Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Ok, I don't get the gender percentage on the RNG reporter. I'm just doing shiny RNG, and when I got the taps for my Riolu the gender slots were 25% F 12.5% M 25% F 75% F. But when I hatched the egg, it was male. How does it work? I need to hatch a couple of Female pokemon, and I'm tired of hatching an egg where it's only 12.5% M and having it male.

It refers to the percentage that that pokemon will be male/female (Ex: Lucario has a 87.5% chance of being male, and 12.5% of being female. If RNG Reporter says 12.5% female, it will be female. The opposite is also true). At least, that's what I think...

I gots to know.
1. Has the process gotten much simpler in the past several weeks?
2. What's the easiest spread and nature to RNG for Giratina-O?
3. Where's the best place? Reverse or the cave I can't think of right now?

Alright, I really want to RNG abuse and get my Shiny, so I was hoping you guys could tell me what I did wrong.

I've been trying it for a few days now and have failed all attempts. I'm trying to breed a Shiny Manetric. Preferably with Timid nature, but I'll settle for Quiet or Modest. With my first try I got a Lonely Electrike instead of a Modest one.

To get that I followed the IRNG abuse for Shinyness.

Here's what I did:

- I had a party of five Pokemon.
- I had compatible Parents. (LightningFusion's Ditto and The Mole's Mitchell Manetric) (With the IV's for the Ditto being Hex-Flawless and it's Nature being Modest and the Manetric had 30/15/31/30/31/30
[FONT=&quot])
- I went to the Survival Area and saved there so that I could catch a Pokemon Level 50 and over at Route 226. I had my Begineer Pokemon Empoleon, my Starly, my Electivire, Mitchell's Manetric, and LF's Ditto. With an empty slot.
- I had my Poketch app at the one before the Happiness Checker and then I saved the game.
- I turned of my gave then turned it back on and made note of my DS time and date, down to the minute.
- I went into the Grass patch on Route 226, ran into a Machoke Level 49.
- I ran away.
-Then I ran into a Ratticate level 50 and caught it.
-I opened up the RNG Reporter and clicked on DPPT Seed Finder and clicked on the tap that said "Find Initial Seed by Stsats"
- I inputed in the year, date, and time of the DS down to the minute that I clicked "A" on the Continue Screen.
- I found my Seed.
- I clicked on it then clicked "OK".
- Then it took me back to the RNG Reporter 5.20 by mingot and I clicked on "Generate".
- I got a lot of frames.
- The only Timid Frame had 4396 Happiness Checker Double Taps and 0 Con Flip Taps.
- I tried doing that since I really wanted it, but since reaching 100 took me a while I just went for a Modest Frame with 826 Happiness Checker Taps and 8 Coin Flip Taps.
- I walked out of the Grass Patch. There were no NPC's.
- It took me four hours to rech 826 but I did. Then I messed up and only clicked on the empty spaces for the Coin Flip App.
------
Today, I tried again. :

- This time, I didn't move and I did all the Taps for both of the Apps.
-Then I flew to Solocean Town and deposited the Raticate in a Box.
- I put Mitchell and Syberia's Ditto in the Daycare.
- Biked up and down Soloceon Town the Day Care man had an Egg.
- Flew to Hearthome to Hatch the Egg.
- Hatched to verify Shinyness.
-It wasn't Shiny.
- I got a Lax Nature. :(

What did I do wrong??

Just for reference, I'm not abusing for IV's since even though my first try was a fluke. I did get a pretty good Electrike.

Electrike
Nature: Lonely
Ability:Lightningrod
IV's: 18/31/18/ 26/ 31/31 (Hidden Power Grass 70)

I seem to be having a bit of trouble getting the offset correct.

I've been aiming for an Azelf spread using the legends method. Three times I have gotten the correct seed by getting the correct seconds/delay and then using coin flips to test whether or not it is correct. I then proceeded to use the journal flip method, and have come up with three different offsets. The first one was 42 frames late, which is far too many to have been a simple miscounting, while the next two were 18 frames late and 11 frames late.

Each time, I have opened the journal and flipped to the day before 35 times (I am aiming for an offset of 71), yet still have not gotten the correct results.

I have saved in front of Azelf, and I have not moved at all any of these times. The journal opened immediately each time, but, to a page where I had not caught or defeated a pokemon, simply traded.

To further test the offset, occasionally when I do not get the correct coin flip I capture Azelf anyway and check its seed for offset. Doing this has not ever shown an offset of 1 or 3 (if the journal opened), but usally somewhere in the 50's.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, any help?

@ Kaidu: You need to catch the first pokemon you battle, so next time, catch the Machoke :). Also, I don't know if it matters, but I leave my parents in the PC until after I find my seed and do the taps/flips.

1. No not really, and I really don't forsee it getting substantially easier than it is right now. Sorry.

2. Use the Time Finder.

3. Probably turnback cave since you can hit lower frames.

I am old people with bad eyes. I could not read any of this. Sorry.

You really don't try to get the offset correct. You are targeting a frame number. Does not sound like you are using Method J to generate and compare.

oh, my understanding was that offset and frame were the same thing.

I think I understand what I'm doing wrong now, thanks ^^

Ok I have been SRing to try to get the IV's right on a pokemon I am trying to get. I have been going through the process testing with the coin flips app for a while now and havent gotten the right one yet. I was just wondering if it is normal for it to take a million tries or if I am doing something wrong.

Since it's your first time, it may take a while to get. You are checking with the coins after you take the egg right.

Wait, am I spposed to check the coin flips right after I get the egg? Does it affect anything if I hatch, then check? I've been having exactly the same problem.

Whn I'm calibrating to find out what my frame is, is there a certain place I should go that's better than the others? I'm assuming that the Resort Area is out because of the NPC's who move constantly?

You check after you get the egg. It doesnt matter before or after the hatch. If you have an AR and IV check code, you don't need to check with coin flips.

So I download the upatred RNG Reporter, choose teh "time Finder" and then what? Choose nature and hit Generate? Or am I going to have to match my DS and PC (in this case) time's together?

@LF, is the IV check code even accurate? And how are you supposed to even SR w/that thing attached to the game?

Ohhh... could this be my problem? I use the Resort Area all the time...

The Giritina-Man : Is that a joke question, is the IV checker code accurate? Of course it is. You just have to choose you're spread you want for eggs, and what natures and IVs for legends.

robalo and xia - What do you mean xia, use resort area to check for frame. If you are breeding eggs, what you do is take the egg and go catch a pokemon, get the seed, and generate the breeding dppt list and find what frame your egg is.

I suggest all of you re read the OP.

No, I'm talking about getting my initial seed (my terminology isn't exact as of yet >.>).

Does the NPC's affect my initial seed? That's the question I'm asking.

Your seed is made as soon as you start the game from continue. NPCs only advance the frames it after that, so it doesnt affect the seed, just the frame of the seed.

Does anyone have any advice or any suggestions on how to be more accurate with my IV Soft resetting that hasn't been said in the OP?
