thankyou very much :)

can nintendo tell if a pokemon's parents where caught using a wild pokemon modifier?

The answer is no. In fact, I doubt they could even tell if it was hacked as long as all the stats, movesets, and "met at" page are all in order.

Personally, I'm still too afraid to try outright hacking because I could be wrong and don't want to get kicked out of Worlds (that would be such a stupid waste for nothing :/ ), but when I was at Nationals, I talked to some dude from TPCI (not just one of those ridiculous "assistants") while he was actually hack checking my, and Siddarth's pokes.

Long story short he basically said to me outright that the device they use can check the IVs, EVs, Moveset, and "met at" of any of your pokemon that you have in your cartridge against a list of what's allowable.

He kind of turned the screen away from both of us while he was using it, but I did see that it came up in the form of a "download and play" program like those Wind Waker minigames or whatever, and then he just pushed some buttons looked at it while he was explaining it to me and goes "Uh, oh. We've got a problem. Your pokemon failed the hack check. You've got too few pokemon in your party." And I was like, "What?Q!?" And he was like "Nah! Just kidding you passed! :D"

thanks,
but i have a few questions still :P

Does that mean that nintendo can tell if i EV trained my team on pokemon from a wild pkm mod?
Also can they tell if i used a quick EXP gain cheat to train my pokemon?

Lastly does that mean that if i have a hacked pokemon in my game, even if im not using it in a tournament i can still get in trouble?

Does the Pokerus double-ev thing double the bonus from the power items (so if I got 2 evs from a pokemon normally, I'd get an extra four -> I'd get 6, then pokerus would double that for a total of 12, or would I get the 2, which would double to 4, then add on 4 for a total of 8?)

It would be the former, you get 2 + 4, getting 6, the Pokérus doubles that.

The latter's the system used with the Macho Brace.

W00t.

Do I need Pokemon Platinum to start competitive battling now? I really hope not, shelling out 50 bucks after I just bought Rock Band 2 last month = D:

What I meant was, do I need Platinum as opposed to my copy of Pearl that I already have? Will having pearl make it impossible to battle to my full potential, etc? I kind of want to get Plat. anyway, but I probably won't be able to for a long time.

No, you won't lose any competitive potential. You can still get the Rotom formes and Scizor with Bullet Punch for example from a person that has Platinum by trading.

You can still battle to your full potential, you'll just struggle with getting Pokemon that have Platinum tutor moves or Pokemon only accessible in Platinum, like Giratina-o.

To add on to what Fuzznip said, I also believe the accuracy of Hypnosis dropped in Platinum, but that may have also happened in Dp (I can't remember =P).

I need some help with RNG abuse. Please note that this is my last resort, I usually attempt to solve my own problems with the wonderful help of the interweb, but alas, I am stumped. I am trying to catch a Gyarados with good IVs. I have already calibrated and my numbers seem to fall within this range:

14 seconds
628-632 delay

I am attempting to use a spread that has already been found:

Seed = 3a140299

I plug this Seed into the "Seed to Time". I choose for a delay of 630 by setting my year to 2035. I am attempting to use the first row.

Date- 2035 01 01
Time- 20:00:57
Delay- 630

So far so good. So I set my DS to year and date 01.01.2035. I set my time to 20:00, and simultaneously, I start my stopwatch. Because of my 14 second time, I start pokemon at 43 seconds on my stopwatch so that I can hit the 57 second mark with the correct delay.

Here's where the problems start. I've done this about 10 times, very accurately, but each time, the coin flip check comes out wrong. Interestingly, the coin flips follow the same pattern each time....

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your time and your help.

Is there any way for me to get the secret key now the event has finished? If not, is there a known possibility that the event will be active again?

i realize that u-turn doesnt have priority but does it always go last or does it all depend on the pokemons speed?

No priority means that it's all speed based. Just like regular moves.

As for your other post, only Japanese Secret Keys could be shared, and you should probably get rid of that AR code.

And a question I've asked many times but nobody seems to know the answer to: What's with the two descriptions of the Classic Ribbon? I know it isn't a hack-related thing, my Manaphy's one switched descriptions after like a week.
