Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I can not get Griratina. My frame is 866 i have no wandering pokemon running around since i have yet to talk to any of them. So 866-12(torn world)= 854 divided by 2 = 427 journal flips unless im doing something wrong with the math i cant get the right one. My seconds and delays are spot on so i know thats not the problem and i made sure i counted right. Any ideas whats wrong?

I'm not sure, but when I left the Torn World and came back, I noticed that my Giratina frame was always 1, not 12. I should have tested before I went out, but at the time I wasn't using the RNG to get spreads.

That might be whats happening to me i left and came back to the torn world. But i still don't know what to do if the frame for Giratina is 1.

866-1=865/2=432.5 im confused.

You can't do that for math shinymilotic. you have to do the minus at the beginning, not when it's convenient for you.

866 - 1 = 865
865 - (amount of pokes you have with you)
You need to have 1, 3, or 5 pokemon with you and walk 128 steps. After 128 steps, it will advance it by the number of pokemon you have with you. then from there, do the divide by 2. And next time you get the frame wrong, check what spread you did get so you know how many frame you are off.

About the RNG abuse for HGSS, it will be possible. Odds are they will keep the same RNG method 1 and what they will change is probably 2 different things. They may make a new method like method J and/or they will change how the seed is gotten from the beginning.

Shiny - You do the minus at the beginning, and you don't minus starting frame and monster frame. If you're SS and its 3, you do
Target frame - 3 then do the dividing.

I don't know, I have basically the same problem, I get the coin flips matching, do the journal flips and its Lonely, not Jolly.

Edit: I need to get frame 469, and on frame 472 there is a lonely nature. Is this right?

Target Frame - Starting frame - Monster Frame / 2 = Journal flips?

469-3=466-1=465/2= 232.5

Do you take the monster frame off after dividing by 2? I want to get the flips right.

Isn't the starting frame 0 when your doing wild poke's?
it would be something like this 469-1=468/2=234

You always do Target frame - # (whatever number the OP gives you for what you are doing; 5 for cress and mesprit, 1 for many legends, 2 for SS, 3 for SS on water)

Whatever that gets as a result, you divide that by 2 if it's even. If it's odd, you do what you need to to advance it by an odd number, either walking 128 steps or if in wild grass/water/caves, turning once.

So just to make sure i reading you clear i would do 866-1= 865 -the number of poke's on my party (4). 865-4=861\2=430.5
Im guessing i take out 3 out my party to make so it doesnt have any reminder. So it would be 865-1=864/2= 432

Yea, you just need an odd number so instead of taking 3 out, you can just add one since that allows you to have a flyer still and I think you need pokes to get through the mountain again. then 866 - 1 = 865 - 5 = 860 /2 = 430

Don't killed birds respawn when you beat the E4? The guide implies they (as well as pretty much every legendary) do. And logically, they'd be "re-rolled" like the others, most obvious example being Giratina.
Remember when I posted this, and was told they wouldn't respawn?

I just tried it. They DO.

I figured you guys would like to know this. No more "only one good bird per file" problems.

Okay i think i got what your saying.
So im going add one more to my party (5)
866-1=865 now i walk 128 steps to drop it by 5 then i divide it by 2
is that correct? and by turing you mean just doing a a normal turn example
im facing left and then i tap it to face right?

Yes thats right. Don't worry about the turning thing since it is for wild pokemon in grass but what you said is right about it.

Megamewtwo - Very nice discovery. If you can, can you see how the IVs are generated if, lets say you capture one and defeat the other two. Does it just shift to the other frame like if you caught the frame 6 one, would the frame 11 bird go to frame 6 and does it keep the same order?

I can't exactly take credit for discovering it, it's in the official guide, and I've heard of GameFAQers doing this. I just wanted to see it for myself (that and the birds were all crap). I don't abuse though, so I can't help there.

So all we'll have to do is catch one, then KO the other 2, or what? I get what you're saying about re-spawning, but how do we do it? If I can find out, I'll try and check LF.

Target Frame 248.

248 -5 (Cresselia) -5 (128 Steps with 5 Pokwmon in Party = 238 /2 119 flips, right?

Does it matter that you walk or flip first? I did this twice and both times messed it up somehow. Possibly because my journal didn't open in the beginning- does that have any effect?

It's possible that the step counter is saved with the game (I know the step counter for hatching eggs is saved) and then reaches 128 almost immediately (within the first 22 steps), advancing by 5. Then you hit 128 again in the remaining steps up to 140. try doing about 30 steps (and the journal flips of course), then catch Cresselia and see if you hit your target.

I was wondering that too. do just 128 steps and if it's save, it should only advance by 5.
