Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

During my calibration phase I came out with a time of 30-31 seconds very consistently with a delay range of 596-610. The daycare man has my egg with the correct nature, gender, and ability; so, I'm done with that step and understand it quite well. My frame that I am saved on is 6 and my target frame is 14 with a delay of 607. My Target Time is 16:04:30, my Synchronize time is, therefore, 16:03:00, and my Reset time is, therefore, 16:04:00. I have tried to hit my time and delay several times, but the spread I hit never appears in the adjacent spread table. What am I doing wrong?

It occurs to me now that I have never hit an odd delay due to the fact that I don't have a 3rd gen cart inserted. If I wish to hit the 607 delay, I suppose that I need to insert a 3rd gen cart, is that correct?

Yes, that's right Jawshua. If you increase the year by one on the time finder, you should find the same spread with a delay of 606. Hope this helps.

Ok, advancing the year won't be a problem for me. However, any inklings on why I am unable to find the spreads I am actually hitting in the table?

Perhaps the adjacent results you have aren't broad enough. Like maybe you got a delay that is 11 higher than your target yet you have the delay range only 10 higher for adjacent. Or you are just hitting a frame way off, or the time on the ds is wrong for what you are trying, or you got the wrong seconds maybe and isn't in the adjacent range.

Yeah, it seems as though it's probably either the delay or the DS time since I'm able to hit that 30-31 second range with ease. Thanks for the help guys, I'll keep chugging along.

If it happens to you again where it is not listed in adjacent, go catch a pokemon and find the seed with that pokemon. That will tell you where you went wrong, if it was the delay or frame or whatever.

I have a question, when you RNG abusing for the bird trio, does all NPCs in Eterna city advance the frame?

Once you are in the building with Professor Oak, and in every other building, no NPCs outside of it affect it. Only NPCs in the building affect the RNG. Since Oak doesn't move, nothing advances it but what you do.

Hmm... I've got a problem with the hatching with the correct Ivs.
I did the

"11. Repeat steps 7-10 about 4 or 5 times, making a note of the frame number of the egg each time. We're going to use this number in the next step to find a suitable spread that we can hit with ease."

and the correct Iv's came up on frame 5. But thats following the rules stated. So I'm supposed to hit frame 5 Each time. But apparantly according to the front page, you start on frame 6 anyway? I'm confused =/

You don't start on frame 6. If you want to tell me where you saw this, maybe in an example in the OP, it could get fixed. You find out what frame it is for your egg, and do it every time. Since you got 5, use 5.

Ok, now I'm kind of confused about journal flips. As soon as I get to the Journal there is a catch on the first page, so this counts as one. My current spread requires 28 page turns; there for I just need to flip through 27 more times, correct?

I was wondering if someone knowledgeable about delays and the like could help me with some of my questions, perferably over PM as to not spam the thread with simple questions. EE has offered to help me, but I don't want to bother him because I already constantly ask him things.

Thank you.

I was thinking ... why isn't there a timer/clock in RNG reporter itself?
That sounds like a great idea.

The clock on your computer that you are using RNG reporter on is good enough to support synching. Mingot probably is using his time to do even better things then have a clock function incorporated into RNG reporter.

I know, but it was just a thought. :)
I also wasn't just talking "clock", I mean like a function like emloop.

My computer clock doesn't work right. The seconds aren't spaced evenly, it messes me up. It'll be like 23,24-25-26..............27.

Have you tried doing it still before, because the time is still right on the computer usually. I think it goes through some of the seconds faster and compensates for it by taking longer to get to some seconds. I've noticed this before on my pc, but it still works fine for me most of the time.

yawg07 - I know, I was just saying as a clock like function.
