legit hacks are pokemon that are hacked but with ivs/evs thatcan be produced the normal way. Thus, there're "legit" but produced by an extrenal device, by pokesav.

Cloning, iv checking, fast egg hatch are not part of legit hacks.

Can anyone help me evolve my electabuzz? I can pay with a masterball. please trade back, maybe we cud evolve each others electabuzz.
there is a thread in the wifi section for things like this, try asking there

@lovrina 24hp/252spc atk/232spe outruns adamant lucario and timid heatran and gives you enough power to hit hard

According to Serebii (yeah, I know) you can get Choice Specs at the Lake of Rage.
Does anyone know where they are/how to get them/who to talk to?
Does it have to be post-E4?

Ok, I'm not sure I'm doing the calcs right so...
How much damage will a standard Rotom-H do to a standard Foretress with Overheat?
Then, if it survives (sash or whatever) how much damage will that Foretress do to that Rotom with Payback?

Hey guys. I dont know if this is the right place to post this but I have a quastion.

Does the number of your loses affects the points you get if you win (on shoddy)?
I am asking this because I made a new acc and it did very well with a CRE of over 1550. However I lost three games in a row and now I have 7 loses in total and I have the impression that I gain fewer points per battle. Is there a way to bring the acc back to its glory?

Hey guys,

I'm new around here and I was directed to this thread regarding my question. I notice that a question has already been asked regarding "legit hacks", but I was wondering if anyone could go a bit more in depth regarding what this pertains to..

"Legit hacks" is kind of a collective term used to apply to some things, typically Action Replay codes, that technically do involve hacking the game but which most players consider to be acceptable. These typically include things like checking a Pokemon's IVs directly, speeding up certain aspects of the game like how long an egg takes to hatch, and cloning Pokemon. Since these do not really bypass any skill or luck, just time, they are generally allowed. This is as differentiated from "cheats" like modifying a Pokemon's stats directly, hacking a rare event Pokemon directly onto the file, etc.

So do people use AR to bypass old-fashioned EV training and leveling up since it's just a "time saver" and not "skill/luck"?

It's just a bit disillusioning to me as I have been doing it the old-fashioned way and it irks me to know that others are saving a lot of time using AR. I just figured it would not be acceptable amongst the competitive community/at a Nintendo tournament.

Depends if you fight on the ladder or not.
Sometimes when you lose against a player with a high rating, you won't lose much (I think)

Well as several people have pointed out, the above quote is not really what people generally mean when they say "legit hacks."

But that said, yes, it is possible to use cheat devices to bypass breeding, EV training, pretty much anything. With Pokesav you can, in theory, give yourself a Caterpie with 999 speed, No Guard, and a bunch of OHKO moves to sweep the opponent's team. And, yes, many competitive players use this hardware to make Pokemon identical to legit ones, in order to save time. The argument, I think, is that it makes the game more competitive if you can say, "Well, this Mismagius isn't working that well. I think it should be a Gengar," and just switch it, instead of saying, "Well, this Mismagius needs to be a Gengar. See you later! I do have an exam coming up, but I should be able to get a Gengar ready within the next couple weeks at most!" It makes Wi-fi more similar to Shoddy Battle, where just typing in what stats you want is exactly how it works.

Others think that breeding and training is a part of the game. That's why people are expected to notify you if they use a cheat device.

Quick question:

If i used pokesav on a flash card file but catched a pokemon normally in game, if i transfer it to a normal copy of the game, will the game appear as hacked?

Thanks.
