do any other toronto fans hate rios? every time i see him come up to the plate i just get sad and EXPECT him to hit into a double play.
I decided to watch the Phillies-Yankees game tonight, and was pretty happy since I really enjoy seeing the Yankees lose (sorry anyone who's a fan, I just can't stand them). Of course, all I get for that is a 9th-inning comeback by the Yankees, from down 4-2 to up 5-4.
Also, A-rod has 10 hits this year. 7 are home runs.

Yes. Yes, we do. I can honestly not believe that when the Rios-Lincecum trade was offered, I did not want to trade Rios. Now, he is a bust, and Lincecum is a Cy Young winner. I honestly also thought that Rios would become a Beltran or that he might even become better than Wells, but no. They all fail me. Also, another night, another loss, another showing of poor offense.

However, being in Ohio, I get mostly Reds games. Astros score two runs in the top of the 1st, Reds come back and get 5 unearned runs in the bottom of the 1st. We have a rain delay now, it just started pouring rain like crazy there.

Reason to celebrate - we won the series vs Boston. Tomorrow we sweep as we begin to take our position at 1st place back. Too bad the fucking Bankees have it now.
How about that Casey Jannsen? He's doing pretty decent, he's pitching pretty decently. He would be a decent back end starter on any other team, but when we're healthy, I think that he'll have to move back to the bullpen. Richmond's luster is gone and Romero seems to have finally let the bigs get to him. How will our rotation hold? We didn't even win the past Halladay start.

Oh dear, baseball. I love the sport, but I admit I haven't really paid any attention to it since the Astros front office should be charged with criminal negligence for how they've done to the team.

Angels should have hung on to their free agents. I don't know what's in the water down in Texas, but the Angels need to step it up if they want to knock off the Rangers. It always seems like the AL West shifts every year, because there hasn't been a dominant team that's held over like, 5 years in a while.
Also, the Red Sox have been on a streak since Papi finally started hitting. 5 homers, 7 RBIs, and batting in the high 300s for the last 10 games. He's basically sparked the entire team. On another note, Jason Bay is the best thing to happen to Boston since... Manny of old. If he keeps this up he'll be MVP for sure. The best part is, he hits as well as Manny did, without all the attitude problems!
Rays/Jays who? Flip and Flop is more like it. The Rays just can't compete with a rejuvenated Yankees lineup AND the same Red Sox with a deeper pitching staff, and the Jays have fizzled considerably. It's going to be the same photo finish between New York and Boston as per usual.
Last up on my agenda: Steroids. It's like AIDS in the 90's; huge build up when fringe people come out, but once one star comes out, society doesn't care anymore. See: Jose Canseco, Mark McGuire, Roger Clemens, Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez, Manny Ramirez, and now Sammy Sosa. The sad part is they're all going to make it to the hall of fame, and Pete Rose, who has the all-time hit record WITHOUT ROIDS, isn't. "There's something wrong with the world today/I don't know what it is/Something's wrong with our eyes".

Anybody think that Bryce Harper and Steven Strausburg would have a lot of potential in the majors if they were drafted into the majors in their current state? Even if they were in the Washington Nationals i dont really think that they have enough to carry to whole team to playoffs.
