Leafeon: (Defensive and Support Characteristic) Possibly the best user of Roar. Leafeon is only rivaled by Tangrowth as the best Physical Wall in the tier. With few physical weaknesses, and resistance to Earthquake, Leafeon can switch into Ground types with ease, and hit them with Leaf Blade, or just Wish to heal teamates. 110 At, Swords Dance, and 95 Spe can also let Leafeon sweep, or pass it to something else to sweep.
Venomoth is a million times better then beedrill. It has access to Sleep Powder, Bulkier stats, and Tinted lens, which makes everything think twice before it switches in.I've been trying a stall team, but the best I can come up with for t-spikes is beedrill. I'm running:
Beedrill @ Focus Sash
252 att, 252 spe, 4hp
Jolly
Toxic Spikes
Endeavor
Quick Attack
X-Scizzor
Acts like an NU roserade. Are there any other decent choices for t-spikes?
What other combos have you guys noticed seem to work? Apart from the obvious tangice/hypgrowth theres
bastioblim: bastiodon serves as an awesome mixed mall and one of the few steels in nu, but with its fighting and ground weak its easy to wall. However, drifblim is immune to both of these attacks and often when it gets a substitute up, it can get to unburden/petaya range and sweep with little effort and fear from linoones espeed and hitmonchans mach punch.
ive also used dual screen + memento macargo and linoone to great success as its very easy to pull off a sweep.
Whats the best response to regibro?
I usually have a tough time taking it down.
Isnt't it better to use fire attacks from fire types? As in, Registeel and Slowbro? They're both UU :s
Unless you mean Regice. Though there's nothing ending in "bro" in NU.
Ah bugger it I'll let you explain yourself.
Regice is usually broken down by any Fighting attack really.
Flareon and Rapidash are both mixed sweepers who can break through a lot in this tier. Rapidash has the speed advantage but Flareon has much better attacking stats (30 more base Atk, 15 more base SpAtk) and his Fighting attack is much more powerful (Double Kick vs Superpower), so either of them have enough strength to break down a lot of offensive combos.
In fact with some speed investment on Flareon it can break a hell of a lot. I'm gonna put him on my team...
It's not exactly set-up bait or a good switch in thanks to Sludge Bomb.problem with venomoth is that even with tinted lense its still set up bait for drifblim since both ghost and flying resist bug.
Of coarse scarfers will outspeed anything. Venomoth still has 90 base Speed (great speed in NU) and will be outspeeding a lot of things. The Attack movepool problem is easily patched up with tinted lens. No NU pokemon can resist Sludge Bomb and Bug Buzz with it.While its a threatening sweeper, its still outsped by the numerous scarfers and has a very poor movepool attack wise.
