A and you may be using the bear minimum pokemon IVs, where odds are it won't repeat.

Well I'm confused (yet again..)

is reaching that target frame even possible? Some people are telling me yes and others are telling me no, it's very confusing :S

If not, which target frame should I aim for?

Yes it is possible. You just stand in front of the legend you want with the syncher and it will be that if you get the right delay. If you are having trouble with the delay, just change the year, +1 year = -1 delay.

Not at all. Good IV spreads are way more common than you think. With the journal up you can go for a spread with any date, any time, and virtually any offset. You're wasting more time trying to resave and hope you'll hit the right frame again than finding an identical spread on a different date\offset.

Alright, this has got me intrigued. But I am wondering one thing. You press A to go forward one journal page, and B to go back, or exit if you're on the last page. Suppose you have a caught Pokemon on the first page, and push A, going to the second page. This increases the offset by 2, correct? Does it matter if the second page has a capture on it? Otherwise, in pressing B twice to exit, would you rack it up to +6? I'm likely missing something, but I'd like to fully know how to manipulate the offset with the journal, cause I have about 3 alternate spreads in mind now, and am unsure of how to proceed.

Or would the best way to proceed be to simply get a capture only on the last page, and flip between the first and second pages, racking up +2 until you get the desired amount?

I forget how do I determine my frame number and how do I get it to go to frame 1 or 5 for Cressellia or Azelf?

It's frame 1 for Azelf and frame 5 for Cresselia (6 if there's already a roaming Pokémon on the map) if you just start the game in front of them and don't advance the RNG. But generally that's not the frame you want.

You use the journal flips to advance the RNG to target the frame for the spread you want.

Wow, great find. It seems strange that there are so many hidden spreads that aren't on Viletung's website and Syberia's spreadsheets.

The spreads are not on it because he probably limited the delay to 600-700 or something similar, where you can change the year to get your delay, while that one you can't get by changing the year.

Ahhh ok, now I get it. I wouldn't want to have to mess with the delay, that would be much too hard to get consistent results.

when you guys find a shiny set with the certain nature how do you tap it like 5000 times? I always lose count when Im trying to do it or miscount. What do you do?

Alright I just did like 6 shinies in a row and none of them worked. The first 3 I tried I tried on Egg PID Normal and it didn't work so I assumed one of the parents was international. So I tried international 2 more times. That didn't work. So now I try normal again and it still ISN'T WORKING!

Does turning advance the RNG in Rotom's room at Old Chateau, while using Repels?

Errm why am I asking this if I can test it by myself...

EDIT: Yeah, it does.

(For method 1/J) Has anyone else noticed that a target delay on Platinum is significantly more difficult to hit than those in D/P? Are there any suggestions for this? It's so frustrating when I can't even check to see what delay I actually hit...

I haven't notice this, I got my ditto and other pokemon just as easy. I did notice the delays were lower.
