Absolutely disagree with you. The weapons ruined the achievements with people farming achievements just to achieve the weapons. Personally, I think they should change it so you get a chance of getting an item drop with each point you earn. The randomly receiving thing doesn't make sense at all. I don't know why Valve did it considering they're usually pretty good at knowing how to balance rewards in their games. I assume they'll patch it next time.I absolutely hate how it is all chance based now. It ruins the only reason achievements existed. Not to mention with everyone having different unlockable weapons, it decreases the skill involved.
Wow you faced a decent amount of stupidity, in that thread. But you answered clearly. I like the idea and it was alot better than just making a rage post, though i'm not 100% valve isn't doing this right now secretly, or implementing it later on.I chucked in my two cents over at the TF2 boards on Steam. I'm not sure if the team actually reads it, but I hope they do.

Same here. The dead ringer is really nifty and probably my favorite out of the spy watches. (Actually, it's probably my favorite unlockable from this update, period.) Apparently disguising as a member of your own team also does not reveal that you are a spy when they "kill" you, so disguising as scout might be better for infiltration. If they see an enemy spy "die," they might check around to see if he really is dead. However, if someone shoots an enemy scout and sees him die, they're less likely to be suspicious.Dead Ringer: Suprisingly, this thing is actually useful. I went in with the mentality that between the Cloak and Dagger and the original watch, this was by far the worst. I now see that this thing is quite useful.
Jarate is actually kinda broken.
In addition to the 135% damage, the min-crits override falloff. This sounds like a good thing, except falloff also equates to bonus damage up to 150% of a weapons base damage at very close ranges. This means, for example, that a close range scatter-shot will actually do slightly less damage if the target has been Jarate'd. Ambassador mini-crits work exactly the same way; headshots do 135% base damage regardless of range, but close range bodyshots do up to 150%, which is why close range bodyshots currently do more damage.
However, this is still fairly viable in competion, because rockets and stickies that are less than five seconds old (and needles) receive a reduced bonus that only scales up to 125% (though they still receive the full range penalty down to 50% damage), so they'll get a slight boost regardless of range. Grenades, the sniper shots, huntsman arrows, and stickies older than five seconds ignore falloff entirely and will similarly always benefit from the 135% damage. Just note that for rockets this means they'll be doing 135% of the base value of 90, not 135% of 108, so you will not one-shot Scouts.
The only mainstream competitive weapons that will deal reduced damage due to Jarate are the Soldier's shotgun and the Scout's scattergun and pistol. Since everyone hates Scouts, this probably won't be too big a deal before it's fixed.
In addition to all this, enemies affected by Jarate deal significantly reduced damage to themselves. This is actually quite irritating, since it reduces the height of rocket jumps (knockback is proportional to damage). I haven't tested this formally, but when I attempted to do a standard rocket jump while Jarate'd my health went down to the low 180's instead of the usual 156 and I didn't go nearly as high as I intended.
TLDR: if you want to annoy your own Scouts, Jarate a Soldier when they get close to him so he takes less damage both from them and his own rockets.
You should already have 22 spy achievements. 20 regular achievements plus the first two milestones puts you at 22. That was how they intended it; the milestones really are 10, 15, and 20, it's just that the last two are upped to 16 and 22 because milestones one and two count toward your total achievement count.New update adds milestones for Sniper and Spy. As much as I dislike achievement-based unlocks, at least I'm at 20 Spy achievements so I should get something when I get home and log onto TF2. Then 2 more achievements for the last item. Unless Dead Ringer is the last item... Then I'd be golden =D
jarate chop is a great achievement B)
