Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Apparently, I was mistaken. Fishing and not catching anything advances the RNG by one frame, fishing and catching something will advance by 3. That is, if you catch something at frame x, its nature/IVs will be generated according to frame x+3.

So since my calibration phase (with 20 tests) had two different delays that were "tied" for the most common, should I do more testing to narrow it down, or should I just pick one of them? I posted my results here.

Also, Viletung, you said I should check my frames during my initial calibration phase... I actually just threw my Master Ball at the Pokémon, input its stats and the time of reset into the Seed Finder, and then reset again (at the exact minute) without saving each time, so I don't have any of them to use to check the frame. What good does it do me to find the frame in this phase? I thought all I was interested in here was seconds and delay...

<imperfectluck> Syberia your 2050+ pokemon passed the hack check
<imperfectluck> in phoenix
<imperfectluck> thanks a bunch!
So now people can stop worrying quite so much about caught dates and shit.

Alright, I'm lost: I have been calibrating my frame for a while now, and it is split evenly between 2 and 4. I plug Seconds: 14 and Delay: 623-633 into the DPPt Time Finder and Generate my results. However, whenever I try to attempt one of the spreads generated, I am unable to hit the target frame (be it 2 or 4). I then try generating "Adjacent Results," and check the coin flips, but none of them match (I checked from frame 1 to 99, seconds 13 to 15). I'm completely new at this, so I'm probably messing up a lot, but any help would be appreciated.
Could somebody help me, please? If you need more info, just say so and I'll do my best.

Im a but curious as to why the same shiny IV's come up for different natures
the spread 22/17/26/22/22/30 came up for both modest and Timid, 28/25/28/26/31/31 come up for both hasty and mild. Is this a coincidence?

This happens to everyone and there is a reason for it. They have enough similar info to make them both shiny or something. Not exactly sure what part of the PID and crap.

Best thing you can do is after taking your egg you catch a wild pokemon to check your seed then check your frame.

From there you can use the journal to find a spread on a frame that meets your requirements.

Alright, thanks. And just to make sure, walking forward 1 step advances the RNG by 1?

Only in areas where wild pokemon appear. Otherwise 128 steps in a place where wild pokemon do not appear advances the frame equal to the number of pokemon in your party.

I'm not sure why you need to know that particular piece of information at this point in time when you're only abusing an egg's IVs.

Does anyone know how to sort spreads in excel? I searched all of my timid shiny spreads and want to sort them.

Oh, sorry, I meant Frame. How do I advance that by one (for an odd one)? As I may have mentioned, I'm a complete n00b at this.

You can't advance by one. Just find your frame and use the journal to advance your frame by 2 for each flip to a page with a captured or defeated pokemon.

Only search for spreads that are multiples of +2 of your starting frame.

During the frame calibration stage of breeding a perfect pokemon, I'm having trouble.... First of all, i have my DS clock synchronized with my external clock, but for the one step that involves me moving the date forward 2 days, it messes w/ the clock on my DS, so how can i get it to work?? or do i even need to synchronize it after that? Also, after hatching the egg and getting the IV's, do i really have to scroll through 100,000 different spreads to find witch one is mine? If someone could just PM it would be a great help, im like ripping my hair out over this.......

Alright, thanks for the help. I'll try again, then...
Just find a save that doesn't have such erratic frames. I usually save, SR, then see if any of the NPCs around me move immediately. If there is no movement for at least a moment, I use that save and usually get frame 3. If they do move immediately, save and try again.

1. Flip your DS date ahead 2 days, then synch the time.

2. Right click your spread results and output them to excel, from there you can easily find your spread. It doesn't really take long to match up at least the first few IVs with one on the list.

what do you mean by excel? i'm really new to this....

You know Microsoft Excel? You right click and choose output to CSV, which is an excel file.

ok i see now, then can i search the file for the spread i want? or does it just make a bigger window for me to scroll through?

edit: when i pick to output it brings up a window with my documents or whatever but i cant find Microsoft Excel, i dont think i have it maybe?

Does anyone else use an Action Replay when trying to abuse the rng for IV's? I think I'm having troubles synching my reset with the start of a minute, and was wondering when I should hit "Start" on the Action Replay home screen.

I use an AR. I synch my ds with pc clock. Put in AR turn off then on ds. At hh:mm:29.5 i hit start for the AR. I usually get 46 for my seconds. Try seeing what seconds you get yourself if you do it my way.

I will. Thanks LightningFusion.

I tried to hit start at hh:mm:54, to get the black opening page to come up at the turn of the minute, but I'm way off. For some reason I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around all of this at once. @.@

Im sorry if this is a bad place to post this question, but when I get the different shiny PIDs and i dont get a nature I like, how far back to I have to restart? Do I have to catch a new pokemon and start all over?

Hey, I am trying to learn how to RNG abbuse on my pearl, I am starting with hatching a shiny but I have a question. When double tapping on the happiness, if I single click on an emptor doubly space or click on a pokemon how will this affect the double tap count?

yes sadly, you have to go back to step 2 and catch a new pokemon to find a new seed

Single clicks do not affect the RNG.

What is an "emptor doubly space" ?
