Damn, sorry Substitute, Flash Cannon, and Trick Room :(

Pluck is more overpowering than Aerial Ace, by a long shot. Not only does it do the same amount of damage, but it steals your berry, which were huge reasons why my leveled up Chikorita could be Falkner. I don't think this is correct, but Serebii also says it doubles the power if the foe has a berry. Either way, the move is better than Aerial Ace so early in the game.

Here's an idea, Falkner can give out Pluck. It isn't overpowering and would make more sense than having the overpowering Aerial Ace that early on in the game.

The rest can stay the same with some exceptions.

Aerial Ace and Pluck have the same BP, Aerial Ace just never misses and Pluck eats other Pokemon's berries.

I won't deny that it's a possibility, but I disagree that Aerial Ace is overpowering.

Pluck actually doubles in power with berries... Come to think of it, all of the flying type tm's are kind of strong in some sense or another. The HM's however...

Might as well have the gym leaders tutor moves.

Yeah, Winona gave out Aerial Ace, but at that point in the game, it was irrevelant. So Falkner would give out...maybe Steel Wing? @_@

Gyardos not learning it is irrelevant. The person said most.

Anyways, I doubt Steel Wing would be the TM of choice. As I can remember, no Gym Leaders gave TM's out that weren't their type in the modern games. The only time I remember that it wasn't the type was with Mud-Slap. But if you look at a TM list for GSC, they literally had no other options.

As for the possible TM's for beating Falkner, it'll probably be either pluck or Aerial Ace, not Roost. If you can't deal over 50% to Falkner's Pidgeotto, he wins. I'm leaning toward Aerial Ace over Pluck though, but that's just my opinion.

You can always hope Pidgeotto just doesn't use Roost. Whitney's Miltank had Milk Drink and Wallace's Milotic had Recover so I don't think GameFreak really cares if you can deal more than 50% to a leaders best Pokemon.

But still, early on in the game you can't deal as much damage, especially to a pokemon in its second evolution stage. IMO, Roost would make that gym incredibly annoying and time consuming. Plus, it would be much harder to beat the gym if you started out with Chikorita, which I honestly think doesn't need to be put at an even bigger disadvantage.

Has it been confirmed that the TM list will be the exact same as DPP?

Something like Tail Wind TM could definitely fit the bill. Of course, the absurdity of a Brave Bird TM tickles my tail feathers. :toast:

If they had different TMs, they probably wouldn't be compatible with D/P/P. Besides, Firered/Leafgreen had the same TMs as Ruby and Saphire

That would create a mildly annoying roadblock around 5 minutes into the game

I have made a fan-made/speculation (even though these moves aren't at all likely) for the Johto starters. It took me a while (although it still probably sucks >.>).

Mud Slap's side effect deals with accuracy.
Aerial Ace's side effect deals with accuracy.

Hardly logical, but I just don't know why people think Pluck would make it remotely fair. Again, unless you raised your starter and your starter only up until that point, berries allowed you to win. Pluck would destroy that.

EDIT: I hope waters(Feraligatr especially) receive the water equivalent of Double-Edge. Wood Hammer and Flare Blitz exist, why not something for waters? Personally, I don't think Gyarados needs any help(not that GF cares), but Feraligatr receiving it would be nice.

I never used berries during the game...
In any case, Aerial Ace seems more likely to me.

Also, as shown in D/P, not all Pokemon have the TM in their movesets, sometimes, not even the main Pokemon has it in the moveset (Cranidos not knowing Stealth Rock; Mismagus not knowing Shadow Claw; Bastiodon not knowing Flash Cannon in Platinum; Froslass not knowing Avalanche in Platinum; Electivire not knowing Flash Cannon in Platinum). So maybe just the Pidgey can have the TM move and not the Pidgeotto, lol.

EDIT: Yeah, I was trying to be realistic for the Chikorita family, but then I started being novelty-like for the other two. v_v

I've been watching news for this game pop up for some time now. Looks great.I also like how you most likely won't need GBA games after this game.
