You only need like one or two supporters and the support can be used for any of the other 3-5 pokemons on your team.
And Jumpluff is better because of 110 speed (and Gardevior can do a lot of better things in this environment)

Lots of stuff can still hurts Linoone pretty badly after -2 Atk. Especially if they Swords Dance as you suicide.

Fun fact: Substitute blocks Memento's stat drops but doesn't prevent you from dieing. Protect completely cancels out Memento.

jumpluff also has a variety of other moves to make sure of the sweep
Encore (stops protect and subs kinda), Reflect, u-turn, and sleep powder and most people don't usually assume that a jumpluff is sucidal. ( and you are faster than all but four of the NU tier)

Why are you using U-turn?

So, Jumpluff has a somewhat better movepool for supporting Linoone, but Gardevoir is easier to use, has higher stats, and can utilize Trace for "free" switch-ins.

You seem to be forgetting that gardevoir has both reflect and light screen. It also has better sp defense and can hurt things with its base 125 sp attack. It also has taunt.

All jumpluff has is speed and encore.

Your list seems a bit short...

Jumpluff can...

Sleep Powder
Stun Spore
U-Turn
Encore
Memento
Reflect

and has...

Better Typing
Faster Speed

Gardivoir can...

Hypnosis
Reflect
Light Screen
Memento
Taunt
Thunder Wave
Trick
Will'o'Wisp

Gardevior has...

Better Abilities
Better Attacking Stat

Jumpluff is the best setup Pokemon in the game IMHO.

Jumpluff can Encore, which is generally the best option for setting something up (see: Wobbuffett-> Anything), and U-turn in case you want to do this more than once. And Encore goes through Sub.

I guess I should have elaborated ore.Since Jumpluff has Encore it gives it more chances to set up the Set Up for Linoone. As in like Encore-> Sleep Powder -> Screen (optional I guess)-> Memento/Uturn. Anyways, I think we should get off the topic of weather Jumpluff or Gardevoir is better for setting up Linoone, because Kadabra does what both of them can do ;P ( Encore, Double screens).

Although I did type alot more in that last post before remembering you can switch out of Encore (I was just playing Ubers)

Which pokes in NU are the best for setting up Sunny Day?

And how does Tropius do in the NU metagame? Does his 4x weakness to Ice really hurt him or are Ice attacks less prominent?

Generally leafeon, exeguttor or something that can abuse the sun. Though since almost everything learns it just see if something has a free moveslot.

Tropius isnt too bad of a swords dancer as ice attacks arent that common, although regice and articuno are common. Its problem is the multitude of revenge killers and stealth rock weak.

How come everyone's forgetting subseed Jumpluff? It's an absolute beast. Though it may be sort of outclassed by Sceptile in UU, it has a more reliable sleep move and is almost as fast. However in NU it could be a real threat. If a team has no counters to it, subseed Jumpluff is going to wreak havok.

I don't see how anyone could possibly ask a worse question in this thread.

lol i couldnt be bothered looking at the nu tier to see which pokemon so i thought ill ask here

and whats up with the nu pokemon description it aint explaining the movesets in nu tier

How could you forget Jumpluff afer a whole topic on him?

-Sunny Day
-Sleep Powder
-Encore
-U-Turn

He's perfect. I've been using this set in UU to GREAT sucess as a lead. He also has Clyrophyl (typo's, sorry) to be virtually the fastest thing in NU.

First of all, you asked a yes / no question. Second, every person who has played a Pokemon game before knows that the common generic bird Pokemon learns Quick Attack, so there's your answer.

Why is Jumpluff using Sunny Day?

NU articles will probably be writtien after the tier stabalizes a bit, I.E., the first round of suspects is done. But I myself don't see any suspects. While hyper offensive, I think the tier is quite balanced.

Sure, when it comes to abusing the sun, Exeguttor's better, but as a support lead, Jumpluff tops him with his Impressive speed and Encore. It has U-Turn too.

Raichu looks like it could deal some heavy damage in NU. It's the second fastest user of Nasty Plot in the tier, behind Persian, but it can deal considerably more damage.

There seem to be a lot of good defensive Pokemon in the tier too.. so I'm not sure about this ol' hyper offensive metagame. Megainum, Articuno, Cradily, Regice, Shuckle, Slowking.. and a lot more.

I can't wait until the ladder for it opens.
