The Smogon Server is currently down, don't spam this thread with "its not working, etc." It will be up when Doug gets to it, probably sometime tomorrow.
 
i'm having a somewhat peculiar problem in that i cannot accept challenges. that is, if someone challenges me i will hit accept only to have nothing happen. i'm running the latest version of java and the latest version of shoddy on a mac (if that helps)

To add on to this, please do not use the CAP server's playtesting ladder as a substitute for SU's OU ladder. We are currently running a playtesting test and all the OU battles will skew our statistics.
 
Ok, I downloaded shoddy and play for a few weeks, today(when i started shoddy) the server page shows this:

Smogon University [0/500] (shoddybattle.smogon.com:50000)

And, when I try to connect, it shows this error message:


An error occurred while attempting to connect to the server:

Connection refused: connect
 
If the smogon server is down where are we having the tour?

Edit: nevermind, i looked on yesterdays and saw it was supposed to be on the cap server
 
Hmm, ok, so it seems that i'm having problems with connectivity to my server.I seem to be the only one able to actually log onto it.I'm not using a local host either, but a sub-domain.Help?
 
Okay, I know that we build a team, but I have no Idea WHERE I go to get the file to build the team, I'm new and I need help. x-x I can't find it. (It's probably somewhere obvious, I just can't find it because I suck.)
 
Up at the top when you are in a server go to file ---> New team.

Then go to the FIND TAB and go load team and select the team you just made.
 
I have a Mac, and for some reason when I go into the team builder I can't find where the item selection is. It really hinders me.


EDIT: Found it. It's in the line below the ability bar, if anyone needs it.
 
Tpaz, do me a favor. Go into Spotlight and search Java Preferences. Now, under the General tab move J2SE 1.4.2 in both boxes to the top.
 
It is possible, Plus wrote a little thing explaining how to change them (not for Pt sprites specifically):
Go to your Local Disk, and perform an advanced search of Shoddy Battle. You should be able to find a folder named Shoddy Battle. Click it, and you should be redirected to Shoddy Battle 1.0, where you can locate sprites, and your boxes. Replace your folder with mines. Someone will probably have to make a Pt folder before this is easy for that you want to do. You are done.

I found mines here, although I use Vista. If you use XP, I believe it is

C:\Documents and Settings\Name\local configuration\program data\Shoddy Battle\Shoddy Battle\1.0\frontnormal

If you use Vista, the one below should locate it.

And in the SB2 thread Numbuh said he could make a tool that would do it automatically with the code from Dougs CaP sprite updater.

Ok, I've been battling for maybe a month on Shoddy, and I finally make an Uber team. My lead is a Deoxys-S. My opponent sends out a Darkrai as his lead. I try to Taunt it so it can't sleep me, but somehow, his Darkrai went first, and put me to sleep. Sure Darkrai are fast, but against a Deoxys-S? That's ludicrous!

Hi, I'm having problems connecting to shoddybattle. When I attempt to log in with my info, nothing happens. I press the Log In button after I entered my info, and the Log In button stays "clicked" and nothing happens. However, it isn't frozen because I can still click the "X" on the top right and it immediately brings me to the Welcome window. I am positive that the info I entered was correct. Help anybody?
 
I've also got a problem of my own - Pikachu's Light Ball doesn't double it's attack. I'm positive, as when I equip the Choice band after the Light Ball, Pikachu's attack increases while it's SpA decreases.

Or is the light ball only supposed to double SpA? No, the Smogon Database says otherwise...
 
Light Ball is correctly implemented in Shoddy Battle 1. However, it will not appear to boost attack in the team builder.
 
how do i make saved logs more viewable/better organized? is it just change it to .txt and break the lines myself?


edit: nvm i got it, .doc does the trick
 
I was doing a random battle, and used Rollout against Rotom-H, and Rotom was immune to it, despite Rollout being Rock type. Is this a bug?
