I had trouble with this and had to ask for help on IRC so I'm posting it here for anyone that needs help.

To get an ExtremeSpeed Dratini, you have to defeat Clair and go to the Dragon's Den. I'm not sure if you need the Dragon Fang but I got it anyway. Enter the Elder's House and answer his questions -- they're the same questions as the ones from Crystal (Serebii has details on which answers to choose). I believe, when you click bad answers, the Elder turns and mutters something to himself -- that's a sign you did something wrong.

After answering all the questions Clair runs in and they have a chat; she gives you the Rising Badge and leaves. Go to leave the Dragon Den and you'll find Clair near the exit. Talk to her for a bit and she'll give you her TM. Go back to see the Elder and he'll give you the Dratini. I've heard reports of ExtremeSpeed being the last move Dratini has, replacing Dragon Rage. My Dratini had ExtremeSpeed replacing the first move, replacing Leer I believe.

On a side note my Dratini is Mild with pretty good IVs 8-)
 
Anyone wants to post good bird types in the Johto dex that can learn fly and has a decent level up move pool? I'm consiering pidgeot, but that's not very good =/. And I don't want Ho oh as my flyer. I'm going a non legendary run.

Golbat and Crobat are cool, though they're rather weak early in the game. It'll also take a while to get Golbat to evolve, your choice really. :P
 
@Eraddd; You get friendship while walking with the pokemon in your party, leveling it up, giving it potions, not letting it faint, and stuff like that. And also, to sort-of bypass the weak stage of Zubat, you can catch it at level 17+ so it already knows Wing Attack, giving you something other than Bite and Astonish.

SoulSilver gets Latios and HeartGold gets Latias.

The gym leaders being rematched in different places rather than there gyms. At least they will appear on a certain day at the same place.

Aaah brilliant, Latias is preffered and Heartgold is also my preffered game. lol Lugia's battle music is just simply terrible. They did a much better job on Ho-Oh's imo.

I agree, and I just finished listening to it over and over and over. 3 hours of SR's before I got a combo of good nature + good IV's.

Music all in all is hit and miss with me. But the good definitely outweighs the bad.

I just always seem to pick the version with the exclusive pokemon i don't want. [non-legends] like vulpix.. bellsprout, murkrow.. etc lol.

Anyone know where i can find a horsea? and a good HM slave for strength, cut, flash, and more?

Either a ninetales if i can find a fire stone, or a rapidash/magmar
scyther (scizor if i can trade soon) or a nidoking for electric attacks.
and an hm slave

Anyone know where i can get thunder, or thunderbolt?
 
I'm thinking that my team will be as follows:

Typhlosion
Feraligatr
Meganium
Mamoswine
Scizor
Ho-Oh

I should be able to get the starters very early, and Scyther I believe as early as the national park. Does anyone remember when you get the metal coat, though?

You originally get Metal Coat after you take the S.S. Anne after you beat the Elite 4. This could have changed since I haven't gotten up to there yet.
