Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Okay, so fair I've hatched 2 shiny eggs, and now am aiming (aiming mind you) for the flawless spread in November (With flawless Ditto as a parent). So if I want a shiny, is there anyway to reduce the number of taps with the right nature I want (Rash)? Seems to me I pretty much have to get lucky when catching stuff to even have Rash appear, yet alone with a decent amount of taps. Does date changing help my chances at all?

Also if I'm aiming too high for my fist shot at perfect breeding, is SR for legends easier? Unfortunately I released all of them before finding this stuff out, but I can still go for Dialga/Palkia.

Just a question that popped into my head when thinking about finding seeds and IV's and all that:

Can the knowledge from this thread as to what times and dates create certain IV's for legends be used to create more accurate hack checks? Or is this knowledge being used now, or what?

I do believe that this is impossible, at least for the roaming ones, as I talked with Mesprit in the year 2063, to get the shiny spread that I wanted, and after I confirmed that he was indeed shiny, I saved the game and put the clock back to 2009, so I could capture it on the right year.

a new trouble arises for me and it deals with the frame for breeding. In one of the guides it said to ride around soleceon for the frame to go up to what you want but has not worked at all. I wait for the cowgirls to move around but i keep bouncing from frame 6 to frame 11 back and forth back and forth. It just happened recently when the frame is always off. (if i change to a new spread to adjust to the frame shift i get an entirely new range).

Can anyone tell me how to keep the frame stationary at the proper amount? Ive heard something about the journal but can someone explain that more thoroughly?

so one tap for the happiness thing is a double tap right?

Yes, or you can think of it as one unanimous hop = one successful tap. (:

I had trouble learning how to set the frame too at first, heh. I would personally just mash the A button even after the continue screen up till the conversation shows up with the old man. Stop right there, look at where the Buneary is, and then go hatch the egg to find the frame. Then I'd go and hold the frame as my constant and just find other good spreads with that frame instead of trying to make my frame what I want it to be, paying attention to where the Buneary is everytime I talk to the man to make sure it's the same. It's less stressful for me, at least. Maybe other people have better methods, but I just learned IV abuse two days ago and it works fine. If you have AR to help you check IVs, it's probably even faster for you. DX

So, If my Delay is something drastically high and I change the year to make it 619 (one I consistently hit) does the Frame change at all?

I think the frame stays the same as long as you grab the egg at exactly the same time each time you try (after pressing the continue button, not the DS time) :0

thanks ill see if the bunny will help me

Edit: While i was checking to confirm my frame i had a 31/31/31/x/31/30 swellow shiny. I guess ill keep that and try your method on the next one.

Is this considered hax

this may be stupid question but is this considered hacking by the pokemon community. What i really mean is if i get a shiny pokemon this way and go to the Pokemon 2009 regional video game tournament with it will i get disqualified. I know it doesn't involve a game action replay so i personally think it shouldn't be considered hacking because if you have the brains to understand how to do this and actually master it then i think you deserve it. The thing is other haters might not think so because it gives u a guaranteed shiny with good IVs.

While i am at it is the matsuda method where u change the chances to 1 in 2000 by breeding with a foreign pokemon considered cheating. i already got a shiny beldum that way and i want to give this a try too so i can say i have gotten a shiny through every possible way.

I'm having a problem with mingot's RNG reporter. When I try to get a shiny egg, it doesn't find a starting seed. Let's put what I do.

1. Load the RNG reporter.

2. Change the Method to DPPt Egg PID (Normal)

3. Make sure my ID and SID are there and click on the Shiny Only box

4. Go on DPPt Seed Finder

5. Turn on my DS, start the game and put the time and date I started at into the Seed Finder.

6. I'm at the resort area, so I catch a karp.

7. I check the IVs with Metal Kid's calculator.

8. Put the Nature and correct IVs into the Seed Finder.

9. Click the "Find" button

That's when I get the message that the IVs aren't correct. I know they are and I know the starting time is correct. Yes, my pokewatch is on the app right before happiness checker. Any help here?

FearthePika: the IVs are probably wrong. you'll need to level it up, recording every level to make sure you get accurate IVs. Or, use AR for an IV check code.

Marado: The whatever method you refer to, using an international ditto, is not hacking. It's naturally in the game, therefore, it is not cheating. IV abusing is not hacking either, as it uses the natural coding of the game. You should be fine at VGC. To be safe, only use pokemon you can validate the source of, like your own, or, people with a reputation of being honest traders and breeders.

Ok, so I now want to go for a Heatran. I found this spread:
Seed 25050262
Frame 197
Rash, M 31/30/26/30/31/31

Now, the time I'm going to aim for is 5:22:14, since it takes me 14 seconds to get into the game. Now the delay is 601, so to make sure i get this:

I need to first of all get a delay of 601, which is checked by flipping coins. I should be facing Heatran at this point correct? When I SR the game I should be there I think.

Then it's frame 197, take 1 from Heatran to get 196, which is 98 Journal flips. After flipping the Journal 98 times, I quit out of it and talk to Heatran. Is that right?

Don't forget to input the time in the 24h format, and double check the IVs and Nature.

correct

I might as well put this now
When IV abusing is it okay to hatch the egg first, then catch something?
Also, for platinum, is it common to get a seconds of 2-3?

no, seconds for me is the same across all games. You must be synching your clock wrong or inputting info wrong. double check everything.

And, yes, you can hatch the egg first.

I did double check everything
I've gotten 2-3 seconds
The only thing I can think of is that instead of catching the pokemon on the minute I SRed, I catch it on the minute after, make a difference?
and then my delay fluctuates a lot, 610-640ish
And just in case, my frame usually = 7

Are you starting up your game at the beginning of each minute? That's usually how people go about it, that way you get the same seconds every time (like in my case 16).

However if you're getting 2-3 seconds consistently, there's really no problem. >_> Consistency is the most important thing so you can hit that spread again.

Yeah that's what I thought, though I'm still wondering if it's okay that I catch the pokemon/data input the minute after I soft reset
Maybe I SR in advance, and after hatching the egg, catch a pokemon on the new minute?

The moment when you catch a pokemon doesn't matter, what you need to input is the time when you hit continue. That's the second that you will get, the second that was on you DS clock on the exact moment that you pressed 'A' on Continue Screen.

So, if you're getting a consistent 2-3, and you have this delay, I can assume that you're SR when your DS clock is marking 50 seconds from the minute before. So, you need to input the minute not from the time you SR, but for the minute that started before you pressed 'A' at continue.

Hope I made myself clear.

so how do i get my Bold Cresselia with HP-Ground(70)? i got the RNG reporter but i dont know how to use it.

Have you read the OP? If not there's no way anyone can help you when you don't know anything, if you have read the OP do you have any specific questions, or areas that you don't understand?

I have one tiiiiiiiiny question.

When using AR while calibrating my time, at one point should I press start so that the second start counting at the new minute?

It's cool if no one knows for sure. I've been fooling around with it.
