Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

That's excelent advice thank you. However, I just SRd for an easy one, BUUUUT.... I'm an idiot and didn't notice that both my "parents" were female (guess they're not into that kind of thing). I know my delay and target time for when I got that seed. If I reset my DS and hit my seed again (it wont be hard) could I just do the taps and flips to get that shiny again, but this time with "compatable" parents? XD

Also, doing the 10 coinflips to verify won't screw me up cuz I'll just do 2 more and subtract one happiness tap and it'll all equal out (12flips=1happiness tap).
Haha don't worry..we all do things like that...I often spaced out and putted the wrong parents that I needed..or the wrong order.

Yeah, you just need the same delay and time and your set.

Oh I never taught of that! Usefull advice.

You don't need to do the coin flips to check your seed. You can just follow the tutorial on the first page (Capture a poke and check his IVs). But, aiming on the right time/delay, of course. I believe capturing a poke is easier because I often miscount many flips, so I prefer the 'safe way'.

By the way, I wasn't aware of that 12 flips = 1 happiness thing. Nice tip :)

The tools I'm using are:
Pokémon Diamond
RNG Reporter 7.01

I'm looking at the DPPt Time Finder - DPPt Egg IVs and since there are no specific instructions - just the frame, IV's and the coin-flip sequence - I'm somewhat lost, so I'll ask you guys.

Lets say the IV's I want are on frame 12.

I have no wanderer-pokemon running around.

I saved the game in front of the old man, changed the date, syncronized my DS, turned it on, soft reseted and managed to land on the right second and delay, the journal automaticaly opened on a page with no caught/defeated pokemon, but the next page has a defeated pokemon.

This is the part that is confusing me: Do I do 6 page flips, colect the egg, do coin-flip trick to see if did get the right seed, hatch the egg and see the IV's to see if no NPC messed with my frames? Is that it?

Yeah, I just hit my seed on the very 1st try so I'll just do what I was going to do (I have proper parents now XP). Oh, didn't know people didn't know that?! I actually just today got my happiness checker (I'm the laziest guy you'll ever meet) so I've been doing simple flips of low (30 or less) just to get natures/genders/abilities that I need in eggs, but now I'm gonna do a few shinys and that seems to take much more advancements so you know. :P

Happiness Checker (open to or double tap)=2Xparty advancements.
Coin toss=1 Advancement.

If you accidentally do something wrong it's good to know this stuff. :)

Obviously you didn't read how to abuse for IVs to well. You have to find out what frame your egg is on. Once you do, (needs to be on a even frame), you can advance with journal flips.

...What's your initial or average frame? You need to know your intial frame even if it look like the NPC didn't mess you frame...

O read that three times, but I still didn't get it.

So just the action of getting the egg will advance the frames?

When I enter game world, I'm in frame 0, the egg is say in frame 4 and the IV's I want are on frame 12. If I just collect the egg I'll go from frame 0 to frame 4. So I have to do 4 journal flips to advance my frame to 8 then I collect the egg, which will make the frames go to 12 so the egg will have the IV's I'm aiming for. It that it?

Is my initial/average frame the frame I am when I enter game world?
Is my initial/average frame the frame the Egg's IV will reflect, if the egg is collected immediately after entering game world?

Yea pretty much. The egg doesn't have a starting frame, it is just a single frame. Outside objects affect the frame the egg is on. The 2 main things that affect it are the NPCs close to it and any runners out.

To check the egg frame, just start the game and immediately take the egg (Obviously righting down the time and date needed to find the seed). Then catch a pokemon to find out the seed. Generate the breeding dppt list and find out what frame it corresponds to. It is normally less than frame 10.

Got it.

Now for capturing pokemon, lets say I'm fishing. I soft reseted, coin-fliped and saw that I got the right time and delay. The IV's I want are on frame 9, so I'll have to advance 5 frames and then use the rod?
If I'm sweetscenting, then I advance 7 frames?

Your posts are irritatingly vague. You need to be more specific if we're going to help you.
I'm sorry for that, I'll explain it in steps then. I hope that makes it more clear.

If I calculate my target time and frame I do it in the "time to seed" section, I search for the spread, shinyness. I do generate times... Then I get some times, I choose one and I do generate again, then I get a huge number of timespreads that are very close to the selected one before, like one second difference, but with different delays.

1. I calculate my target time for the spread/shinyness that I want.
2. I calculate my synchronize time and reset time.
3. I put my ds at the synchronize time.
4. I wait till the reset time then reset.
5. Let's say my frame was 26, I calculate my flips(I want a fished pokémon so) => 26-4 = 22 (no roamers), that means 11 flips.
6. I do the flips(yes, from pages where pokémon catches are noted)
7. I fish
8. I get a spread that I did not want.

Again, what am I doing wrong?

You didn't state that you did the coin flips to check if you hit your seed or not, if you didn't check that, it's probably what you're doing wrong.
And make sure there aren't NPCs that move randomly in the area aswell.

I sometimes do, but I get like over 200 possibilities for the same time if I generate time and generate again for all the flips. Is this normal?

Is there any spot withouth npcs that somebody is absolutely sure of so I can practice there?

Look at the spread you are going for, make sure it is on a delay you hit often, if not, adjust the year. If you haven't calibrated to check delays, you already should have. After that, look on the times thing or the RNG reporter (not one of the apps) when you have the Seed in there and find the coin flips, keep resetting and flipping the coins until they match* then do the journal flips and fish etc.

*This doesn't work in weather conditions.

Okay, thx alot!

I have one last question, when I generate times... I get another pop up window with date-time-delay, but I can generate there again, for what is that?

If you want to change the year or if you want it to only show spreads on a certain second, I only use 50 seconds for example, you need to click the "generate" button to put the changes in effect.

And don't bother with the bottom section of that, as if have already calibrated all you need to do is keep resetting as you don't usually need to know what seed you hit when you miss your delay/time.

do delays change day to day or are they constant becuase i have been getting a different range of delays every day i do it
No they don't change day by day...
Delay are just hard to hit constanly..period. Some people can do it without using emloop..personnaly I have no idea how.

A diffrence of a millasecond can change your delay, for example, my delay is always between 635-637
EDIT: 635-10.58 secs 637-10.61

There is only a difference o 0.2-0.8 secs between the two. I dont remember the number exactly, il have to recheck.

Hmm... I'm looking to catch Cresslia
I've put my seed in and selected method 1.

It comes up with results, I've found the spread. It says I need to hit 669 frames. 664/2 as I have no runners and Cress is on frame 5?
What I don't understand is what the Time after PID means. Anyone help?

Disregard that. That is mainly for emerald and other GBA game abusers where the RNG is time based.

im sure this has been asked before but i cant find it... but what is emloop exaclty all i know is that it helps you hit your delay...
Can't find what emloop?
Anyways it's on th front page 4th or 5th Post...
Basicly it's timer that you can start at the same time as hard reseting/soft reseting, when the timer stops, it makes a beeping sound so you can practice by following the sound and pressing A at the same time as the timer beeps..anyways that's my way of using it, however there are other way's, explained in the 4th or 5th post in the first page.

You just gotta go with what method your comfy with...and it might be hard at first, but it get's easier over time.
