Sadly it's too late...I guess I got a bit overexcited over the IVs since I was getting next to shit before ....and I was SRing for about 4-5 days at that point -_-

Any substitutions I can make for HP Ice on the Life Orb sets since mine basically has the power of a Quick Attack?

air slash - earth power - psychic are alll viable options on Shaymin, though rash isn't the best nature.

Thanks, I thinks I'll use Psychic in my last slot (already have Earth Power and Air Slash).

Guess I'll have to wait until Nintendo/GameFreak distribute that item that allows you to go to Flower's Paradise so I can SR again for a better Shaymin. Who knows how long that'll be -_-...

anyone have a definition for Theorymon?

i know what it is and how it works, i just can't think of how to put it in a formal definition

I would say it's planning how a certain Pokemon or Pokemon moveset would work in certain hypothetical situations, but it's merely theorizing and hasn't been tested in the field.

Theorymon is using statistics and calculations to show how something is or is not broken, rather than how it actually works.

It is frequently criticized for not actually being reasonable when applied. For example, one could show that Pokemon X outspeeds and OHKOs the top 10 most used Pokemon in its metagame with their common sets, and therefore it is too good. But what about Scarfed Pokemon? What about Pokemon #11? What about the 15-20 other highly usable Pokemon in the metagame? What about the Pokemon that are borderline usable in that metagame, etc

did nintendo take out no guard dynamic punch hitting through protect on platinum? also, did they take out 100% thunder in blizzard in their weather effects?

If I use Brine on a Pokemon that has <50% and they switch out into something that had >50%, will the incoming Pokemon be hit for 130 base power?

could anybody suggest an alternative to using latias as a special sweeper/tank? something that is available in diamond/platinum because i have no way of obtaining a new latias.

Jikos - Pretty much every set that Latias does well is either a special sweeper or a tank...you might want to clarify what you mean by those terms.

The Latias sets worth using are Defensive/Offensive Calm Mind, Life Orb with 3 attacks and Recover, Choice Specs/Scarf, Dual Screens and Wish support.

supermarth64 - I'm fairly certain the answer is no.

Tyler - I'm not 100% sure on No Guard, but I think it was removed. Thunder and Blizzard still have 30% chances to hit through Protect in Rain and Hail respectively.

TempestJG - Theorymon is making statements about Pokemon, in particular about a specific pokemon or moveset, without backing it up with experience. It's usually based around calculations and performance in common situations (ie sweeper x 2HKOs everything in OU provided Stealth Rock and Sandstorm are up).

Can I trade National Dex Pokemon from my Pearl over to Platinum, before getting the National Dex in Platinum?

I ask because I'm thinking of borrowing a friend's DS to trade mine over, but wanted to make sure it's possible before asking my friend.

Does Yawn fail if used on a pokemon which has already be statused (eg. burned, poisoned, paralyzed, or frozen)?

Sorry if this has been asked before, I searched this thread and then Google and found nothing on it.

Yes. Yawn will fail if:
1) the opponent already has a status condition
2) the opponent has insomnia
3) another poke of your opponents is asleep due to one of your pokes moves(not rest) examples: sleep powder, yawn, spore

- note: a poke can be drowsy from yawn and then rest before falling asleep. This gives them the normal rest sleep in which they wake up after 2 turns. In the event of that happening, you may, if they switch, then use yawn on a different poke and inflict the sleep status on them since the original poke did not fall asleep due to yawn.

Yes.

When is the suspect testing for UU, and not as important where can I find the eligability requirements for voting?

It's an ongoing constant thing. The second half of part 2 of testing will begin when the ladder debate is finished (see Policy Review). Voting requirements will be in the thread that opens when the ladder is up (you can always go find the first thread that has the ratings if you don't want to wait). It should be noted that rating will likely reset, so any rating you get now is irrelevant to testing.

Where's the leaderboard for the Smogon Tour? Figured I'd ask here instead of making a thread.
Here.

Yeah, you can trade national dex pokemon over before you get it, as well as evolving them etc before.

Soon, there'll be a thread made once it starts.

Why do people use DD on resttalk gyara sets? I mean its so easily phazed by anything.
Phazing is getting fairly rare on non-stall teams, and against them last pokemon RestTalk DDGyara can set up without fear of getting phazed.
